Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week or at least since my last Friday post.
We had a trip over to Macclesfield to see some old friends so I took a few photos of the drive over.
The landscape is quite different from here in Lincolnshire as you will see.

We decided to stop off at Matlock on the way as we've not been for some time and spent a while walking round the river and gardens.
This is the area known as Matlock Baths.

The gardens are very pretty.

You can hire a boat on the river.

Not sure who this belongs to but it looks nice, up on the hill.

And this too.

They were cleaning the bridge today.

And so we set off for the next part of the journey.
As you can see the landscape is now quite different as we went over the Derbyshire moors known as the Peak District.

Famous Cat & Fiddle.

From here we went on to Macclesfield. Originally known for the Silk industry.

And the route back.
Sorry about the photos as they were all taken in the car.

Bit scary sign!

Chesterfield.
Famous twisted spire.

Interesting sculpture.

And finally we are nearly home.

Hope you enjoyed the trip.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

Oh I did certainly enjoy the trip. Most of it familiar territory for me as my sister has lived in the Macclesfield area (Prestbury) since 1971 and our daughter lives in Congleton. We have many friends in the area, as well as a brother and sister in law just outside Manchester. I recognised the Cat & Fiddle, the highest pub. We got snowed in once many years ago in the 70s when I was young. I can't quite remember how we got back....
Thank you for the tour.
Have a good week,
Lisca
PS I didn't post anything today. Next week is another week.

What incredible photos, Angela. I enjoyed the sculpture, the bridge, and the castle. Of course, I also enjoyed the countryside, and since I am not from England, it was fun seeing all those signs, too. In all, it was a beautiful trip and I really enjoyed that you took us along.

Also, thanks for visiting me while I slept. Had I known you would have such awesome photos, I would have been here sooner.

Looks like you have a lovely trip to my neck of the woods, I loved seeing the photos as I don't tend to photograph local things! Anne xx

That was quite a drive. I enjoyed travelling with you. I like to see new places. The petrifying baths was an interesting place to take a break, and i am sure it was good to meet up with old friends. Kate x
