Friday Fun Day with Smiles

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

Rufford Abbey Country Park.

We decided it was time for a day out as the weather was good last Friday.
We haven't been here since before Covid started.

This was originally a Cistercian Abbey but was then converted to a house after the Dissolutionment of the Monasteries.

It's a lovely place to visit, very relaxed and even better when the sun shines.

And when you've done looking at the house it's time for a walk round the grounds.

This is the path that leads to the start of our walk.

The seats you see along the left side are all memorials.

At this time of the year they like to dress the place up a little.

As you might expect it's Halloween style right now.

This is one view of the lake.

And the Dam and Spillway.
I'll show you later where this water ends up!

I'm sure this is not good for you but it sure tasted good after the long walk round the lake.

And this is where the water ends up at the Ford.
There are always people stood at the side watching the cars go through and taking photographs.

It says Road closed but you can get through it with a suitable vehicle so you can guess we were not driving the MG today.

We went through gently.

However I have found you a few photographs of what can happen here.....

This is how it is normally and well....the rest are just crazy!

These people must be mad!

Or maybe they fancied a swim!

There are definitely times when it becomes very deep.

Crazy or what!

I think they will be the funnies for this week!

but will finish with a few pics of Daisy.

She saw Stan go upstairs the other day.

I cannot imagine what was going through her head but she was tempted to follow but stopped there.

And later when I went upstairs this happened...

Three steps further up this time but that was as far as she got and I am not giving her any encouragement.

Then Stan arrived from somewhere to see what was going on.

And then he decided that was enough for today.
I am sure this game will develop further soon!

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for "This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your smiles too.

Sending hugs,
Angela x

What a lovely place to visit...esp on a sunny day. Daisy attemping the stairs made me smile. The house where Milly went for her holiday last week had stairs but she's never seen stairs before with us living in a bungalow so I dont think she was tempted....but she did have a whale of a time.
Hugs,
Annie x

Beautiful building and the grounds are lovely too. Enjoyed your photos of the ford - I can see that it's even better fun than train spotting! I'm sure Daisy will be nipping up and down those stairs in no time at all, with or without Stan's encouragement. Elizabeth x

You certainly picked a lovely day for your visit! The Grim Reaper in the graveyard made me chuckle. Another week and Daisy will be napping on your bed lol. Take care and have a very happy weekend, Sue xx

I'm a bit late visiting, but stopped by to see how you were. Beautiful old abbey and grounds that were lovely. Had to laugh at the cars. Daredevils. It won't be long now till Daisy finds her way upstairs. Those photos are priceless.

Gosh that water gets deep - do people not realize? I love that photo of Daisy with one paw raised. If you edit the photograph to get rid of the slippers, it would look great framed. x

Rufford Abbey looks impressive will have to remember it if I'm in those parts. I think you were braver than me crossing the ford even with the low level. It's lovely to see how much Daisy has grown. She'll be up those stairs pretty soon xx
