Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

I will explain who this is later Lol!

We've been out walking again, sorry that's not me as I was the one with the camera!

We found these which were interesting.

This is the back, yes they are trees......

until you see the front which are all carved and gorgeous.

Love these.

These are found in Goltho Woods.

This little church is all that remains of a deserted medieval village. Medieval Goltho had a motte and tower within ringwork defences, but these exist today as mere bumps and mounds covered with turf. The site of the castle is just to the south west of the churchyard.
Unfortunately it was set on fire and as yet no work has been done to restore it.

On the way home we walked through Wragby and found these at Wragby Maze. They are so sweet.

This is the entrance to the Maze.

And one of our old windmills. There are still quite a few in Lincolnshire.
Some like this one have been converted but there are still some working examples too.

Not the most brilliant photograph as it was dusk when I took it but thought you might like this as him indoors has put fairy lights round the pond.... how sweet is that!

My little friend has been round to entertain us too.

Here he is singing his heart out.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

Those trees are unbelievable. I was really impressed because we don't have anything like that here.

Here in the states, that church would have been torn down by now. We never seem to repair anything, just level and rebuild. That's why we have very few old buildings here.

LOVED the pond and your cute fur baby, too.

I thought of you today when I was creating what I thought could be called a masterboard.

Happy Friday smiles.

Sorry I've not posted today. We are just home from a much needed few days away with some of the family. I love your 'rabbit' trees and it looks like a fab place you've been walking. Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,

Thanks for leaving your wonderful comment on my blog. I first heard about masterboards on Julia's blog (of WOYWW fame). Then I saw them on Helen's. After that, I saw them regularly on yours. Then there seems to have been an explosion of interest in the European community, and the first time I used the word, my American readers asked me explain. I have seen them in Stampington, but I still don't know any US reader who actually makes them. Thanks for your contribution, because I actually thought of you and Helen the first time I created this technique.

Oh what a nice place to take a walk through. Very interesting all the wooden Art there. The green bunnies look very funny. I like the photo with the light around the waterplace, so nice. Thanks for sharing your impressions of this nice place.
Have a great weekend.

That's a really interesting post on all counts. The carved tree trunks are fabulous and the topiary characters such fun. You seem to find places of real interest to take your walks.
I think it might be nice to have those lights around your pond all year round, don't you. Thanks for your message and Annie has been in touch but I was quite worried before you let me know.
Have a great w/end

Happy weekend Angela, AMAZING things you've found on your walks - you just don't find anything like that in Australia - a medieval manor wow - how old would that be - makes me think of those folk who lived there, so interesting. Love the carvings and the topiary trees, great photos thanks for sharing, enjoy your week hugs Robyn
