WOYWW - 877 - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
We are here for another Wednesday at the Workdesk and here is:
"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit
Sarah's Craft Shed and our host Sarah will explain.

So here is my desk for today!

I've been working on male cards again and just finished this one which is why there is a small tidy space on the desk, very small!

This is one made from stamped masterboard pieces that I made ages ago.

The note book that you can see is what I use to work out my cards.

Thought I'd better show you the journal page now it's finished.
There are details about how I did this here:

And to make you smile (I hope) another Steampunk Ai photo of Daisy.

I love the little skirt they gave her to wear.

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and visit the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww

and
happy crafting,

Retiform Technique.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you another card using the Retiform technique. I'm having such fun with this and hope you're not bored with it yet.

This would make a great Christmas card but is actually a Birthday card for a friend who works in France during the Ski Season which I hope explains the wintry scene.

Here you can see the inside and more of those left-over strips.

And I've decorated the envelope too.

Just trimmed the design, layered it onto some blue card and a 5" x 7" card blank

Hope you like it.
If you need more details of how to make a Retiform Masterboard or card you can find the instructions here:
Just finished it with a sentiment, Stickles Glitter Glue and enamel dots.

I would love to hear your comments.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

Masterboard Monday

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with this Masterboard:

I don't make many cards for men and when they are needed it just takes me an age to decide what to do so I've created this Masterboard which will make several cards at the ready for when I need them.

If you've used this technique before you will know this as Retiform but if not you might need instructions which you can find here:
I generally make my Masterboards on A3 card but you can do this technique on any size card.
I like this technique as it encourages me to use more from a set of stamps where often I've only used one or two.
Whether you use a set or not you need to choose a number of stamps that work together.

So here is my finished project.

These stamps are magazine freebies.

Those who know me will be aware that I just can't waste anything and there were a couple of strips that were trimmed off so I decided they could go inside the cards.

It's not very clear here but I've added some Stickles Glitter glue on the watches.

And here's the second card.
While you're making one you may as well make another.

What do you think about these for the man in your life? and still plenty of Masterboard left for later.

I would love to hear your comments.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

Masterboard Monday - Use it or Lose It.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with this left-over Masterboard:

I'm still trying to empty this folder! and there are loads more just like it to come!

So this is the piece I took out.
I had plans but found myself limited for time so thought it might be a good idea to make some quick cards like the one below.

These are great for men but could equally be good for ladies too depending on the paper pattern you choose.

So I started by cutting the Masterboard to size using white and Kraft card blanks.

You then need to cut a section for the top and die cut the bottom edge.
I have embossed it and shaded the edges with Distress Oxide ink but you could leave it blank or even stamp on it.

I used some more of the left-over paper to create a die cut sentiment and attached a few enamel dots to complete the design.

So here you have two fairly quick cards for men.
Although I used some of my own Masterboard you could just as easily use printed papers too.

I would love to hear your comments.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge -259 Masculine.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi! back again to tell you that it's time for another challenge over
at Crafty Cardmakers.

Margaret is hosting today and our challenge is Masculine .

As usual you can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to be cards, as long as it meets the challenge.

Hope you will join in.
And here is my project for the challenge:

I actually think this could be useful for other occasions too like an autumn birthday or even a female that likes gardening maybe.

All of these stamps and dies were freebies from magazines and I love the leaves which I have die cut from some more of my Brusho papers and I think it really works.
I finished the card with a little puddle effect under the wellies using Stickles Glitter Glue.

I hope you will pop over to see what the rest of the DT have been up to and maybe join in the challenge.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with too.
 Happy crafty card making.

Masterboard Monday. Masculine birthday cards.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a couple of cards made with some left-over Masterboard:

There's always left-over Masterboard at this place!

Masculine style cards today.
I've tried to slightly different ways to use up this clock style background paper.

I so love these wavy dies to use on layering pieces to your cards though I found the sentiment die a bit strange to position as that's a bit wavy too.

Clean and Simple but it works.

If you need a quick card then this is for you.
Just add a few enamel dots or gems and the card's complete.
I've made these for men but the same design used with different papers could be for females or children, just choose your background papers to suit.

I would love to hear your comments.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with this Masterboard:

This is actually left-over from an earlier project and was stamped using this ink.

I used the green blue and purple side for this this design though I think there are signs of a little bit of pink too.
I have had these inks for years and I can tell you they are still Big and Juicy! I love them.

I have also stamped the card blank and it's probably easier to see the colours here. I applied the ink and sprayed the stamp with water before stamping with it. I have done a few of these to use later.

This is the stamp I used by Sam Poole, love it.

I wont leave it any longer, here is the finished card.

I've layered up a small piece of the Masterboard with some matching card and cut out a Tim Holtz pocket watch then stamped on this using this stamp by Lisa Horton.

This is actually a Steampunk set but the sentiments are great for all kinds of occasions.

As you can see here it stamps really well too.
It may not be obvious that I used the clock stamp on the die cut.
I applied the ink to the clock with a blending tool and then using the clock stamp, sprayed it lightly with water and applied it to the colour, left it for a minute or two and then pulled it away which removed some of the ink.
This technique is often called Faux bleaching.
If you look closely you can see the images on the stamp.

Then I thought it would be nice to apply the stamp inside the card too.
The Birthday sentiment is by Woodware.

To finish the card, I added some enamel dots and some cord to the pocket watch.

I think this would probably be a good card for a man.

So that's your lot, hope you enjoyed looking at the process. I would be really pleased if you could leave me a comment no matter how small.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge # 235 - Masculine.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi! back again to tell you that it's time for another challenge over
at Crafty Cardmakers.

Marg is hosting today and our challenge is Masculine which I have to say I never find it an easy theme.

As usual you can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to be cards, as long as it meets the challenge.

Hope you will join in.
And here is my project for the challenge:

I am still trying to use up some old patterned papers and this looked like a good time to do it.

These are by Hot Off the Press.
I added the stamping on the pocket, collar and button Placket to give the effect of stitching.
The tag was part of the paper pack and I added some shiny cord and a brad to hold it.
The buttons are from my stash collection and were applied with a hot glue gun.

This must be one of the quickest cards I've ever made but I love it and I did end up making a few but will show you those another time.

I hope you will pop over to see what the rest of the DT have been up to and maybe join in the challenge.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with too.
 Happy crafty card making.

Black and White.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with a restricted colour scheme, in this case black and white:

I just fancied doing something a bit different and here it is:

I started by using a Tim Holtz stencil with white ink onto a black card and layered these onto white card.
I printed these Visible Image stamps onto white card and then layered them onto the black.

I completed the card with some square sequins in silver and gold which fit great with this stencil.
The stamped light bulb was completed with gold Stickles glue and I edged the card with black ink.

I love this finished card and hope you like it too.
I think this might well make a good masculine card.

I would love to hear your comments.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 190 # For A Special Man/Boy or Father's Day.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi! back again to tell you that it's time for another challenge over
at Crafty Cardmakers.

Margaret is hosting today and our challenge is 'For A Special Man/Boy or Father's Day'.

As usual you can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to just be cards, as long as it meets the challenge, and doesn't exceed the 15 total challenges entered rule!

Hope you will join in.
And here is my project for the challenge:

Naturally I can't leave you without showing you how I made this so here goes!

All my UK friends will remember these old car Tax Discs.
I ripped these apart and arranged them on an A3 white card.

Next I used a Prima stencil and applied ink with a blending tool.

At this stage it looks like this.

I finished this off with text stamping and Colour Bloom Spray Mist.

Everything is ready now to put the card together.

The blue mat has the centre cut out which was then used to layer the other sections. This is something I do often as it makes the card lighter and stops wastage of card.

So there you have it all finished.

I hope you will pop over to see what the rest of the DT have been up to and maybe join in the challenge.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with too.
 Happy crafty card making.
