Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

Lots of gardening when it wasn't raining.
This is not me by the way but it is my garden.
My friend took this pic. she lives across the road from us and it certainly made me smile.
I think it makes him look like a Gnome on the top of a great big toad stool.

Which reminds me that the mushrooms are popping up again in the park. We've not had any there for some time.

I love to see them popping up though obviously you need to be careful as these are poisonous.

They look as though they should have fairies sitting on them.

Not much else to show you this week so I'll end with a few funnies.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

WOYWW -595 - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!

I'd like to say the desk is a bit less cluttered but It doesn't look much different even though I did tidy up a bit.

To the left of the desk are two new Tim Holtz stamp sets. I just love those cats and the quirky snowflakes caught my eye too.

In the center I'm on to the baby girl journal pages and not so much to do now so hopefully by next week I will have made use of the new Christmas stamps.
You can just see that I've been making a pop out card with one of the Karen Burniston dies. It's one of those that twists when you open it.

To the right is just a tin containing buttons, a box with ribbons and tape that I'm using in the journals and my baby wet ones which I keep close as I'm such a scruff when I'm crafting.
The blue box holds all the tools that I use regularly though that could do with a good clear out too.

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge - 266: Things that go Bump in the Night.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi! back again to tell you that it's time for another challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers.

Kim is hosting today and our challenge is -'Things that go Bump in the Night'.

As usual you can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to be cards as long as it meets the challenge.

Hope you will join in.
And here is my project for the challenge:

Front

And here we have it a rather spooky midnight scene, even the pumpkins look worried.

Back
If you'd like to see how I made this then read on and if not maybe you'd like to pop over to the challenge.

Masterboards first of course.
This was just a piece I'd played around with earlier when making another piece. When making a Masterboard if there's spare ink around be it on the mat or needing to be removed from the project I always use another sheet of card, nothing goes to waste here.

More ink added until....

You're happy with the colour and then start to add the detail. Tim Holtz cobwebs first.

Several more Tim Holtz stamped images and then used the Karen Burniston Album, Accordion Flip 3D. (This is the older Bigz die by Sizzix and I believe they now do a thinlits one too.)
You simply cut as many of these sections as you wish and then join them together.

Stamped and coloured the Tim Holtz Pumpkins and fussy cut them out.

I added the pumkins, die cut cobwebs, owl, insects. broom, moon and bats.

I couldn't resist adding some extras to the back.

I hope you will
pop over to see what the rest of the DT have been up to and maybe join in the challenge.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with too.

Happy crafting.

Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

A welcoming bunch of flowers for you.
How pretty are they.

Saw this guy in the park it almost looks as though he's fluorescent though not keen on that pointy tail.

My beautiful bonsai are taking on their autumnal colours.

You can't see it from these pics but there has been lots more gardening going on again this week and hopefully not much more needed this season.
As we've not really been going anywhere it's been good to be out in the garden though I did go walking with my friends which was a nice escape for a while. We are lucky so far as the area we live in is low for the virus at the moment.

And just a few dog funnies to finish.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

WOYWW - 594 -What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

So here is my desk for today!

Hi all.
Not got the exploding box sorted yet as I'm still busy with the baby journals.
And as there's not much going on here today I'm going to show you something new.

I should feel guilty for buying these as I still have new stuff that I've not used yet but guess what!!! I'm not Lol!
I could hardly resist the Altenew set with great stamping images and a die too.

The second set has some nice sentiments and images so got that one but I also feel that I need some ideas for Christmas cards at the moment probably more than I need the stamps.

I think my head is so full of these baby journals that I can't think of anything else.
I'd also like to thank those of you that left me such kind comments about the few pages that I showed you last week.
I don't normally do nice clean projects like these but the papers are easy to use and I have enjoyed making the journals but I'll be glad when they are finished and I can get back to getting my hands dirty.
Don't worry I'll be sure that you get to see more of them soon.

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with one of these Masterboards:

There are a variety of projects that I made earlier from this collection which you can see here:, here: and here:
When I use the Gelli plates I tend to get a bit carried away so there's always plenty to play with.
So here's a couple more cards I've made and hope you like them.

I can't resist texture so I started by adding white crackle paste through a gorgeous Dina Wakley stencil onto the black card blank and the Masterboard.
The white crackle paste really pops out but you could add colour to this too if you prefered.

Then layered up a small section of the Masterboard on card and added a Birthday sentiment.

I played around with the positioning of the layered pieces before attaching them to the background.
I've not added anything else to these cards as the Masterboard detail is enough without any further embellishments.

I would love to hear your comments.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

Angela x

Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.
Been to take my mum her shopping and thought you might like to see where we've been.
I know this sign says North and South but if you live in London you will know that it's all North really and if you live in Scotland you'll believe it''s all South! Well it's all relative really isn't it Lol!

However if you know anything about the story of Robin Hood you may recognise some of the town names.

Of course Robin Hood wouldn't have seen this lot on the A1 towards Clumber Park which was originally part Sherwood Forest where you can still see the Major Oak. It is believed that Robin Hood slept in this tree though the story is a little confused as to who he was and what period in time he excited if at all.

This sign is actually in the village of Blyth, there's a nice Craft Shop here.

And here it is!

Blyth is a sweet little village.

This beautiful old  bridge goes over the river Ryton and was built in 1770 and has traffic lights as you can only get one car over at a time but they have kept it in good condition as without it the trip would take a lot longer.

This is what it looks like from the side view.
It's so good to see how well they have maintained this very old piece of UK history. It is Grade 1 listed so it should be maintained for years to come.

Beautiful landscape and woodland obviously.

We're just coming into the village now and you can just see the new builds that are taking place behind the old farm house.
Originally there wasn't much else here than farms until they opened the coal mine (now closed).
My great grandfather was one of the first engineers to work there and the family moved here from Staffordshire.

It's a pretty typical old style South Yorkshire mining village called Thurcroft.

And here is the really interesting bit, well I like it anyway.

A lot of people think that Sherwood Forest was only in Nottinghamshire but it actually went at least as far as Doncaster and all the streets where my mum lives have medieval names.

And the next one you might recognise.

This is the street that I lived in and where my mum still lives and you may recognise the name  if you are a lover of the Robin Hood stories.
Anyway that's the end of the history lesson for today!

Here's Maisie keeping an eye on stuff at my mum's.

And finally a few more puppy funnies:

Guess that's it for now and hope I've not tired you out.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
