Tim Holtz Tag for February 2015.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I have been planning to join in with the tags but other things just kept getting in the way, however I have made the effort (after a little push from my friend Kelly who thought my chocolate bar would be a good layout for the tag) and managed to get it finished, though it was tight. Thanks Kelly!

This is Tim's Tag for February 2015.

And this is mine.

I decided to use some of the Tim Holtz fabrics for my interpretation of Tim's tag plus the addition of some embellishments this is what I came up with.

I started with these:

And when I was satisfied with the arrangement I stitched the pieces together before attaching it to the tag.
I quite liked the button paper that Tim had used but didn't have fabric like that so I have actually sewn on some small buttons which seem to have worked quite well.
I have made the heart in felt but sewn it to another piece of Tim's fabric so that the heart opens up revealing the patterned fabric below.
The 14 was a small piece again cut from one of Tim's fabrics and has a small clear tag attached to give it more dimension.
Small amounts of antique lace have also been added to soften the effect.
I used a Faber-Castell artist pen for the shadow, quite like these as they come in different shades.

Just a few closeups to show you.

I have put a little bit of wadding into the globe to make it 3D but not sure how clear that is?

Altogether I am quite pleased with the finished tag and hope to join in again next month.
I have just made the deadline for joining in this month with a few hours to go. If you would like to pop over and have a look click here to see Tim's tag.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting.

  1. Wow Angela, I love that you used Tim's fabric for your tag (wish I had thought of that), it looks fabulous and the heart is beautiful - love the stitching on it too! A brilliant take on Tim's tag! Hugs, Anne xx

  2. Wow Angela your Tag is famous! I like it more than Tim's Tag because your background is not so colorful,so that the heart can better come out. The lace and nice fabric and buttons work perfectly together. I love it.

  3. Gorgeous work as ever, Angela. Thanks for your encouraging comment - unfortunately I am still here - we were well down the track to my admission yesterday and was suddenly told that there wasn't a High Dependency Unit bed available for me, so the operation has been postponed. No date yet.
