Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
I'm here today to show you a card made with these samples:
I've been having fun with this stamp by Seth Apter which might be obvious from the samples above.
It's called 'Universe' by Impression Obsession and is one of their 'cover.a.card' stamps.
I kind of got a bit carried away once I started and made far more samples than planned but how much did I enjoy doing them!
I used Tim Holtz distress inks for this and applied the pad direct to the stamp with various colours.
I would advise applying the lighter colours first or using something like the Misti which allows you to stamp one colour at a time or the colours could be applied with a brayer too.
With some of these prints I sprayed the stamp lightly with water which also gives another interesting effect.
The next two look quite faint but are gorgeous in real life and were the second push of the stamp.
And I know you will be asking "what did she do with them!"
So here is the first card I made.
I started by stamping on some spare pieces of card I had coloured earlier using more Seth Apter stamps.
Then cut these out using some of Seth's dies which are great as they fit well with many of the stamped images. I edged them with black distress ink ready to use.
Next I took one of the samples done earlier and used part of the stamp below to apply the word 'TIME' and heat embossed it.
The circles in the centre are one of Seth's stencils and a die called 'Broken Maze', the circle to the left is a die called 'Ring Around'.
Now it's time to start layering the die-cut pieces and I mounted the finished design onto coloured card and a black card blank.
This is how it looked when complete.
However it's not quite what it looks here!
Because when you stand it up this happens.....
Hope you can see that the layering in the centre has moved and yet again here.
Wonder if you've worked out yet how this works!
More repositioning again.
And a close-up.
Have you worked it out yet?
The diecut pieces are all attached to one another with brads which allows them to be moved in different positions.
I think this card fits really well with the industrial nature of the stamps and dies.
Don't ask me where the idea came from as it just arrived in my head when I was trying out the positioning of the pieces. I just could not decide where I wanted them to be placed so now they can be almost anywhere you like!
I finished the card by stamping on the inside too.
You can see the dimension here but it's not so much that it wouldn't fit in an envelope so that's good too.
I hope you found this interesting.
I would love to hear your comments and
more cards with this technique will follow later this week.
Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,
Angela x
I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:
A Vintage Journey Challenge: The Magic of three and in this case I've added three very similar circles attached to the centre image.
