That Craft Place Challenge.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

And here is my fourth design for :
That Craft Place Challenge Blog.

As usual this fortnight's theme is:
Mixed Media Anything Goes!
So can't go wrong there!

  • Next I started adding the texture using Modelling Cream and a stencil from That Craft Place.

(You may remember me using this stencil before on this tag).

  •  More texture in the form of tissue paper and lace, also from That Craft Place. Lisa has a great collection of lace and ribbons.

  • A little extra texture now in the form of Micro Beads by Creative Expressions.

  •  And it's time to add more Gesso.

  • The next job was to spray some colour on as you can see below and dry it.
  •  And next, yet more texture in the form of crackle paste.

Close-up view of the crackle.

This is so scrummy!

  • When the crackle had developed, I added a little more colour, dried  it, added gold and red gilding wax and sealed it using Ranger Glue and Seal.
At this stage I needed to consider some form of embellishment and for this I used the waste paper which had been on my desk, when spraying the heart.
I set about cutting out some interesting shapes e.g. flourishes, flowers, leaves etc. which I would use to decorate the heart.

The gold cord and the buttons are some I got from That Craft Place.
Lisa has lots of embellishments of this type.

Here is the finished heart.

Hope you enjoyed looking at this project, it would be great if you could leave me a little comment.

I will always visit you back if I know where you are.

I look forward to seeing your entries for the challenge.

Friday Fun Day.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Welcome once again to my Friday Fun Day, hope you enjoy looking at what I have been up to this week.

I am still working on the skins but work stopped for the moment as I had a delivery this week as seen below.......

 Now what could this be!!!!

Nearly there Lol!

And here it is.
Moulding Putty!

The little jars are the ones we crafters are normally expected to buy and the big ones are from a company who supply dental equipment.
Weight for weight they are a much better buy and obviously you can make larger moulds if you wish.

So I had a play round with this and did a few bits with the Melt art too.

I finished these by rubbing over them with various colours of Treasure Gold gilding wax.
This is the Texture Tread I used.

I have used some of this in a project I have just finished but can't show you that until the 5th September.
Sorry but if you want to see it you will have to pop back.

Till then, happy crafting.

WOYWW 325 # What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

And this is what's on my desk today...

I have had a tidy-up though you can hardly tell now but needed to make space for the Cuttlebug.
This is a newish machine as my first one had a little accident when I tried to put something through it that...... well really I shouldn't have!

I am working on a large tag using a Masterboard that my friend Gloria sent me, you can just see it at the back.
I will post the tag when it is finally finished.

At the moment I am cutting out some embellishments using various dies.
A few more things on my desk.

You can just see these through the conservatory window so thought you might like a close-up.

So that's it really for today.
I'm off now for a nosey round everyone else.
Thank you so much for visiting.
Let me know you've been and I will definitely visit you back, well it's only fair Lol!
Not only that but I'm nosey too Lol!

Have a great woyww and happy crafting,
Angela x

Masterboard Monday

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi friends, I'm back again to show you the Masterboard I made for my friend Gloria as part of our monthly swap and what she made with it.

So here goes:
I used a variety of stamps on this but mostly Paper Artsy.
The background colour was applied using coloured tissue paper.
If you missed this technique you can find it here, Bleeding Tissue Paper.

And this is what Gloria made!

Front.

Back.

The side section was made into a pocket.

And inside were all these lovely postcards.

Front.

Back.

It's gorgeous, I'm sure you will agree!
Leave me a comment if you can then I'll know what you think and I will pass it on to Gloria.

That's it for now.

Happy crafting,
Angela x

Friday Fun Day

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi everyone this is a follow up from last Friday. If you missed it you can find it here.
I decided Friday was a spare day on my blog so I am making it
Friday Fun Day.

This is going to be the day I post all my test pieces. I am continuing  this week playing with Mod Podge and other glues.

I started getting interested in this again after seeing a recent video from debby epps where she was making something that she calls Acrylic Slick Skins.
So this time I actually had a go at the method she used which is to put the ModPodge onto a sleeve protector that has been cut in half and laid out.
Again this must be done thinly.

I then swirled on some black paint.

Added some glitter to part of it and left it to set.

You will find that it peals away lovely on this plastic sheet.

Although I haven't decided how I will use these I tried laying them on top of some journal pages to see how they looked.

I think this technique may prove useful.
So thanks to debby epps for reminding me about it.

I tried doing this on one of those acetate sheets that you can use in the printer. It is not a good idea Lol! as the Mod Podge stuck to it and would not come off but it looked nice and might still be useful.
I drizzled acrylic paint and scattered Stella Flash onto it while still wet.
Then used a tooth pick to spread it.

Tried it on the top of a couple of pages in my journal too.
However it's not easy to photograph because of the acetate.

If you have any ideas for using this I'd be pleased to hear them.

Hope you'll call again and happy crafting,

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

And this is what's on my desk today...

It may not be obvious but I did have a big tidy up!
Okay so you can't see it now! but I have been busy since then Lol!

One thing that I have done is to sort those bird dies into individual bags as it was driving me mad trying to find which bits went together . Well got it sorted now as you can see!
Just got to get round to using them.

Other than that all my projects are under wraps at the moment but you'll get to see them soon.

Nice and quick today so off to see what everyone else has been up to.

Bye for now and happy WOYWW,

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Following on from my Masterboard last week you may remember I mentioned that I had been altering some of these using Picasa.
This is a program I really love and as a freebie it's brilliant.

So here are some of the alterations I have made to this Masterboard.

 The Original.
Hand painted and stamped using Aqua Tints and some clear embossing.

Altered using Picasa.

Obviously I could go on but think this shows what can be produced using this program.

Hope you found this interesting.
More ideas will follow and examples of the ways I have used these Masterboards soon ( I hope!).

Happy crafting,

Angela x
