Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week though not a lot really as I've had a head cold which has slowed me down a bit.

Can you see who that is in the distance?

She is a little madam who thinks she owns the garden.
 Bit closer!

And closer! She still hasn't noticed I'm here.

Don't know what she has done with her eyebrows!

Up she comes, think she just saw me watching her!
Cheeky girl!

This was before they went for their hair cut which is why she looks a bit untidy.
And Stan.... well he doesn't notice anything or care anyway.

This was supposed to be a walk on Wednesday which ended up with us sitting in the garden centre drinking coffee and eating scones though I must say they were rather nice and great to just relax and chat.

Don't know what it was like at yours on Wednesday but it rained here so walking was not a good option, maybe another day but we enjoyed it anyway.

Other than that I found this chap the other day and looked up what he was.
This is a burying beetle or Sexton so called because they dig soil from under small dead birds and mammals and then lay their eggs on the corpse. Bet you wanted to know that Right!

 The park is still busy.

See the chip in the fountain bowl.
Well now it's gone as they have been doing some work there this week.

This has nothing to do with the renovation, I just like this tree.

Work is going on round the bandstand too.

 Well that is it really.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

I love your little dogs....they look such characters and I bet they are always making you smile. I don't really like creepy crawlies but that beetle is rather lovely. That's a gorgeous tree in your park....I think it would be my fav too. Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Annie x

Those dogs are just too sweet! Lovely to sit and enjoy each others company in spite of the never ending rain-right?
And yes, that little bug is kinda- ewe!, but all part of the process of nature!
Have a super weekend my friend!

Obviously, she owns the garden and just lets you use it occasionally! Not heard of that bug before, very interesting. Garden centres are a great escape from the British weather. I do wonder what percentage of their profits come from the cafe rather than the plants though. Lurve that tree, it obviously felt that it's hair (leaves) needed a wash! Have a great weekend x

I think that is an interesting beetle. I like all the creepy crawlies as long as they are not crawling on me! I always look them up, but I am learning not to get too close to some of them out here. They are not all friendly.
I love the tree arch - beautiful.
Hope the cold is better soon. Kate x

Your dogs are such characters!
That is an interesting beetle. I love finding out about insects. I'm not usually afraid of anything creepy crawly as long as they don't crawl on me or my bed.
The band stand is really beautiful. It is finished I suppose.
That arched tree is stunning. Very special. I can understand it is your favorite.
Have a good week, and keep smiling,
Lisca

Yes, I think you are right! That card was one of yours. Well, coincidentally that card has arrived at it's destination (he is a man from New Zealand that lives in France) and this is what he writes:
Hello Lisca,

Many thanks for the excellent postcard (with the super stamp) from Spain showing the very funny caravan joke. I think you are right – it is best appreciated by someone who understands British seaside humour !

My wife, Gaby and I love to travel and explore new places. Last year, in February, we went to Taipei to welcome the Year of the Monkey for Chinese New Year. On our way to Taipei, we made stops in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou (we travelled separately – Gaby got Shanghai & Beijing and I got Guangzhou !).
Happy Postcrossing,
Steve

Lovely post, Angela. It's always nice to see people's pets, and it's always fun to see the bandstand - a nice lighthearted bit of architecture! As for the beetle, without little fellows like that, we'd be wall-to-wall dead birds in no time at all. The beetles just hasten the process towards compost, that's all! Thank you for your return visit - sorry you've gone down with a cold - miseable at any time of year but somehow in the sunmner it's worse. Glad you like the finished pantry. We now have our 2 new kittens and they are utterly adorable!

Great photos Angela. The man looks as if he's having a drink! It was a horrid day here too but coffee with friends sounds the best idea. I watched tv most of the day catching up with the soaps - how sad is that. Maisie was obviously very happy sitting in the garden and in her own world before she noticed you creeping up on her ... hehe! I was interested to read about the beetle. Must show this to hubby. He does micro photography and loves insects. Barbxx

Thank you for your comment about our new kittens, Angela. They really are gorgeous, and endlessly entertaining as you can imagine! I'm going mad with the videos and glad to have a new video editor on the iPad.

Hope you are having a great weekend.

Yup, dog with attitude that's for sure, both are cuties but guessing high maintenance too, that's why no pets here, flat out doing what needs done.
Missed my walk last two days not wet, but so worn out from gardening not able to go. Getting old. ;)
Love garden shots too, thanks for popping over and happy smiles day,
Shaz in Oz.x
