WOYWW - 736 - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
We are here for another Wednesday at the Workdesk and here is:
"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!

Hope you're all having a good week.
The exploding boxes are looking good, quite tidy for a change, other than that not much change on the desk as we've been a bit occupied with stuff for my mother.

A few more Gel plate cards that I'm planning to use next but need to add some stamped detail first.

A few new sentiment stamp collections and one stamp relating to the sea though I don't know what I will be doing with it but I noticed it when ordering the others and liked the look of it so we'll see.

I have another card to show you.....

Kate Crane stamps.
The balloon dogs are floating today and if you are interested there are details on my Monday Masterboard post here: this is a fun card to make.

So that's me done for today.

I'm off to the Crafting Live at Doncaster at the weekend so might have something interesting to show you next week.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Masterboard Monday, Use it or lose it.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with one of these Masterboards:

I had decided to go through some old folders and found these lovely sheets of Gelli prints which I made years ago.
I am guilty of playing with techniques and then storing them away and now it's time to get them out again.

I have been stamping and colouring some Kate Crane stamps (she just designs the kind of images I love) and thought it would be nice to combine these with my prints

and here is one of the results.

The sentiment is by AALL and Create and I finished the design with Stickles Glitter glue and shiny metalic cord.

I absolutely love this angler fish, he has so much character.

I would love to hear your comments.
I'm sure we'll be back here again soon.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

Angela x

WOYWW -582 # What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

So here is my desk for today!

Slightly staged for my dear followers.
As promised I am showing you some Gelli prints.
The paints on the left are Eco Green Crafts Acrylics. They are made from Natural pigments and the tubes are recycled plastic where possible. You may notice on the left that I seemed to have gained yet another exploding box!

This is a close up for you of the prints that I posted here on Monday and if you would like to see more you can find all the info here:
Now I did say that this was staged because I am actually working on my tube box at the moment, hopefully you will see that soon.

So that's me done for today a nice quick post.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with this Masterboard, well one of them at least:

I always find when I start using the Gelli Plate it's difficult to stop so quite a few samples to work with.

And a finished card too.
Despite the distraction I did get round to using one of the samples.

The method used for this sample is one that Kate Crane often uses where small blobs of paint are placed onto the plate

and then you use a brayer to spread the ink but this must be done carefully so as not to mix the colours which could create mud.

I'm using Acrylic paint for this project stamping it with some Carabelle texture plates and toilet rolls.
The paint must be moist for the paper to lift it but if it's dry just cover the whole thing with a thin coat of white or a pale colour and then apply the paper. Any colour left on the plate can also be lifted in this way.

I used the same texture plate to stamp onto the card blank.
The first one was stamped with a full ink load and then I used up was was left by stamping the card with small sections of the stamp to give a grungy Look.

There are many ways to create the design but I find it's better to choose just a few tools for the job at least to begin with say three different things.

I like to keep all my Gelli stuff together at the ready and that is one tip I would give you, always make sure you have everything before you start and that includes the paper you intend using.

I like to place my Gelli plate on a craft mat but you could use a sheet of paper just as long as the surface is flat and smooth.

The samples you see here were made with Sellotape and then any left-over spaces were gilded but you could add mica powders or glitters, anything that would stick to the sellotape.

These samples were done on black card which gives a different finish. I used stencils and bubble wrap on
these.

Always clean the plate thoroughly before putting it away (baby wipes are good) but do this carefully as it is possible to damage the surface.
Often you will see artists saying that you don't need to clean the plate during the process but just watch out for any paint that clumps as pressure  again could mark the plate.
This plate has been used several times but still looks almost like new.
The same goes for the brayers (rollers), clean these thoroughly when you've finished.

One more look at the card and a close up of the print.

I also used up some of the die cut waste on the card. I quite liked those and it seemed a shame to waste them then finished off with a die cut sentiment and some enamel dots.

I would love to hear your comments and any tips for this technique.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

Angela x

WOYWW - 569 What's On our Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!

You will see that not much has changed mainly due to family stuff as my father fell at the top of the stairs and they had to take him into hospital, sadly he died yesterday.
My mum has taken this quite well and I think it has been easier for her because he was in hospital but we'll see.

So not much really going on here.
I haven't done anything with the new tube box on the left or the new tub of Paper Clay.
The tin on top of the spotty red box is full of  Promarkers.
I have some new magazines that I got when we went shopping for food and the green can is varnish that I sprayed on the ammonite tube that you saw last week so you can see that not much has changed.

These stamps came with the magazines and I'm hoping they will serve as a suitable distraction.

I did make some Gelli Plate printed Masterboards last week.

And made a card with one of these which you can see in the post before this one.
If you've made Gelli prints you will know that when you start making them you soon get pulled into the technique. It's difficult to know when to stop, usually when you run out of drying space really.

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to though it may take me a little longer today.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Angela x
