Masterboard Monday, Use it or Lose it.

  Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with this Masterboard:

It must be years since I made these papers on my Gel plate.

They have been sitting waiting for me to do something with them but sometimes playing with paper and paint without thoughts of how you will use the finished pieces is a good form of relaxation for the mind. 

So I took some of these and cut and ripped them up to create some grid collage masterboards.

I thought it was time for some colour and used the brightest ones I have.

Next was some stamping and stencilling.

I love the way these turned out.

Then decided to remove one piece and make it into a card. 

I've cut out the centre and mounted it onto a piece of black card and the base piece too.

Before mounting these together I added some metalic cord beneathe the top layer and then attached everything. Finished this with a diecut flower, stickles glitter glue and a sentiment by 'Studio Light'.

I love this card and hope you do too.

WOYWW -735 - What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Hi Workdesk friends.

So here is my desk for today!

Actually two desks.

The first one is in the cabin where I've been using my Gelli plate.

Just a few sample pieces.

Nothing much happenening on this desk today but I know lots of you wanted to see this card finished so here it is with the shrink plastic flowers added.

I like them both but the flowers work so what do you think?

If I'm a bit late getting round to some of you it's because we are still clearing mum's house but I'll get round as soon as I can I promise.

Masterboard Monday Use it or lose it.

I am here today to show you a card made with one of these Masterboards:

You may remember I showed you these old Gel prints before but still not used them up and I just have to make some space so here they are again.

I've used the one second from the left to create the background for these gorgeous stamped fish.

These are so much fun to work with and are stamps by Kate Crane for Carabelle stamps.

The sentiment was made on my Dymo Letter tag machine. I am loving this as I can make any sentiment I want.

I have added red shiny cord and Stickles Glitter Glue to complete the design.

Friday Fun Day.

 Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

What can I say the best thing about this week had to be the Craft show at The Doncaster Dome, a great day out.

There were plenty of people there but it didn't feel uncomfortably busy.

As you can see there are nice rest places too.

Took this pic for our Tracy.

Some body's having a good time here.

Really enjoyed watching the demos and having a good laugh!

I loved watching Kate making the pages for these journals too.

And some Gel plate fun.

I love the bright colours. Maybe I need to think about some brighter colours too. 

I feel inspired to get the Gel plates out! though I would have to have a tidy up first!

Some really pretty cards and tags.

And this paper that I hadn't heard of before called Dura-Lar but more about that another time.

It's tired me out looking through all that again but it was a great day.

And so to the finish, no funnies today as I haven't got round to looking for any to be truthful so I'm leaving you with this.

My mum. 

She's doing really well at the moment and it will be her 94th birthday this month. Not sure what the expression was about though.

Oh and this!

You may wonder what it is doing here. 

It's a jubilee bun sent to me by the cook at the school where I used to teach. 

That is so sweet of her, I miss them all.

Masterboard Monday.

I am here today to show you a card made with this Masterboard:

I've been playing with the Gelli plates for a change to create some Masterboards. It is so long since I had fun with these great techniques.

I've used Dylusion stencils to create the designs and acrylic paint.

Simple, quick and effective though once you start it's difficult to know when to stop, probably when you run out of drying space!

Then used one of these to create this card with the addition of Tim Holtz and Sizzix dies, finishing with some Stickles Glitter Glue.

Just have to decide what to do with the rest!

WOYWW #256 : What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday

Hi Bloggies another week on my desk and desks throughout the world, brought to you by our host Julia at the Stamping Ground.

And this is my desk today.
Not much change there, just enough space to work, well! how much space do you need lol!

Been working on a Paper Mache letter.

Other than that you can see the usual collection of craft equipment, like, glue/glues, trays for embossing, baby wipes, embossing ink pad, heat resistant mat, double sided tape, dies, ink pads, acrylic blocks, you've seen it all before probably on hundreds of desks. These are things we cannot manage without.

 

And so to the project for this week.

After covering the letter with gesso, I painted it all over with EcoGreen Raspberry acrylic paint and then added crackle glaze and allowed it to dry.

 

 

Next add the top coat in this case Sand and watch the magic happen!

I can't help it I still love to see the cracking appear lol!

 

Gorgeous effect.

 

Decided to cut out and attach stars for the back.

 

 

And then started stamping the flowers, 'Punky Flowers' by Chocolate Baroque, first on cream card.

 

This is a paper I made some weeks earlier using the Gelli Plate.

I stamped the flowers here too.

 

I stamped some of the flowers directly onto the letter, cut out some of the flowers from the patterned paper and attached them to the stamped images.

And this is where I am at the moment.

Will post the completed letter tomorrow.

Masterboard Card Ideas, using the Gelli Plate.

Hi Bloggies, I have been using another of my Gelli plate efforts to make a greetings card using Memory Box dies, hope you like it.

The acrylic paint was Raspbery with a touch of Waterfall by ecogreen Crafts and they are gorgeous colours.
I printed this onto a kraft style card and you can still see some of the brown showing through.
The mask is the large Shattered by Dylusions.

 

To bring out the green in the print, I layered the design first onto a shiny satin pink and then onto green card.

The bird and the bubbles are both Memory Box dies.

I completed this by stamping the sentiments and tieiing a pink cord before layering the design and applying black brads to the corners.

 

The nice thing is that once you have these background papers it is not difficult to prepare a card when you need one.
