Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Here today to show you the Masterboard I sent to my friend Gloria and the cards she made with it.

I made this Masterboard using distress inks, stencilled the background, then stamped over it with Jofy06 Christmas stamps.
A little glitter finished the Masterboard.

The Mirror Crack'd Challenge # 9 - Make a Triptych

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Here we are again for another challenge at The Mirror Crack'd and this month it's Make a Triptych.

Instead of a physical prize this month we would like to offer our Winner a Guest Designer spot for a future challenge.
Do hope you will pop over and join in.

As you will all be aware the word refers to three.
Historically it referred to a set of three associated artistic, literary or musical works intended to be appreciated together.

For this project I decided to use a Wooden Triple Icon as seen below.
I apologise for the number of photographs but wanted to show you how I made this.

I started this project by sanding the Icon lightly and then sealing the wood with Gesso.

Here are the stamp sets I used with this project and the Icon painted with Gesso.

So here we go....
Started by applying Ferro through a Tim Holtz stencil and allowing it to dry. As I will be painting over this the colour doesn't matter.
The Treasure Gold will be used later.

The lettering was applied through a Crafters Workshop stencil using Grunge Paste.
This is probably my all-time favourite and is called Mini Silhouette Script.

From here I covered the Icon with the following paints.

And using this little collection! for the next stage.

This included some areas of crackle.

Next I started to add the Treasure Gold.
If you look at the right hand side, I have started to buff this which makes the Treasure gold nice and shiny.

I then stamped and coloured some of the images from the JOFY stamp sets and finished these by glazing them..

This is the front of the Icon which I decorated in a similar way.
And completed it all by rubbing some of the Treasure gold around the edges.

And here is the finished project.

Masterboard Card Ideas

Hi Blogfriends, still having fun with the JOFY Christmas stamps, set 06.
This is the sample I have made for my Ali-Craft Blog project so hope you will pop over there to see what's going on.

This is the set that Ali asked me to use for this project.
I just love them and you get so many stamps for your money which is great.
These stamp so well and very clearly.
If you have a look at earlier posts you will see some of the other samples I have done.

I loved these stamps so much that I also bought the next set, 03.
This set has some great images for focal points.
I always feel happy when a design has a background, foreground and focal point.
Composition and good balance makes the design special even in a simple card like this.

I started by making a Masterboard, those who are familiar my work will know how much I love these.

First using the large stamp and perfect medium, emboss with clear embossing powder.
Next colour the background by covering a craft mat with distress ink, spritz it with water and drag the card over it.

Next using Peacock Feathers distress ink, use the same stamp but offset the images as shown below.

Then use the border stamp from set 06 and stamp four times.
The card I used for this is actually what I had used to clean the mat.
Never let it be said that I waste any ink lol!
These need to be cut out ready to use as a border for the topper.

Next stamp the baubles from the set 03 and decorate with stickles glue.
Stamp the sentiment from Set 06 and mount the topper onto green and silver card.

The design is now ready to be constructed.
After completing the topper, stamp the sentiment again using the same coloured ink as the baubles to create a reflective appearance to the words.

Well that's your lot, hope you like it.

Back soon.

Masterboard Card Ideas.

Hi Blogsters, still using the Christmas stamps by JOFY available from Ali-Craft and decided to try the brown craft card for this sample.

This is another quick card for all of us who are still needing to get those Christmas cards made lol!

I stamped the background first using a brown archival ink pad and then used the border stamp on the same card which I cut to shape ready to add to the topper.

I stamped the baubles from JOFY 03 set on cream card and added stickles glue for added interest.

I layered the design with more brown and cream card and gold mirri and then added the borders and finished this with gems and the sentiment stamp.
I also added some stickles to the background inside the card.

Back again soon with more quick card ideas.

Masterboard Monday Card Ideas.

Hi Blogsters, love making Christmas cards but when you need so many it's necessary to make some quick ones especially if like me you are always on the last leg getting them done.
So for the last couple of days I have been working on some quick cards using my latest Masterboard.
Hope you like them.

I used some of the left-over black card which had been embossed with white powder.
The baubles were embossed with black on white and then coloured with mica paints.
The tag is by Tim Holtz.
Christmas stamps by Jo Firth-Young, Ali-Craft have several different sets of these stamps.

Thought a tall card might be nice.

Back soon with more ideas.

Masterboard Monday

Hi Blogbuddies been making some Christmas masterboards.
I have been so busy that I have neglected my christmas cards but must get going or no-one will get one this year and that wont do, will it lol!
So, I have started with some simple masterboards, 'killing two birds with one stone' really as my next project for Ali-Craft uses these stamps.

The stamps are by Jo Firth-Young for Paper Artsy and are JOFY 06 Collection Christmas Stamps.

At this stage I have not added any colour but stamped onto various colours of card with different coloured inks and embossing powders.
They are now ready for the next stage.

 Few close-ups of the masterboards.

Back soon to show you what I have done with these.
