Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Here today to show you more of the cards I've made using
the Masterboard my friend Gloria sent me.

Just a reminder, here is the Masterboard:

I am working on making as many as I can from the one Masterboard which if you are making Christmas cards for lots of people, you will understand. I also have to send many of them by post so they need to be flat and these are my objectives for this project, so here we go.

This week I decided to try out an idea of using it as the inside of a window card which again would only use a small amount of the Masterboard and here is the example I made.

  • Use the Spellbinders Christmas bauble die to cut the white card. Emboss it with the M-Bossabilities Winter Wonders and colour and edged it with Dusty Concord Distress ink and apply Stickles Glitter Glue.
  • Die cut the star Garland and text.
  • Place the ribbon to the front, tucking the ends to the back and attach then mount onto the purple card and onto the card blank.
  • Attach the text and stars and add more glitter.
I used:
  • A plain lilac card blank, a sheet of purple and white card and a piece of the masterboard.
  • 2010 Heirloom Ornament Die by Spellbinders.
  • M-Bossabilities Winter Wonders embossing folder.
  • Dusty Concord Distress Ink.
  • Stickles Glitter Glue.
  • Sizzix Thinlits Happy Holiday text dies.
  • Marianne Garland Star die.

I Hope you liked it and it may help you if you need cards for posting as it is quite flat.

Have a great week
and
happy crafting,

Friday Fun Day

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Welcome once again to my Friday Fun Day, hope you enjoy looking.

I just thought you might like to see these. If you know Sheffield (South Yorkshire) you may already be familiar with them.

It was a quarter of a century ago that Meadowhall opened its doors to South Yorkshire customers in 1990 and to mark the milestone, 11 heart sculptures have been created and sent to charities, community groups and other partners from across the city to decorate for the ‘Meadowhall Hearts’ exhibition.

We often take my mum shopping there though dad prefers to stay at home (this will make sense to you later).
We usually refer to it as a shopping centre but I guess our American friends would call it a shopping Mall.

So here are a few of them.

This brings back memories for us as a family as we were some of the first people to visit it.
There is a little story here because my father ended up on the local news.

My mum and I had gone into a shop and the men as usual waited outside (it was a girly shop Lol!), when we came out they couldn't wait to tell us that Calendar news had interviewed dad while we were in the shop.
We didn't give it another thought until it came on in the evening and there he was.

The presenter asked him what he thought of the shopping experience and dad said.......

'It's Mayhem! absolute Mayhem!'
I can understand what he meant though as the place was so busy you could hardly move, good old dad, tell it how it is!
Still the news people obviously liked it.

Hope you enjoyed my little story and thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too if you like.

Thanks for stopping by,

Hels Sheridan Workshop.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am sure you were expecting my usual Monday offering and I hope that you will not be disappointed that it is something a bit different this Monday.

This was one workshop I have so been looking forward to and I was not disappointed, we used so many great techniques to make this lovely canvas and the company was brilliant! (They know who I mean X).
This is the example that Hels showed us to get started.

And everyone started to gather round.

Here's Hels all ready for the start.

 And demonstrating the first stages.

Obviously I can't show you everything as that wouldn't be fair to Hels but here are just a few snippets.

So off we went to start our own.......
beginning by arranging the papers to decide on the layout.

Flowers next and obviously the all important cuppa Lol!.
Hels does have instructions for the flowers on her blog

And here are the ones I am working on.

The next technique we used included the Melt Pot. Love it!

Just look at that action! Brilliant!

Still with the Melt pot but a different technique.

And yet another technique with the Melt Pot, what a great piece of equipment it is!

These are a few examples of the projects made.

Hels first of course, lovely!

And some samples from the ladies who joined us for the workshop.

 And finally my own.

So many gorgeous canvases, you have to love them.

I would like to thank Ali for organising this and Hels for being a great tutor and look forward to seeing them both again soon.

And of course thanks to all of you especially anyone who leaves me a comment, I will definitely visit you back my friends.

Happy crafting,

Angela xXx

That Craft Place Challenge.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

And here is my new design for :
That Craft Place Challenge Blog.

As usual this fortnight's theme is:
Mixed Media Anything Goes!
So lets see what you can come up with!

This time of the year always inspires me so it wasn't difficult to find something to work with.
I have spent a lot of time walking in the park and gardening, getting everything ready for the winter.
The light is so different and the nights are closing in.

And this is where it took me.

I started again this month with one of the rectangular frames available from That Craft Place. These come in a pack of two.

This gorgeous lace is from That Craft Place too.

I took a piece of corrugated card and cut it to the same size as the frame and then prepared a piece of the lace to go onto the card.

Next lots of sticking stuff on.

Some net and a coat of Gesso.

This is not easy to see but I used one of the stencils from That Craft Place on the frame.

Next I started to prepare the moon and the bats (available at That Craft Place) and the back panel.

I gave the frame a coat of black Gesso and started adding the colour.

Adding some Fresco Finish and Cosmic Shimmer Matt Chalk paints and rubbing over the frame with Treasure Gold

Until.... we ended up like this....

The owl was one I found in my stash and coloured it appropriately.

I hope you enjoyed watching me make this and it would be great if you could pop over and see what the other DT members have been making and maybe join in the challenge too at:

Many thanks for your comments
and
happy crafting,
Angela x

Friday Fun Day

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

One of my favourite things to do and often gives me the most inspiration, walking in the park.
And that's were my fun day came from for today's posting.

It's a walk in the Park!

It's so beautiful at this time of the year (well any time actually!)

This is not my dog he just had to get on the photo Lol!

A few panoramic shots, couldn't resist playing, nice though.

And finally!
Someone always has to get in the picture and here he is.

Showing off!

And his wife, who obviously was not amused as we had nothing to eat today so turned her back on us and trotted off, well waddled actually!

So that was my fun day for this week.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too if you like.

Thanks for stopping by,
