What No Masterboard!

I am here today to show you a card but no Masterboard as we've been away so time has been a bit limited but I'm working on one right now.

However I think you might like this.

I needed a quick card for a wedding anniversary and knew I wouldn't have much time to get it done so I've used one of my favourite techniques of stamping directly on to the card blank and then adding a stamped, embossed and diecut image. 

I also used a small stamp with bubbles from a different set and love how well it fits in. 

The sentiment stamp is by Creative Designs.

The glasses are Strawberry Margarita by 'Stamps by Me' and come with an embossing folder, layering stamps and  a die so what more could you ask for and I used Distress Oxides for the colours.

The bubble stamp was a freeby from a magazine.

A few strips of Washi tape to ground the main elements and some Stickles Glitter glue and it's done.

WOYWW -580 # What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Hi Workdesk friends. 
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk. 
I am here again to show you:
"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!

In the centre is a new magazine with free die and next to it on the left are the moulded pieces for the tube box. 

To the right is a tub of Gesso, a box full of ...well all sorts of gloves and cleaning cloths, the little red spotty box has some paper clay in it. 

The box to the side of that has card with numbers and letters and below it the all important Huggies.

On the left side of the magazine the box holds some moulded pieces waiting to be added to the tube box.

The box next to it holds lots of sample pieces.

Since we were thinking about all those UFOs I've been sorting some boxes hoping to use up some half made projects and found these.

I originally put these together as samples but thought it would be nice to make some of them into cards.

One of my favourite techniques that I've not done for ages. I've stamped the Tim Holtz stamp onto black card and embossed it with gold powder and then stamped into UTEE which had glitter flakes and mica powder mixed in it.

When the UTEE has cooled and set I've glued it to the heat embossed card so that parts of the stamped image are still showing.

Same idea again using half of the stamped UTEE which was coloured with mica when cool.

Who knows I might even get these made into something soon.

You may notice that to the left of this is a new exploding box full of stuff, let's hope it doesn't explode!

  So that's me done for today.
Sorry still not got round to using the salad spinner as I've been a bit distracted with a few things but don't worry I will show you when I get round to it.

Friday fun Day with Smiles.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

Things are not the same as usual and as we're all forced to stay in doors I decided to get out my journal and do something different for a change so here goes.

It's ages since I did anything in my journal let alone Steampunk style so that's the theme for today.

I've used several makes of stamps for this project including Creative Expressions small light bulbs, The Artistic Stamper large bulbs including the ones with the cogs inside and the sentiments are by Visible Image.

The background colour was applied using mica inks so are quite shiny and then the black ink added after the stamping to give depth to the design.
I completed the layout by adding some white pencil highlights, Stickles Glitter glue and some die cut chains.

Other than that I've been busy moving stuff into my new craft cabin. The weather has been lovely here so for once the ground was firm so a good time to move stuff down there. 
Definitely had a good amount of exercise carrying stuff down from the loft too.

This is where I was up to at the beginning of the week but there will be more pics to follow soon.

Masterboard Monday.

 Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with this Masterboard:

Now you may be wondering how I got here, well this is where I started.

First thing was a bit of gardening, picking ferns.

I'm sure you want to know what happened here:

• I started by wetting a sheet of Watercolour paper. Just take a large flat brush and spread a thin layer of water on the surface.
• Next add ink allowing it to move around a little. I used Spectrum Noir Aquatints but other inks will work too.
• You must keep this wet before adding the leaves so if it looks as though it's drying out just spray a little more water on it.
• Place the leaves on the ink and then put another piece of paper over this and some weight to keep everything in place and then stop. 
• This will take several hours to dry and you must not be tempted to remove the covering to check. Leaving it over night is good.

If you've managed that you should get an effect that looks like this.

Gorgeous! 

The leaves seem to bleach out the areas where they were placed.

Now don't waste the leaves yet as next I stamped with them.

Cover with ink, place onto the card and put a sheet of paper over the top and brayer/roller.

Once I had stamped on the Masterboard I also stamped on the card blank using first and second generation ink.

I so love the effect you get.

Rather than use the original masterboard I have scanned this and printed it off to create this card.

The scanned image looks like this:

I have also had fun editing this in Picasa to change the colours but that is for another day. 

So here's how the card was completed.

I've combined a small section of the Masterboard with the card blank but still lots of white showing, some die cut ferns with Stickles glitter glue and you might just notice there's a spider on here too. The sentiment stamp is by Woodware.

I've only used a small section of the Masterboard to create this card so plenty left over for more projects.
