Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 207# 'Go Green'

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi! back again to tell you that it's time for another challenge over
at Crafty Cardmakers.

Judy is hosting today and our challenge is 'Go Green' .

As usual you can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to be cards, as long as it meets the challenge.

Hope you will join in.
And here is my project for the challenge:

This card was made using a craft card blank which I stamped with a sentiment stamp before adding some hand made background paper.
I used Distress Oxide inks to colour it and stamped over this with brown distress ink to coordinate with the craft card.
The sentiment is a Sizzix die.
Then ripped a small section off the background paper and attached them to the craft card.

I used the same craft card and background paper to cut out some Kim Dellow stamped flowers and a butterfly from an old book page, layered these up and added Stickles Glitter Glue.

To complete the card I added some clear gems.

And here is the finished card.
Hope that is green enough for you!
A variety of Green inks and reused book pages but you can interpret the challenge how you like.

I hope you will pop over to see what the rest of the DT have been up to and maybe join in the challenge.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with too.
 Happy crafty card making.

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
I am here today to show you a card made with this Masterboard:

Yes you've seen it before! here.
It's made with Paper Artsy stencils designed by Kim Dellow and  have already used it on another card.
This is an A3 sheet which goes a long way so there's always a bit left over for that card you forgot to make Lol!

This time I've taken the bottom right which is mostly shades of green and yellow to make this card.

  • Take a white card blank, white and dark green card to layer and cut to size using a Sue Wilson die.
  • Then cut the chosen section of Masterboard into three pieces and layer with more card.
  • Before mounting onto the other layers I attached a small piece of yellow ribbon to enhance the colours.

So here we are...  what next?

It's usually at this stage that I tend to leave them for a while. I realise this is a very busy background and you might just want to put a sentiment on it but don't worry I took it a bit further!

Stamped and fussy cut some flowers using the Kim Dellow stamp set EK Do6.
I felt it need something with a little less detail so I used craft card and stamped it first with the same sentiment stamp that I used on the Masterboard.
Finished them with some die cut centres from the Masterboard and Sparkle Glitter glue.

The Sentiment is a Sizzix Die.
I die cut this in black and yellow and then mounted them together.

I would love to hear your comments and of course I will be able to visit you back once I know where you are.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with this Masterboard:
I found this amongst last year's collection and it had got put on one side and stayed unused so decided it was time to put it to good use so here goes.

  • Kim Dellow stencils, apply Gel through the stencil and allow it to dry which gives great texture and resists the inks which were added next.
  • Add the colour using Distress Oxides with a blending tool and wipe over the gel detail to remove the ink.
  • Stamp the text and rub with a dry cloth to remove the ink from the flowers which gives the effect of the text appearing to be behind the detail.

Now this may take a while to make but once you have it you can scan and copy it if you like which will give you more to work with. A laser printer is best for this and you can then alter the colours too with an art program if you wish but well I have just cut up the original as I like the texture too.
How ever you choose you can make cards very quickly and you don't need a lot of extra detail with something as lovely as this. You have great detail while still having a nice flat card to go in the envelope.
So here's what I've created with the first section.

And here is the finished card.

Mounted in sections with craft card blank, lilac and white layers cut with Sue Wilson dies and a square of the Masterboard on top.
Before attaching the Masterboard section I tied it with a Lilac cord and then added some Tim Holtz butterfly dies and Sizzix sentiment die.
The butterflies were completed with matching Stickles glitter glue.

I also used some of the matching stamps to decorate the inside of the card and added a stamped sentiment.

Hope you like the finished card. Still loads of the Masterboard left so you can be sure there will be more cards to follow.

I would love to hear your comments about this project.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy creative week,

Back to the Craft Barn with Kim Dellow.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi everyone just here to let you know this is another project for the Craft Barn and it's live now.

I've been working with  Kim Dellow stamps and here is a peek of how I used them.

Everything you see is made using the technique of stamping.
Stamped background, the images stamped and fussy cut. love that technique, layering the stamped images to give depth and to add more detail I used a white pen over the flowers.
If you would like to see the stages in making this card then pop over to The Craft Barn for full details.

Tutorial for making this project is available now at The Craft Barn.

I would love to hear what you think about my project and any comments will be gratefully received.

Look forward to seeing you at The Craft Barn.

Happy crafting,
