Friday Fun Day.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Welcome once again to my Friday Fun Day and hope you enjoy looking.

I have had lots of fun making this card for my friend.
It's her birthday today so I know she wont mind me showing you this.
I like to make her a Halloween style card and she likes them too.

One of my favourite techniques, this is a Bendy Card.

This view shows the bendy bits.

I used Tim Holtz dies to make this and Paper Artsy 12" x 12" papers.
It's not easy to see but I highlighted the die cut shapes with Stickles Glitter Glue and the drips are made using the hot glue gun.
When the glue was cool and set, I rubbed over these with silver Treasure Gold. The chimney's smoke was made using some black net and a little metal pumpkin completed the project.

These are very easy cards to make and the instructions can be found here on my blog.

I am so hoping this will make her smile on her birthday and hope it makes you smile too.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too if you like.

Thanks for stopping by,

WOYWW 334 # What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

And this is what's on my desk today...

Close-up.

This is a card I am making for a friend.
It's her birthday on the 30th October so it's always a good excuse to make her a Halloween themed card.
Now I know you will be saying show us the card but it's not quite finished so you will have to wait until Friday and then I will post it.

By the way, the embossing rollers have nothing to do with this project it's just that I re. found them in the loft and thought I would bring them down stairs but as yet have no idea whether I will use them!

However I have a little something to show you to make up for all this Lol!

Remember my desk last week which looked like this....

Well! this is how it turned out.
I know some of you have seen it already so I apologise if that's the case.
If you would like to see how I made this the link is here.

Well that's me done for today and I am off now to see what everyone else is up to.

Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

That Craft Place Challenge.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

And here is my next design for :
That Craft Place Challenge Blog.

As usual this fortnight's theme is:
Mixed Media Anything Goes!
So lets see what you can come up with!

This time of the year always inspires me so it wasn't difficult to find something to work with.
I have spent a lot of time walking in the park and gardening, getting everything ready for the winter.
The light is so different and the colours too which change almost by the day until everything takes on a warm autumnal glow.

And this is where it took me.

I started off with a frame from That Craft Place they come in a pack of two in different sizes.

I started by taking some old brown wrapping paper and screwed it up very tight, opened it and then glued it down onto the front of the frame. I wanted the creases to show on the surface to create a nice texture resembling bark.

Once this was stuck down and dry, I painted it with a coat of white Gesso.

From here I started adding colour using Aqua Tints with a brush and also dripping the paint down the frame.

These photographs were the inspiration for this project.
And you can probably see where I got my ideas for:
 the colours,

 the texture

the focal point

and the embellishment.

Once I was satisfied with the colours, I rubbed over the surface with Classic Treasure Gold gilding wax which really makes the texture pop.

Leaves next.
These were made using card that I had prepared earlier by spraying it with a variety of inks with Mica. This gives a lovely glow to the colours.
I used a variety of dies for this including:
Tim Holtz:
Layered Leaf (die and embossing folder).
Tattered Leaves.
Holiday Greens Thinlits.
Impression Obsession Leaf dies.

Then used my embossing tool to shape the leaves.

Next I started to play around with the arrangement of the leaves, replacing the frame to check how these would look.

When I was satisfied with this I attached the frame to the base using Cosmic Shimmer glue.
The tree was made using a die by Tim Holtz called Branch Tree and given highlights with Treasure Gold gilding wax.
I added some net amongst the leaves too.

Gradually I built up the outside of the frame and attached the spider's web which I had painted black and highlighted with silver gilding wax.

To complete the frame I added a metal embellishment and some toad stools. Both of these are available from That Craft Place. I added some stickles glitter glues to the leaves and the spider.

So there you go, a beautiful Autumnal decorated frame.

I hope you enjoyed watching me make this and it would be great if you could pop over and see what the other DT members have been making and maybe join in the challenge too at:

Many thanks for your comments
and
happy crafting,
Angela x

Friday Fun Day.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Welcome once again to my Friday Fun Day, hope you enjoy looking.

This week my real Fun Day is today as I am out with a group of friends that I used to teach with.
Some of us are retired and the others work part time and we try to get together regularly to catch up and generally have a good old gossip.

However I have also been busy this week in the garden supposedly tidying up ready for the winter but also taking photographs for a new piece of art work so thought I would show you a few of those.

Hope you enjoy looking.

Here is my inspiration for the next project.
Gorgeous colours and textures.

And such a perfect web, they always seem easier to see at this time of the year.
You will be able to see on Sunday how I used this inspiration.

These were a surprise to find in the garden and definitely made me smile. I had grown the grape vine in the greenhouse for years and never got any grapes so rather than just dump it I planted it in the garden and what do you know! we have grapes!

They are quite small but taste gorgeous.

One of the local squirrels came round to see what I was doing, they are very nosey!

So those were my fun days for this week.
Hope you will pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie for "This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too if you like.

Thanks for stopping by,

WOYWW 333 # What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

At the moment I am waiting for things to dry before going onto the next bit.

These are all the bits and pieces I have prepared to decorate a wooden frame. The papers are hand coloured mostly with sprays containing Mica and used those to die cut the leaves.

Here's an overhead view so that you can see everything a bit clearer.
I hope! I coloured the frame with Aqua Tints and then rubbed over the textured stuff with Treasure Gold gilding wax which you can see in the jars.

I need to get this finished now as I will be posting it here on Sunday 25th October.
You could pop over for a look if you like.

Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Workshop Day.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Just here to show you some photos of this fantastic group of ladies who attended my workshop today.
We were making a mini Wallet book like this one :

Some of you may remember this as I have shown it before when I first made it.

Here they are working away on their own interpretation.

My original wallet was made using Prima papers but today we are using a variety of Graphic 45 papers.

The aim for today was to complete the basic wallet, mat and layer it with background papers and the ladies are doing the decorative part for homework they have promised to complete these for when I see them again in November at the Hels Sheridan workshop so I look forward to seeing how they have completed them and will of course post the finished work here.

Hope you are all having a great weekend
and
happy crafting,

Friday Fun Day.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

My Friday Fun Day this week took place last weekend so I hope you don't mind that it was rather earlier in the week. It was such a good day with so many lovely people that I just have to celebrate it.

So Saturday I joined a group of ladies at the Newark Showground for a great workshop run by Oyster Stamps.

The workshop was Finnabair style and the tutor was Barbara Nicholson from Prima.

And this is what we made.
I have tried to take photographs but as I am sure you will understand I was just a bit busy Lol!

Just a few first to start of the day:

Here are the ladies and gentlemen arriving, the building looks a bit sad at the moment as they are about to give it a Make-over.

And here's Rob the MDF Man.

These are the bits and pieces we started off with including the cuppa, naturally!

We started by ripping up the page from an old book and sticking this onto the canvas in a random fashion.

Here's Barbara doing her last minute check that everyone's got their stuff ready to start.

Sorry Barbara, caught her unawares that time!

And so to work.

The next stage was to add some texture paste through a stencil.
Just love the Prima stencils.

Next add a few embellishment such as lace, buttons, metal stuff and we also used the glue gun to make some gorgeous blobby things which you can see top left and bottom right.
Now paint all over this with Gesso.

Which then takes on to the colouring stuff.

I chose to use a lovely delicate lilac which is a bit difficult to see, a gorgeous red and a certain amount of black.

The golden colour was added by the means of mica powder.

Here we are still working away and having a lovely time!

And here 's my friend Elizabeth with her new friend Ann.
It's lovely how many new friends you  make at these things.
Happy smile there from Elizabeth.

And this is more or less where I got up to and it's all ready for the photograph to be added.

These are just a few of the photographs I managed to take during the workshop.

And now!!!!
Drum Role Please!!!!!

My finished piece. Taa Daaa!....

(Well! finished for the time being Lol!)

Hope you like it.

Hope you enjoyed looking and thanks for stopping by.

Happy crafting,
