Hi Workdesk friends.
Back again for another Wednesday, to the fabric playground.
I am here to show you:
"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".
If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

So here is my desk this week.
Remember this? well!
I have been playing again Lol!
With something called Distressing Paper though I need to make some space first Lol!
When I opened the packet I thought it looked and felt very much to me like Vylene interfacing.
and this was the result.
I also added some gilding wax lightly to bring out the textural detail.
This was the second sample.
With this one, I threaded through some ribbon.
I have been doing lots of testing recently but need to complete the project I had planned for these samples and will be back soon to show you how I have used them in my art work.
But for now....
I'm off to see what everyone else have been doing.

ReplyDeleteWow, I like that look! Great idea to use gilding wax on the textured surfaces. I tend to do a lot of experiments too and never actually incorporate them in projects! This will have to go on my list of things to do in the future as I'm still reeling from the beauty and success of the Tyvek experiments last week! Wow - these are just wonderful, Angela. Love the first "metallic" looking one - and the third one with those gorgeous coloured ribbons running through. Just great! They are good on their own - just need mounting and you have some finished pieces. Looking forward to seeing what you do with them all.

ReplyDeleteLove what you have done - try nappy liners (100 for a pound) for the same effect. That's what I use for something similar.

I love this stuff and have been using it for years as textured backgrounds, I also use the tape version for cards, brilliant and in any ink colour you want. Thanks for sharing and also for visiting.

How interesting! I woould never have dreamed that you could get such amazing results from a bit of 'vylene'. I love the samples that you did especially the first photo.
