WOYWW - 744 - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Hi Workdesk friends. 
We are here for another Wednesday at the Workdesk and here is:
"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!

And I'm still in the cabin.

You may remember that I was working on this desk last week. 

Now I have even more on the desk as I'm trying to decide what else I will use to decorate the box so there are moulded pieces and MDF.

The shelving at the back that you can see are where I store papers,card,journals etc.

I've added some stencilling to the outside but it's difficult to see that yet as the Gel medium I used dries clear but you will see it when I add the paint.

I've also added some more moulded bottles too.

I know some of you were interested in the rolling pin I've been using. I push the air dry clay into the mould, go over it with the roller then use a palette knife to scrape away the access so that it's flat in the mould.

I am looking at the posibility of adding something on the top of the box and this is my moulded octopus but not quite decided yet how this will develop.

I hope this will have moved on by the time you're back next week.

Mixed Media Monday.

  Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you some 3D mixed media that I've been working on:

I love the MDF projects by Hobbilicious and couldn't wait to play with this one.

Some of you have been watching the stages as I've gone along so it's only fair now to show you the finished project so here goes. Hope you like it.

Lots of moulded pieces went into the making of this piece by Prima, Zuri and Prosvet.

The MDF pieces are by Hobbilicious, and the black lace (Top side sections) by Prima.

I couldn't resist building up a little story around the back, just use your imagination my friends!

Another of my favourite dragon moulds (Prosvet).

The background was made using a Finnabair stencil and embossing paste. 

After adding the colour I finished the detail with gilding wax.

Side section.

So all finished with the addition of a few decorative items from my collection.

The wands are rock crystal and semi precious stones that I have collected over a long time and they just seemed to suit the cabinet and may well end up staying there.

Mixed Media Monday.

  Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Yes you heard right, no Masterboard today because I've been busy playing with something that I have  wanted to alter for a very long time, so here goes:

Yes it's a Candy Machine.

How cute is this! Well soon it wont be!

Here I am in the cabin, been moulding a few things ready to use on the project.

Not so pretty now and while I wait for the first bits to set......

I'm moulding a few shells with clear resin and glitter.

A few more pieces added and some white Gesso to seal the plastic and make it easier to add the colour.

I like the clear resin as I find that if you heat it up after it's cured it softens slightly and you can bend it gently which is how I did this with the seahorses and then glued them to the globe. Also added some of the shells and fish that I had moulded earlier.

These are part of three Mould sets that I got from Hobbilicious. 

Two are by Finnabair and the other Zuri. 

I've attached these together with Gel medium and left it to set. I like the Art Basics by Prima but there are other makes you could use too.

Then added some Hobballs also by Hobbilicious. These are available in different sizes too and a coat of Gesso.

And so to the fun part.

 

This is Pentart Patina Effect which comes with this brass colour and several shades of green.

So I started adding the colour.

Looking good?

And so to the finished project.

I completed this by adding some tiny pearls.

This is the top section and I love it.

You can see some of the shells better here.

And the finished piece with the shells inside, no bubble gum I'm afraid.

I'm not sure how clear this is but I've also added Decoart Iridescent paint to the Seahorses and shells which is almost clear but looks lovely when the light shines on it.

Any way that's me done for now.

Mixed Media Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Sadly Crafty Card Makers challenge blog has finished so my fortnightly card is no more but this means I have some extra time so thought it would be a good idea to get back to some serious Mixed Media projects.

I've recently joined the Creative Craft Academy. Hoping this will get me back in the mood and this is the first piece I've done with them. 

Hope you like it.

We used a small wooden memory box and a Finnabair stencil to decorate the top, added small brads on the corners then the Snip Arts pieces, moulded shapes and the brass dragonfly.

Lots of nice coloured pastes used through the stencil and also dry brushed onto the top and sides.

I added some tiny seed pearls and a golden gem on the dragonfly for extra detail to the focal image.

I liked the packaging so much that I used it to line the box.

Really pleased with this and can't wait for the next box of goodies to arrive.
