This week I have been working on a Masterboard using only Tim Holtz stuff. I am planning to enter this in the new challenge blog at
A Vintage Journey - 'Anything Tim'. If you haven't seen this challenge blog I would pop over and have a look.
And also SanDee and Amelie's Steampunk challenge - 'Transparency'.
I know this is normally posted on Mondays but I may not be around so I am posting it early.
I started in my usual way with an A3 sheet of paper.
There are a lot of photographs today but the stages should need less explanation.
If there is anything unclear please leave me a comment and I will get back to you.
Firstly heat embossing with several Tim stamps. I feel that the stamps are one of the things he does so well. What a great range and such lovely vintage style so they are used to make most of this project.
Gradually adding browns from his range of distress inks.
And adding more stamping images using the brown inks.
Once this is dry, if you rub over it with a soft cloth it will remove ink from the embossing and help it to stand out better.
Here is a collection of some of the stamps used.
I cut out the end sections using one of his cutting dies then embossed and coloured them with a blending tool and distress ink.
I then cut the Masterboard into sections to fit the flattened tubes and started decorating them with various Tim Holtz stamps.
And here is the journal constructed and complete.
I also stamped and heat embossed onto acetate to make an overlay for the front page.
This is the overlay folded back.
As you can see the tubes make great pockets.
I also stamped onto some transparent paper to give added interest.
The images are either stamps or from one of the ephemera packs.
I'm sorry there are so many photographs this time but really wanted you to have the chance to see the whole journal.

(As it is a steampunk make too AND has some semi transparent paper used in it as well you could enter it to SanDee&amelie's Steampunk challenges too, you know? *wink).
