Friday Fun Day.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

This is a tree in the park where we walk the dogs.
At this stage you are probably thinking this is a very nice tree but why are we looking at it! It's just a tree!

However if you look closer you will see something that we don't see very often.

We don't get these every year but they are back again and when they do appear there are lots of them and they seem to appear almost over night.

I haven't found any fairies yet but I bet they are there somewhere!

So that was my fun day for this week.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too if you like.

Thanks for stopping by,

Angela x

Hi Anglea and a late happy Friday. Those 'mushrooms' are way cool -I'd be wanting to take photos of them too, haven't seen them in Australia myself but I believe my friend had them in Tasmania. Great pics and thanks for sharing, have a lovely weekend Cheers Robyn

Thanks for popping by my blog for Friday Smiles......it's been a while since we have connected. Having two GDs, for two days a week this summer, pulled me away from my pc and my blog.

LOVE the mushroom photos....they did make me smile, ooooh and awwwh. I've never seen anything like them in real life.

Thanks for sharing them.

Fly agaric, definitely toxic!!!

Great photos, Angela. I've never seen a "fairly ring" of these before. Did you see the recent programme on BBC4 on fungi? It was fascinating.

My hubby is friends with Nicholas Evans, who wrote "The Horse Whisperer." A few years ago he and his wife nearly died from eating poisonous fungi and ended up on dialysis and he had a kidney transplant. It was touch and go for quite a while. Very, very dangerous to eat any fungi without knowing for sure that they are safe! I don't think after this, that I would risk eating a wild mushroom! (Actually I'm not supposed to eat mushrooms at all these days as they are not stoma-friendly.) The fairies can have them, as far as I am concerned lol! Fungi are fascinating life forms though, with a very interesting life cycle, and so beneficial to humanity in so many different ways.

I think it is a very nice tree!

Beautiful mushrooms! Those photos made my day. A smile and a half!
I happen to know this one: Amanita Muscaria. It is very toxic but luckily very recognisable. Red certainly means 'danger' in this case. And yes, they do pop up over night. The spores lie in the ground waiting for the right conditions....
Thanks for visiting,
Lisca

Hello dear Angela, what a lot of nice toadstools you had found. They nearly form a witch's ring around that tree. I like these mushrooms with their fresh red color and white dots so much. Great photos you made, thanks for sharing it with us.
Dearest Autumn Greetings

Love the photo of the toadstools. They do look as if fairies should be dancing around them. Lisca certainly knows her toadstools. Very impressed. Have a lovely week Angela. Barbxx
