WOYWW 297# What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi Workdesk friends.
Another Wednesday and I am here to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the
Stamping Ground and our dear host Julia will explain and all will be revealed.

A dear blogging friend Deb-Paxton Valley Folk Art recently told me I am like a Mad Scientist.
This is one of the nicest things anyone has said to me in a long time Lol!
As I am not one to disappoint, I have some more testing to show you today.

So here is my desk for this week.

For some time I have had some Mod Podge Melts and although I have tried them I wasn't happy with my glue gun so I have treated myself to a new one which is proving much better and here it is:

This is a Dremel with two heat settings which is much better when working with the glue sticks as some need a hotter temp. and some a cooler one.
The finished pieces don't really look much at this stage, however!

Add some paint and gilding wax and they are transformed into something quite different.

More samples for your delight.

I particularly like the Steampunk piece with the cogs though they all worked well.

Hope you like the effect. If you have any questions just leave me a comment and I will get back to you but now I'm off to see what everyone else has been up to and I hope you will do the same.

Just in case anyone missed the journal cover, here it is though you will see it better if you click on it and open it up.

Happy WOYWW crafting
and
have a good week

Angela x

A wonderful compliment, Angela. I now have a fantastic picture in my mind....
That work is lovely - it is so very effective as you add the colour. Well done.
Take care. God bless.

Lovely work from the mad scientist lol!! Did you do them in moulds, or were they stamped? They look great.

Not sure if I'll get round to doing WOYWW this week (nothing on my desk anyway) because things are really stressful here atm.

Wow, those glue pieces are gorgeous! Yes, I like the steam punk one too. They are all beautiful in their own way. I love that gold rub product. You seem to make awesome things with it.
Have a good week,

Mad scientist! What a nice compliment. I'm not willing to experiment with things. I just want to know that they will work and how they work so I'm impressed by those of you who are willing to try different things out and report back. Your glue creations are fabulous! Lightweight too I'm sure. Judy #69

They are beautiful - I love the finished effect - I'd never guess they'd end up looking so amazing! I love the idea of a glue gun with two heat settings - mine is on it's last legs, in fact I think it's only old glue that's holding it together so I might treat myself - thanks for the tip! Hope you have a great week,

I agree with your friend about you being a creative experi-mentor :) Whenever I come by your blog (usually only Wednesdays because I am busy doing art and not computer oogling) you seem to be using something new I want to try (I still have no tyvek!) Love what you did with the glue sticks. I wanted to try making some of those masks using glue for my gelli plate printing...but I can't FIND my glue gun. Guess I need to go get a new one like you :) Shel#45

Wow, that is pretty darn cool Angela! How did you get the shapes though? Did you use silicon moulds with the hot glue? Amazing results! So gonna try this! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #27

Wow, that is so clever. Do you just squirt the glue into a mould of some kind or over an existing object? Looks really great. I love your journal cover. Have a great week,

Oh I do like the look of that glue gun I'll have to go source one out as the one I've got is really flimsy. I've made frames with the modge podge glue sticks then painted with acrylic paint. I really like the antique look. Anita 63

Well, your friend's not wrong, you always have something wild and wacky on your desk and this week is not exception!! How on earth can that random pile of amorphous blobs turn into those fantastic embellishments? Amazing!! Clever you :-)

Gorgeous project, if it weren't for mad scientists, these machines we use for hopping would probably not exist, so keep going! Happy woyww and thanks for your visit :)

Your bellies have turned out really well. Did Iain get you into this? I tend to stick to clay or UTEE but then I don't have such a super glue gun. Looks a beauty and I am envious.
Great journal cover.

Hi Angela,
The journal cover is fabulous!
I've made embellishments out of air dry clay with Sculpey and Kraft Lady moulds. I've also got half a dozen jars of Opals (an Australian version of Utee). They have gone out of business, unfortunately, so I got them for a really, really good price. But, I have yet to get around to experimenting with them :)
Thanks for dropping by, much appreciated.

I'm still using Mr Dunnits Joinery workshop glue gun..the glue sticks are about a foot long and it has one very definite temperature, but i can see this moulding really appeals to me so I may well have to buy something more easy to use! Love the gilded pieces you've done.

You see this is why I love visiting your blog so much, because you experiment..yeh!...and that inspires me!!! Fabulous results, I've done drips down a canvas with a glue gun recently, now I can go mad with my glue gun.... Have a lovely crafty weekend Angela. Ruth x
