WOYWW - 592 What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!

Not much has changed. I know I should be feeling guilty because I still have new stuff in the Exploding Box that has not been opened but I don't as I've been working on this Baby journal and as it's not something I do very often it's taking me a while to complete though I am working on it around other stuff that has a tighter completion date, visiting mum, doing her shopping and housework, walking dogs, doing our gardening, you know the usual.
However I am enjoying doing the journal as they are papers I wouldn't normally work with and they are so sweet which is something else I don't normally do....sweet is not my thing!

So this is one of the pages I'm just about to start on. The piece to the left is one of those Karen Burniston 'Twist panel Pop-up cards' which was much easier to work than I expected it would be, in fact you can just see part of the die on the left side of the journal.
Behind it are two quite old wood mounted stamps and some Martha Stewart punches.
The white box to the right holds some brads and stuff that I thought I could use with this too, had them for ages.

On the right is a small plastic tub which holds the remains of some Halloween bits, just finished that card and the rest is glue and scissors.
There is a Tim Holtz stamp set just to the back there which has lots of insects on it.

This is further to the left where my shame resides at least for the time being.

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to that is once I've walked the dogs but I'll be back soon.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Angela x

There are times when other things just take precedence, hope your mum is doing ok. The papers you've chosen for the journal are very pretty, it'll be interesting to see where they take you!

I am off to Google that card title, as it sounds interesting. I am with you on the not-sweet thing. My sister once commented on my blog challenging me to use a sweet image, rather than anatomically correct hearts an creepy people stamps. I did it, but it was a struggle, if I'm honest.

I recently unearthed a little set of tiny bug stamps. I am adding them in spall hidden corners of things now, just for fun...

:D

Happy WOYWW!

It's definitely a departure from your steampunk roots, Angela, but it's nice to do something different once in a while. I sometimes buy things as well and don't even bother to open them, until I actually need them. Happy creating - have fun with the baby album. xx zsuzsa #22

Hi Angela. Great looking journal. Using papers you don't often get out is so much more time consuming... have to go around looking for what goes with them!!. But glad it is bringing enjoyment.
How's your mum doing now? Is she coping well?
Take care. God bless.

Hi Angela, had to laugh at you saying you don't do sweet, I'd made the same comment in my post!Looks like you are doing a great job on the journals though, I think it's harder to work on something you're not 'feeling', at least I find it so.Stay safe, Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5 X

It's great that you have the opportunity to help your mum. Mine died 6 years ago and I miss her. Dad has remarried and we see him a few times a week.
I love Karen's dies! I have a few and need to play with them more!
Your desk is definitely in full use!
Have a great week! Thanks for popping by!

Doesn't matter how little you go out enjoying yourself the responsibilities of life never go away!! You have lots of lovely projects on your desk, glad you are enjoying the baby album even though it is out of your comfort zone - and always good to find a use for some of that older stash!! Forgot to post that after your talking about the Craft Box mystery boxes last week I had to order one - a great selection of stuff (none of which I really need must admit!!) and I enjoyed opening the box LOL. Happy Wednesday, stay well, stay safe, Cindy #13

Thank you for your comment. I didn’t mention Allhallowtide because it has been dropped by the church as a celebration and Sunday is the main focus of the Christian tradition. Halloween as a festival was celebrated by the Celts
Celts believed that on Samhain, the walls between our world and the spirit world became thin enough to allow ghosts to pass through and damage their crops. To mark the event, people would build huge bonfires to burn crops and give animal sacrifices to the gods. Huge feasts would be held and people would try and tell each other’s fortunes. All Hallows’ Eve began in the eight century as a Christianised version of Samhain. Christians would honour saints and pray for souls who had not yet reached heaven.
There is nothing remotely religious about Halloween, which is why it bothers a lot of people. I guess the same could be said of the way some people celebrate Christmas. Have. Great week Angela #25

Angela, we've all been there, haven't we??? Probably more than I'd like to admit. Unfortunately, we have to deal with life around us.....I wish it just revolved around my art!!!! LOL I don't do "sweet" either Angela, but when you are doing it for a gift, it makes it all worth it!! Would love those Tim Holtz stamps.....he does buggy, "Halloweeny" up right! LOL Blessings for the rest of your week! Felicia #27

Your baby journal is looking lovely and very different to your usual style, but it's good to mix it up a bit, I think!

HI Angela! It is challenging to work on a project that you are not totally comfortable with. I don't do cute either! But I know you will ace it! Love to see a desk with lots of "stuff" on it! No shame there! Thanks for your visit, have a great week, Lindart #28

I'm sure it's good for us to step outside our comfort zones once in a while, Angela! I can't say I'm very good at that, though... I'm definitely not a cutesy sort of person and would struggle with that, I think. However, I am certain that you will rise to the occasion and come up with your usual beautiful and high standard of work!

Thank you for your visit. The lamp certainly is good. My hubby assembled it for me because I didn't have the strength to push the casters in! We don't really need a translation of the "instructions" because it was pretty obvious how it went together, and I got the information about filling the base with water from the details on Amazon. It's annoying not to have the dimmer switch because the light is so darned bright!! Good idea to scan and search for a translation, though. Yes, the kitties are so amusing at times! Their facial expressions speak volumes, don't they! Glad you like the completed tiny carpet and my latest outfit too.

Happy WOYWW,

I don't do sweet either...it is pretty hard when a project like that comes up but I think you are doing a great job on the baby album. I have just got out all my spider stamps for Halloween projects - it seems I have a dozen!
Anyway happy woyww! Susan #7

Hi. Thanks for popping by. I look forward to seeing the completed journal! I found it really hard when I had to make a Wedding Card on SteamPunk theme. Not my thing. It was good to have a challenge. How is your mum doing? Getting on for four months since mum died. It is odd at times the things that trigger the tears. I think about her all the time. Anne x 29
