WOYWW - 953 - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

 Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey. 

Hi Workdesk friends. 
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk. 
I am here again to show you:
"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!

I have been so busy making the baby journals that I've not had time for anything else so the desk is still full of stuff waiting to be sorted and put away.

I have however almost finished the first one which is the Baby Boy journal and I'll show you a few pics of it further along.

In the centre of the desk is a plastic folder with lots of baby bits and bobs.

To the left are bits of left-over paper that I'm turning into journaling cards etc. Tiny doily and some very pretty ribbon might just be useful.

And on the right side is a tin with buttons, some flowers from the Craft Box and some coloured twine too.

This is the paper pack that I used for the journal. No way am I going to let that front cover go to waste you just wait and see!

Those of you with a good eye for hidden goodies might notice the label on the right which is an Karen Burniston die.

And to finish off here are a couple of 'sneaky peek' pages.

These are the first two pages.

I made this first journaling card for the Baby's details.

Hope you like this so far, nearly ready to start the girly one. 

Hoping now that I've made this one the next one should come together quicker as I have something to work from.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 265 - Create a Tag.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi! back again to tell you that it's time for another challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers.

Dr Monika is hosting today and our challenge is 'Create a Tag'. 

As usual you can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to be cards as long as it meets the challenge.

Hope you will join in.

And here is my project for the challenge:

Not just one tag but three.

Started with a Masterboard....naturally!

I used an AALL and Create and a Studio Light stencil and stamps for this and Distress Oxide ink.

Tags by Inkylicious.

Used the tags as a pattern to cut out the Masterboard.

Added some AALL and Create die cuts.

I used some Press N Seal to pick up the die cut.

Add the glue lightly to the die cut, position on the card and stick this down. Gently pull the Press N Seal away from the die cut as shown above.

All ready for the next stage.

Added some more stamping.

And so to the central images.

Cut these with some left-over Masterboard and black card.

First I had a little play with the triangles to decide on the arrangement.

And then layered them down. Added some Washi Tape too and some black cord under the main triangle.

To complete the Tri-Fold I've added a Tim Holtz sentiment, Tracy Evans border stamp and layered the tags onto black card then trimmed this to the shape of the tags.

Finally some hole reinforcements and ribbon.

I couldn't resist adding some glaze to this large triangle as the focal image.

Friday Fun Day.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

That tree in the lake has now gone.

That's all that's left.

But fear not because we were there to see it go!

We arrived in the park to find this:

And this:

And in no time at all they were busy shifting it.

And now it's gone.

I've been busy in my own garden too doing some trimming and pruning.

This is really pretty and flowers at this time of the year but I have no idea what it's called.

This is the whole thing, a sort of push I guess.

Bonsai garden all tidy.

If you're going to garden you have to be able to make a mess! but it's all cleared up now.

If you look towards the pond you will see there is nothing around the edge....well now there is.......

I had the shock of my life while gardening as I didn't see the Heron land but did see him take off from the edge of the pond and I can tell you he was big and the Koi may look like dinner to him but he's not having them if I can prevent it.

The pond is netted and in theory the Heron need to be able to walk into the pond to catch the fish but they will stand on the edge and peck at the them even if they can't catch them.

The fish being stupid and greedy will swim up to him in the hope he's got food for them so they are not very bright but they all look okay so I must have scared him off just in time.

So here is my desk for today!

Not much has changed. I know I should be feeling guilty because I still have new stuff in the Exploding Box that has not been opened but I don't as I've been working on this Baby journal and as it's not something I do very often it's taking me a while to complete though I am working on it around other stuff that has a tighter completion date, visiting mum, doing her shopping and housework, walking dogs, doing our gardening, you know the usual.

However I am enjoying doing the journal as they are papers I wouldn't normally work with and they are so sweet which is something else I don't normally do....sweet is not my thing!

So this is one of the pages I'm just about to start on. The piece to the left is one of those Karen Burniston 'Twist panel Pop-up cards' which was much easier to work than I expected it would be, in fact you can just see part of the die on the left side of the journal.

Behind it are two quite old wood mounted stamps and some Martha Stewart punches.

The white box to the right holds some brads and stuff that I thought I could use with this too, had them for ages.

On the right is a small plastic tub which holds the remains of some Halloween bits, just finished that card and the rest is glue and scissors.

There is a Tim Holtz stamp set just to the back there which has lots of insects on it.

This is further to the left where my shame resides at least for the time being.

So that's me done for today.

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with this Masterboard:

I used a variety of stamps and stencils on this Masterboard 

Martha Stewart, Midnight Media, Stamp in the Hand, JudiKins, Tim Holtz. Many of these are old wood mounted stamps and I thought it was time they got another airing.

Now there's plenty of the Masterboard left over so I'm sure you'll see it again sometime.

I then cut out a section of the Masterboard for the background and then die cut Tim Holtz spiders web, bats, dripping border, the spider and the Halloween sentiment.

After layering these onto black card I added the Goggly Eyes and some Stickles Glitter glue and mounted it on to a white card blank.

Now I know we're not there yet but this is just to get you in the mood for Halloween and I have something really special to show you later this month.

Friday Fun Day.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

Been for our usual walk in the park.

Don't know if you remember this tree that came down during the wind earlier this month but..........

It's still there..........

and the leaves are dying off now and I can't wait to see how they plan to shift this.

Just managed to get a pic of Maisie hill climbing.

These mole hills obviously need watering.

The cygnets are as big as their parents now and you can see with this one that they've been rung.

Him-in-doors came out and tidied up at the back of the cabin with some concrete so I've got my water butt back.

And the new grass is growing nicely.

             I don't know how this got here but it had appeared in the park.

                         

And Graculus is back too.

Just in case you have forgotten who he is:

                  People of a certain age may well remember this!
