Hi Workdesk friends.
Another Wednesday and I am here to show you:
"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".
If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the
Stamping Ground and our dear host Julia will explain and all will be revealed.
A dear blogging friend Deb-Paxton Valley Folk Art recently told me I am like a Mad Scientist.
This is one of the nicest things anyone has said to me in a long time Lol!
As I am not one to disappoint, I have some more testing to show you today.
So here is my desk for this week.
For some time I have had some Mod Podge Melts and although I have tried them I wasn't happy with my glue gun so I have treated myself to a new one which is proving much better and here it is:
This is a Dremel with two heat settings which is much better when working with the glue sticks as some need a hotter temp. and some a cooler one.
Add some paint and gilding wax and they are transformed into something quite different.
More samples for your delight.
I particularly like the Steampunk piece with the cogs though they all worked well.

Mad scientist! What a nice compliment. I'm not willing to experiment with things. I just want to know that they will work and how they work so I'm impressed by those of you who are willing to try different things out and report back. Your glue creations are fabulous! I love the idea of a glue gun with two heat settings - mine is on it's last legs, in fact I think it's only old glue that's holding it together so I might treat myself - thanks for the tip! I agree with your friend about you being a creative experi-mentor :) Whenever I come by your blog (usually only Wednesdays because I am busy doing art and not computer oogling) you seem to be using something new I want to try (I still have no tyvek!) Love what you did with the glue sticks. I wanted to try making some of those masks using glue for my gelli plate printing...but I can't FIND my glue gun. Guess I need to go get a new one like you :) Shel#45

Oh I do like the look of that glue gun I'll have to go source one out as the one I've got is really flimsy. I've made frames with the modge podge glue sticks then painted with acrylic paint. I really like the antique look. Anita 63

Your bellies have turned out really well. Did Iain get you into this? I tend to stick to clay or UTEE but then I don't have such a super glue gun. Looks a beauty and I am envious.

I've made embellishments out of air dry clay with Sculpey and Kraft Lady moulds. I've also got half a dozen jars of Opals (an Australian version of Utee). They have gone out of business, unfortunately, so I got them for a really, really good price. But, I have yet to get around to experimenting with them :)

ReplyDeleteI'm still using Mr Dunnits Joinery workshop glue gun..the glue sticks are about a foot long and it has one very definite temperature, but i can see this moulding really appeals to me so I may well have to buy something more easy to use! Love the gilded pieces you've done.
