Friday Fun Day with smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

We actually went into town but only because we needed to go to the bank.
Thought you might like to see the Lincoln Imps though only a few of them as they are scattered all over the city and that would have taken hours to photograph them all.
So here goes.

These are all part of the Lincoln Imp trail and there are 30 in all.

These were designed by local artists and raise money for St. Barnabas Lincoln Hospice.

The designs celebrate Lincoln's art, culture and heritage.

The town was fairly quiet when we got there but soon got busy. It felt a bit strange as it's a long time since we were in town.

This covered the front of one of the shops.

Some of them are really quite cute though I think
 imps can look quite scary.

If you choose to visit you can get a brochure explaining the trail and what all the imps stand for.

Other than that I've spent some time in the cabin this week altering a candy machine which some of you may have already seen here:

I think hubby thought I would never show my face again but I'm back Lol!

And gardening too.
The flowers are looking really nice right now.

Hibiscus so pretty.

Shasta Daisies.

And a little visitor too.

Obviously can't leave without some dog funnies:

Given half a chance our two would be like this.
And definitely like this!
Mmmm..... and probably do this!

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

WOYWW - 634 - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
We are here for another Wednesday at the Workdesk and here is:
"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!

Just finished a project so the desk is not too bad today but will soon be busy again.
There's a whole pile of stuff waiting for me to get started just to the left there.
The object in the center of the desk is the finished project.

I've altered a candy/gum ball machine. There are details for this if you're interested here: if you do go over don't worry I haven't moved house just working in the cabin so a different desk.

New die too.
Can't wait to have a play with these.

So that's me done for today.

I have to pop out for a while this morning but I'll be back soon to visits all the other desks.

Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Angela x

Mixed Media Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Yes you heard right, no Masterboard today because I've been busy playing with something that I have  wanted to alter for a very long time, so here goes:

Yes it's a Candy Machine.

How cute is this! Well soon it wont be!

Here I am in the cabin, been moulding a few things ready to use on the project.

Not so pretty now and while I wait for the first bits to set......

I'm moulding a few shells with clear resin and glitter.

A few more pieces added and some white Gesso to seal the plastic and make it easier to add the colour.

I like the clear resin as I find that if you heat it up after it's cured it softens slightly and you can bend it gently which is how I did this with the seahorses and then glued them to the globe. Also added some of the shells and fish that I had moulded earlier.

These are part of three Mould sets that I got from Hobbilicious.
Two are by Finnabair and the other Zuri.
I've attached these together with Gel medium and left it to set. I like the Art Basics by Prima but there are other makes you could use too.

Then added some Hobballs also by Hobbilicious. These are available in different sizes too and a coat of Gesso.

And so to the fun part.

This is Pentart Patina Effect which comes with this brass colour and several shades of green.

So I started adding the colour.

Looking good?

And so to the finished project.

I completed this by adding some tiny pearls.
This is the top section and I love it.

You can see some of the shells better here.

And the finished piece with the shells inside, no bubble gum I'm afraid.

I'm not sure how clear this is but I've also added Decoart Iridescent paint to the Seahorses and shells which is almost clear but looks lovely when the light shines on it.

Any way that's me done for now.
Hope you liked it.

I would love to hear your comments.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:

Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

Mostly garden jobs this week and everyone's looking good in the pond.

The new filter has a cover now but the job's not complete yet as I need to do some re-arranging with the rocks to tidy everything up.

If you don't like bugs I should look away now! otherwise you may find this interesting.
This is the biological/mechanical filter which you don't normally see as it's tucked away at the back of the pond and would usually have a lid on it too.
This has a lot of wildlife inside that work to purify the water getting rid of the ammonia and nitrite (Nitrogen Cycle) which is not healthy for the fish. This turns into Nitates which the plants use like a fertilizer.

This is Zeolite which absorbs ammonia and is also
a favourite part where the bugs (Microorganisms/Amphipods) like to live.

I tried to get a close up but not sure you can see any of the bugs that live here but I can tell you there are plenty of them which is good.

The water comes into the filter here.
It's not easy to see but this produces a swirling action which starts the cleaning process.

The water then moves onto the brushes which collect any loose thread algae and large particles.

This is filter matting, dirt or fine algae is collected here and the Nitrifying bacteria collect here too.

And even finer matting polishes the water to help clear it and of course the bugs like it too.

Finally the Zeolite.

This is the last part before the water goes back into the pond.

So that's how this box keeps the water nice and clean.

I did visit a friend last week that had been poorly and she happened to say that she would like a tree for the garden.

I was worried that it might be too close to the house so this week I've dug out a young White Lilac for her, not a tree obviously but they can be trained to grow quite tall and trimmed to look rather tree like so hope she likes it.

It's only a baby but a nice shape and so far it looks as though it's surviving the move from ground to the pot despite all this hot weather.

Now I can't leave without a smile obviously!

 They must know Stan!

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.
