Masterboard Monday well not today!

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you another catch up Mixed Media project from Anna Hersom:

Another canvas project, gorgeous resin and Snipart pieces too.
The raised strips at the back are stencilled strips of card which give a nice lift to the design.

Normally I paint over the resin but this time left it cream and finished it by rubbing over it with wax to give an aged effect then applied the flowers, a great way to soften the design. The butterfly was covered glazed with Glossy Accents.

Hope you like it.
I would love to hear your comments.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

WOYWW -777- What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
We are here for another Wednesday at the Workdesk and here is:
"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the
Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!

I'm trying to get started with the ATCs but not much happening yet. Packet of left-over card pieces and several dies so far.

I'm looking happy as I'm in the cabin again this week trying to complete more Mixed Media projects when I should be working on the ATCs actually!

This is from last week.

A couple of pics here though there are more on my Monday post
This has been on my desk all last week as I had to stick bits at a time and wait for them to dry before adding more so that's my excuse for not starting the ATCs!

Finally lots of ink and I'm loving the finished design.
There are more details here:

So that's me done for today. I know you don't mind a quick post.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Angela x

Masterboard Monday but not today, again!

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you another project that I've been working on. The kit is an old one by the Creative Craft Academy (now 'Mixed Media Classes'):

I like to do my own designs and construction but sometimes it's just nice to have the kit with everything you need at the ready. I find this quite relaxing.

So just a quick visit to the project starting with the stencilling on an oval canvas and then a layer of Gesso.

Resin elements added. These all come as part of the kit.

And then some SnipArt chip board pieces.

Lots of spraying with red and orange inks and a little Mica powder rubbed over the surface.
I finished this with the brass watch cover and bees and then added the flowers and postcard.
All done and hope you like it.
I will get these projects finished but there's more to follow yet.

I would love to hear your comments.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

Angela x

So here was my desk earlier in the week!

Another kit from Anna Hersom.

This beautiful resin owl is the main image.

I'm not going to bore you with long written details as I'm sure you will work it out for yourself what's going on so here goes.

Black Gesso.

Blue spray ink.

Stencil stars with shiny stencil paste.

Mica paints.

Prep for the finish, gold paint, glitter shards, sentiment and today's desk looks like this ......

We're done!
I did alter the original design slightly but happy with it.
What about you?

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.

Canvas art using Seth Apter dies and stencils.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

When I saw this new challenge at A Vintage journey I just new I had to join in.

It's some time since I worked on a canvas so thought I'd give it a go and here are the results.

I started with a box canvas

using it as a shadow box.

I began by covering it with pages from an old book which is always a good way to cover the staples.

Then crumpled up some more for the back.

Added texture using a variety of Seth Apter's stencils by Stencil Girl.

For the inner section I used a piece of corrugated card which I grunged up by removing some of the paper covering and then scraping the surface with the side of my scissors.

Next I added some die cuts also by Seth Apter and
then painted this with Gesso. I generally start with white Gesso as I'm not always sure at the beginning what colours I will end up using.

Then decided to cover the whole thing with black Gesso and when that was dry I started some dry brushing using Seth Apter paint sets by Paper Artsy.
The die cuts below are also by Seth Apter and I used texture paste on some before then painted them all.

This piece was decorated using a Seth Apter stamp and heat embossing.

This close-up shows some of the gilding wax which was also added. It works particularly well on the screwed up paper only catching the textured areas.

I also added some Clear Prima pebbles which I rubbed over with silver gilding wax.

Close-ups for a better view of the detail and the sentiment which was also from one of Seth's stencils and quite appropriate I felt for this canvas.

The large metallic button was something I've had for a while and it just seemed like the right time to use it. Rubbed over it with gilding wax and added a smaller pebble.

Side view.

 Back View.
Really feels like that could be the start of another project!

The sentiment is also from one of the Seth Apter stencils by Stencil Girl.

It was about now that I decided it needed a little something extra!
A little rubbing of Gilding wax and it's ready to be attached.

And here is the finished canvas.

It may not make a lot of difference but it just felt finished with that extra embellishment on top but what do you think?

Hope you enjoyed watching me make this.

I would like to enter this Canvas in the following Challenges:
