WOYWW 417 # What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!

I'm working on a journal page using up some old Car Tax Discs.
They used to come in lovely colours and these are all purple that I'm using today.

Once I'd stuck them onto the pages I covered them with clear Gesso and went over them with a stencilled design and sprayed them with ink.
Obviously this is not complete but will post it again when it'd finished.
I actually have a journal full of half finished pages. I think I am obsessed with backgrounds!

My ATCs are just starting to arrive and here are the first ones from:
BJ, Annie (Wipso), Jo (Twiglet), Shaz Brookes and Anne (Copper Beach).
Thank you so much ladies they are all gorgeous xXx

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Angela x

You keep old tax discs?Ours are sticky so don't survive pulling off I guess. yes Bernina mach's great. They are real work horses aren't they I have a Quilter's machine Virtuosa 150 which is probably quite ancient by now I suppose, but it works so well. Mum's machine has the sweetest motor sound. it is a dear old lady, and I'll be using it for a few weeks as the mechanic said he had lots of backlog of machines to service. The Bernina man is such a brusque type, I couldn't go back. This man can do my machine. He said the new Wizz Bang Embroidery machines are beyiond him, but mine is relatively simple. I have never thought about buying an embroidery machine, but they often have then second hand at dealers.Ladies trade them in when the newer fancy ones come in. The new ones do lace...amazing! Do you miss the teaching?
have a great week, and thankyou for commenting as often as you do. i appreciate it.

Love your tax disc backgrounds, Angela. How imaginative is that? I love anything recycled in art, and this is superb. Lovely ATCs, too. I'm not joining in WOYWW this week as I've been too busy and haven't done any art.

Have a happy one, anyway!

Did smile at your saved tax discs... what would make you think of that... unless you work in a post office! I think the page looks fab so far (am with you on the backgrounds, much my favourite bit!) Helen #5

I don't know what car tax discs are - at first I thought they were like CDs, but upon further examination they seem to be paper? Great way to recycle! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #41

Glad it's not just me that has a stash of unfinished projects and backgrounds! Love the purple tax discs x

:) I have no idea what the car tax things are but, I have the idea they are more like paper stickers than disc ( like plastic floppy disc that used to be so common right?) I used to know people saved AOL disc's that came in the mail for altering. love the colors of the page that is being done with them Angela, ~Stacy #40

Hey tax discs are a thing of the past if you hadn't cut them up they could be valuable in years to come. Remember when we used to have all ours in the holder on the windscreen. Lovely ATC's. PS also love the bag you made (fb). ANickoana #6

If I hadn't been so messed up (like craft stuff all over the house) I would have swapped with you. We must do it next time.
Love the idea of the tax discs. I saved some but then I think they just got thrown for lack of ideas as to what to do. Super job you are doing - love the pages.
Hugs, Neet 13 xx

Hi Angela
Yes, I'd love to swap ATCs! Your address is around here somewhere. If I can't find it I will get you to resend :) Love those backgrounds! I seem to do that too - make more backgrounds than I'll ever be able to use :)
