Crafty Cardmakers Challenge -260 Create Your Own Background.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
And I'm back again to tell you that it's time for another challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers.

Jackie is hosting today and our challenge is: Create Your Own Background.

As usual you can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to be cards as long as it meets the challenge.

Hope you will join in.
And here is my project for the challenge:

A 'Z Fold' Card today.

As you can imagine, if you know my blog well this challenge is right down my street and I started by making a simple A4 Masterboard.

This was just a piece that I'd used to mop up some ink for an earlier project.

So to this I added some leaves using an  Altenew stamp.

I wasn't quite sure to begin with and got these two out and ended up using the one on the right.

I used the same Distress Oxide ink colour for the leaves so that they wouldn't stand out more than the focal image.

And then cut the pieces to size and layering card too.
I wasn't sure which vase to use but these were left over from an earlier project and are stamped on velum using Altenew stamps and were heat embossed. I just love the stitch stamps so decided to use those to edge the layers.

After looking at the masterboard pieces I decided they needed more detail and I've used one of my old butterfly stamps by Hero Arts and still keeping to the same colour and black for the stitching.

I so love this. The stitch stamps are quite short so you just place them as you like to get your chosen effect.

The sentiments are by Altenew and the enamel style dots were applied using Nuvo Crystal Drops.

The flowers are also by Altenew.
The bud was originally at the top but so that it would fit the card I trimmed it off and placed it lower down so that it sits in the vase.

And here is the finished card again all layered and complete with a little shadow at the base of the vase to ground it.

And here it is open.
I know this style of card takes a little longer to make but I do like them, what about you?

I hope you will pop over to see what the rest of the DT have been up to and maybe join in the challenge.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with too.

Happy crafting.

Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

My mum is feeling a lot better and trying to behave herself after the fall.
I have found time to have a walk round the garden and here are a few pics of some of my favourite plants.
First another Clematis, very different from the one I sowed you the other week.

Red Hot Pokers too.

And look at these beauties! Netting the Cherry tree was not easy but well worth it.

These are big and beautiful with a gorgeous juicy taste.

Apples doing well.
These are Coxes.

And Brayburn.

Pears doing well so far.

It's difficult to get a good photo of the fish due to the net but this is the new fish. You can see it's quite orange in colour so we've decided to call him/her Jaffa.

I have done other stuff this week as I'm still getting the cabin finished and went walking with a couple of friends, social distancing obviously!
Been visiting mum too.

Obviously we need to finish with some funnies.
Sorry there weren't any last week as I was on the last legs getting the post completed in time but here we are today and hope they make you smile.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

WOYWW - 577 # What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends. Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:
"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!

Well yesterday actually as things have been a bit busy here so I took this pic early just in case.
My mum had a little fall earlier this week so I've been doing my crafty stuff in between visits.
She is okay and actually this happened because she's feeling better and thought she could do more than she was ready for.

Anyway, Christmas cards started with some more of my postage stamp Masterboards.
The tube box has had to sit and wait for a while but I will get back to it.
The pebble has had a little more added to it and is nearly ready to be varnished.

These are a few of the edge dies I've used on my cards and some Stickles Glitter Glues towards the back.

And finally some lovely old stamps by Stampotique and Magenta.

Some of you were having problem reading the font so I've enlarged it, hope that's better.

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
I am here today to show you a card made with this Masterboard:

You might think this looks familiar as I made a similar one a few weeks ago which you can see here with the tutorial for making and yes these are old postage stamps that I have collected each Christmas.

Once completed I've scanned it and altered the colours too, so much fun.

For this group of cards take one of the A4 copies and turn it over then draw the lines to shape the sections.

Then cut these out.

And this is how I completed the first card.

The sentiment die is by Tim Holtz.

Having made that one and several more, I started on another sheet to make these.
First I stamped onto the card blank.

Cut out the shapes.
By making the cards with these shaped pieces you can create quite a lot.

 And then put these together.

Finished them with die cut sentiments and Stickles Glitter Glue.
The background stamps are by Stampotique and Magenta and the sentiment dies are by Presscut and Creative Expressions.
I have also used dies to cut some of the masterboards and they are by Frantic Stamper.

Once you've made the Masterboards these are quick to make and nice and flat which is so important for Christmas cards that you post.

Hope you like them and I would love to hear your comments.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.
I don't have a lot to show you this week as I've either been busy trying to finish sorting the cabin or sorting stuff foe mum but here goes anyway.

I have spent some time picking strawberries....lots of them!

And we did call in at the fish farm on the way home from my mum's and this lovely jumped in the bag.

Obviously dog walking continues and the willows are bushing out after their massive trim.

Look at these! Only just enough room for everyone here.

And now we're off again.

You can only just see these two but they have tufty heads, not sure what type  they are.

And finally the cygnets. Mum has been teaching them how to get rid of those downy feathers.

Not a lot today but think these's enough to bring a smile.

I'm off walking today so I'll get round to see you all when I get back.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

WOYWW- 576 # What's On Your Workdesk Wedesday.

I have got a few things going on and seem to be flitting from one to another but did get the car finished which you can see at the back of the picture.

It's meant to be my little green MGB GT, I guess it's near enough.

I got some of those sticky sheets that ShazWolf told us about but not done anything with them yet.
Then you can see my old iron at the back which I use for weighting stuff down.

I've got a new journal and because I can never decide what to do in them (it's the blank page thing!) I am playing with some techniques and will later decide how to complete the pages.

So I've had a play with a couple of pages so far and you can see some old brass weights which belonged to hubbies dad. He used to be a butcher when weighing was done the old way with weights.

Sorry think I confused some of you last week the second was a card but I photographed it open so you could see the back and some people that saw it thought it was a box so sorry for that.
Here it is again:

So that's me done for today though I have posted a new concertina book on Monday and if you missed it you can find it here, you might like the idea.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,
