Just a Peek

Hi Bloggies  here are a few more of my samples for the Ali-Craft blog, Design Team Project which will be posted over there on Monday.

Thought I would try some different embossing powders, just to see lol!

Stamping into Utee.

Stamping with Brilliance Ink.

And finally, just a Peek at the final piece with the Clock face glazed.

If you want to see the completed piece pop in on Monday or go over to Ali-Craft blog for the full instructions on how I made this.

See you soon

Happy Wedding Anniversary

Yet more anniversaries Blogging friends  so just a quick post as I need to get on with the Ali-Craft project, don't know where the time goes lol!

Not much stamping on this one which is unusual for me.
I embossed the background paper with a Special Touch Mask and then rubbed over it with Distress Ink.
The heart is Stamped with a Papermania Urban Stamp called Vintage Notes (Heart). I used Indigo Blu Flitter Glue and gilding flakes for this which was then cut out using the matching die.

The sentiment was computer generated as I could not find a stamp that I liked for this and the card was finished with ribbon and gems. The label for the sentiment is Spellbinders.

And this is the insert which I made to go with the card.
There was some of the patterned paper left so it seemed a shame not to use it.

That's all for now.

Gilding Flakes.

Still busy trying out my ideas  Blogsters  for the Ali-Craft project next week.
Not really giving away what it will be but I have been using gilding flakes  which are available at Ali-Craft. I have used them with the Graphics 45 Steampunk Spells Clock and Wings stamps.

I used Flitter Glue and stamped onto black card and as you can see the detail is brilliant and just as clear as it would be with ink.

Hope you like it so far?

Masterboard Monday

Hi Bloggetters  hope you are having a nice bank holiday.
I am busy working on my next project for Ali-Craft which I will be posting on 2nd September so if you are interested just pop over to see what I've been up to. Here is a clue as to what it might be.
I have been playing with the Graphics 45 Steampunk Spells 1 Stamps and this will be posted on Monday I thought I would start by making a Masterboard.

I love these stamps and if you like them too, you can get them from the Ali-Craft shop. I also used set 3 which is were the text stamp came from.

I used first, second and third generation stamping and masked off some of the clocks before stamping the background.
Obviously this is only the start and it may not stay this colour though the black and white is quite effective.
We'll just have to see. I will post some more of my other test pieces as I go along this week.

Happy Wedding Anniversary

Hi Bloggsters  a slightly different direction just for a change. A couple of anniversary cards, it seems to be that time of the year lol!

Car stamp by Creative Expressions and hearts by Stampotique.
Background paper is wrapping paper from All Saints.
Text card by Tim Holtz.
Martha Stewart border punch.
Spellbinder's oval dies.

I stamped and embossed the car first and then die cut the card and the mounts, using oval Spellbinder's dies, before constructing the card.

Rose stamp by: Woodware.
Spellbinder's dies.
Embossalicious embossing folder.
Stickles glue.
Glaze.
Gelly Roll Pens.

Close-up of the card shows the detail of the stickles glue and embossing. Some of the petals were glazed.
The paper used for the rose was yet more of the waste used to cover the table when doing the spraying on other card, it's much better than using a craft mat and just wiping it up afterwards.
Hope you like these.

Steampunk Greeting card Ideas

Hi Bloggsters  I need some greetings cards this week and as the Steampunk stamps were still laying around , that seemed like a good place to start.

The stamps are by Chocolate Baroque and the embossing folder by Couture Creations, lovely lol!

I have made a set of the next card using slightly different colours.
The background paper was by K & Company.

You may well recognise the balloon stamp as I used it on the Steampunk Shadow Box.
These are fab stamps giving great impressions.

The coloured paper I stamped onto was newsprint that I used to protect the table when spraying.
I stamped the design onto it and on card. The stamped card was die cut using a Spellbinders die. I cut out a section of the balloon from the sprayed paper and and attached it to the card.
Not sure you can tell but I mounted this with some 3D Sticky Dots to make the balloon stand out slightly and give it more shape.

I finished the cards with Stickles glues, ribbon and gems.
Interestingly you may notice some strips of gold card, these were waste pieces cut from the sheet when making the mats and it seemed a shame not to use them, I think they work well, what do you think?

Masterboard Monday

Hi Bloggie  friends I have been amazed this week at the interest I have received with the Steampunk shadow box I made using matchboxes.
I love anything Steampunk and it would seem that I am not the only one, lol!
I have to thank Sandee and Amelie's choice of challenge.

However, I have still found time to work on the family journal
using the Masterboard papers and cards posted last Monday.
I think I am nearly ready to start the construction.
I like to have all the bits and pieces ready and then start playing around with the page designs.

Been cutting up some of the Masterboards to make pockets, borders and frames.
I love the Vintage Cabinet dies by Tim Holtz and have used them a lot and also his border dies.

This is one of the pockets which will probably hold ATCs.

The photographs were printed onto brown craft paper. I wasn't sure that it would work but it is always worth a try and they printed really well.

I used a sepia setting on Picasa 3.
The paper is smooth on one side and slightly rough on the other and I printed it on the rough side.
Although it's not easy to see, the frame has been embossed with clear embossing powder.

Guess that's it for now and hope to start putting it together this week if other things don't get in the way of construction lol!
Hoping you like it so far, love to read your comments.

Masterboard Pages

Hi  Blogbits  just a few pages to show you what I have been up to with the family journal.
This photograph is of my father and his twin brother.
If you look closely you can see the star paper under the photograph which is why the picture looks a bit spotty but I like it, hope you do too.

Sorry about the slight glare, these were acetate scans of the original photographs then mounted on the top of the star stamped masterboard.

This photograph is of my grandmother and grandfather on their wedding day.

The frame was corrugated card, covered in Utee and then embellished with a flourish stamp and cut to shape with the Tim Holtz Cabinet Card Frame.
Apart from the border all of this is acetate.
  • The photograph was scanned, first on acetate and then placed over the masterboard and scanned again onto acetate which allows you to see the text through the photograph.
I hope that is clear? lol!

It would be possible to just scan all the stampboard sheets and just save the originals though I realise they are not quite as nice, as you miss out on some of the texture created. You could do both by scanning and then using the originals on something special.

Back soon Angela x

Steampunk

Hi Blogging Friends  I have been busy working on some Steampunk stuff, yes I have also been working on the journal and there will be more of that on Thursday. I just needed a change lol! A bit of fun lol!
Any way, hope you like it.

Most of this was made using the card from the back of old envelopes.
I like it, it's nice and stiff without being too thick.
  • Stamps by Chocolate Baroque and Creative Expressions, lovely!!
  • Dies and Embossing Folders by Tim Holtz.
  • Paper, sprayed with mica inks: Crafty Notions Colour Sprays.
  • Brads by Creative Expressions, Faux Screws.
  • Additional colour: Gelly Roll Pens.
  • Crackle Glaze: Kroma.
  • Gilding Wax: Treasure Gold.
  • Eco-Green Acrylic Paint.
  • Four Matchboxes.
  • Stickles Glitter Glues.

                Full view of the front.

The main body of the box was constructed with four matchboxes with the covers removed.

Back view, clearly showing the design of the embossing folder.

I cut the card first using the cabinet die and then embossed it and
applied acrylic paint.

Closeup view of the right side.

After painting the front with acrylic paint, I added crackle glaze and when set, I rubbed over this with gilding wax.

                                   Closeup of the top section.

The balloon was stamped onto sprayed paper and card. The two stamped images were attached and finished with Stickles Glitter Glues.

Closeup view of the left side.

I finshed the cogs by adding the Faux Screws.

I would be really pleased to hear what you think about this project and thank you for visiting.

Masterboard Pages

Back again as promised  Bloggies,  I wonder if you had any ideas of what might be on it's way.
Hope it's a nice surprise lol!
These are some of the pages I have made, ready to mount the Photographs etc., using the Masterboards shown yesterday.

I cut the A4, text stamped papers in half and then used a flourish stamp which I heat embossed. I edged the pages with various distress inks.
The sprayed papers were randomly ripped and edged with distress inks and used to decorate the pages.

And here are a few more samples of what I made.

It's amazing what you can do with bits of ripped paper lol!

Before the end of the week I hope to show you some of the completed pages. Do let me know what you think of it so far.
It's so nice to hear what people think.

Best wishes Angela xxx

Masterboard Monday

Hi Blogbabes  hope you are all well.
Today I have some masterboards which are under preparation for a family journal though I cannot be sure how long it will be before it is completed.
I started this several months ago and things kept getting in the way so perhaps this will encourage me to go back to it.
Anyway here goes.

I used various types of paper to create these masterboards and the one above was done on Tissue paper. The techniques were spraying and stamping.

I really like this effect as it is a good contrast to the more heavy colour effects that I achieved with the other papers and being white cartridge paper it has a very clean finish.

These papers are similar to wrapping paper and I used Spraying and Swiping with cosmic shimmers, though any mica inks would give the same effect.

And this paper was simply stamped with a text stamp.
Now what do you think Angela did next with that little lot lol!

If you want to find out you will have to come back tomorrow.

Just a little something

Same stamp Bloggerettes just different colours but on both of these I used stampbord for added interest.

Fairly quick cards to make but sometimes it has to be that way.

The second card also has letters stamped into Utee and heat embossed background.

Back soon with the next instalment of Masterboard Monday.

Bye for now

Masterboard Monday

Hi Blogtonians more masterboard today and one I made for the envelope swap.

This is the masterboard with a close-up showing the detail.
It was made with a combination of clear embossing then swiping ink off the craft mat and stamping.

Here is the finished envelope with ATC and Bookmark.
I have to mention that the cord was taken from a Joules swing ticket.
You wouldn't expect me to throw such a lovely cord away would you lol!

The bookmark and ATC give a clear view of the texture which was created using Texture Paste and then colouring with Gilding Wax, such a nice little gift to add.

The stamps for this were Creative Expressions, Vintage Vixens and Steampunk Sirens and I used Sakura Gelly Roll pens to colour her.

Various embellishments completed the project.

The close-up shows the Stickles Glue which I added.
You have to have some shiny bits,
'It's the Law' lol!
