Friday Fun Day with Smiles

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

Rufford Abbey Country Park.

We decided it was time for a day out as the weather was good last Friday.
We haven't been here since before Covid started.

This was originally a Cistercian Abbey but was then converted to a house after the Dissolutionment of the Monasteries.

It's a lovely place to visit, very relaxed and even better when the sun shines.

And when you've done looking at the house it's time for a walk round the grounds.

This is the path that leads to the start of our walk.

The seats you see along the left side are all memorials.

At this time of the year they like to dress the place up a little.

As you might expect it's Halloween style right now.

This is one view of the lake.

And the Dam and Spillway.
I'll show you later where this water ends up!

I'm sure this is not good for you but it sure tasted good after the long walk round the lake.

And this is where the water ends up at the Ford.
There are always people stood at the side watching the cars go through and taking photographs.

It says Road closed but you can get through it with a suitable vehicle so you can guess we were not driving the MG today.

We went through gently.

However I have found you a few photographs of what can happen here.....

This is how it is normally and well....the rest are just crazy!

These people must be mad!

Or maybe they fancied a swim!

There are definitely times when it becomes very deep.

Crazy or what!

I think they will be the funnies for this week!

but will finish with a few pics of Daisy.

She saw Stan go upstairs the other day.

I cannot imagine what was going through her head but she was tempted to follow but stopped there.

And later when I went upstairs this happened...

Three steps further up this time but that was as far as she got and I am not giving her any encouragement.

Then Stan arrived from somewhere to see what was going on.

And then he decided that was enough for today.
I am sure this game will develop further soon!

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for "This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your smiles too.

Sending hugs,
Angela x

Rufford Park Ollerton Nottinghamshire.

A big welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Blogging buddies,  I am a bit late posting this as it was last week that we went to Rufford park, took my mum for a day out.
The photographs are a bit limited because she cannot walk too far but thought you might like to see them.

My husband and I have a kind of bond with this place as we first visited it when they had just opened the craft centre and gallery in about 1980.
The Abbey was still unsafe and fenced off but lots of work has been done and now you are able to go inside.
But there's lots more than this and sometime when we go again I will take more photographs.

This is the stable block which leads to the craft shop, gallery, restaurant, cafe and orangery.

There are also various activities which take place throughout the year which can be found on their website.

We just love it and I think you would too,
