Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

I have a photograph to show you from the park.
They are putting the roof on the band stand!
So things are coming along there.

Sorry about the graffiti, it's not even very artistically drawn Lol!

A few of you were interested in my bottle collection too so here are a few photographs.

I make no apologies but you may get fed up with this as I do have a few scattered around the house!

These did not all come from the tip near us as my hubby dug some of them out when he worked on an Open Cast Mining site as a student.

Just the last few now.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

WOYWW 412 # What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday!!!! at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk!

Never let it be said that my little box is not ready for explosion!

Because it is!
Well not quite but couldn't resist that.

Back to normality.
I seem to have a bit of spare crafting time so thought I would have a play with some new stuff.

The dies on the left are by Seth Apter, can't wait to play with those.
The pile of cards are Seth Apter stamps by Impression Obsession, their Cover-a-Card stamps.
Just got started on one of them using his stencils and another of his dies. You might have guessed Seth's stuff is one of my favourites at the moment.

Now these little beauties arrived this week though there are still a few to come yet.

They are re-inkers for the new Oxide inks pads but I have other ideas for these.
Sorry to tease again but you will just have to wait and see!

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 187 # Pearls and/or Gems.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi! back again to tell you that it's time for another challenge over
at Crafty Cardmakers.

Josephine is hosting today and our challenge is Pearls and/or Gems.

As usual you can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to just be cards, as long as it meets the challenge, and doesn't exceed the 15 total challenges entered rule!

Hope you will join in.
And here is my project for the challenge:

I made this with some left over Masterboard which had been coloured with Oxide inks and embossed using Tim Holtz stencils and gel medium. The dies are by Memory Box which were then decorated with gems to match with the colours in the Masterboard.
The card blank was stamped using Oxide inks.

The card was completed with split pin brads to match.

I hope you will pop over to see what the rest of the DT have been up to and maybe join in the challenge.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with too.
 Happy crafty card making.

Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

Remember this?

Well when trying to get you a photograph of the new plaque that they have put up I'm afraid I ended up with a photo of me instead. Not sure you can even read what it says Lol!

More work going on in the new visitors centre, the roof has gone on now.

And they've fenced all of this off so I guess something else is about to happen.

As the weather was nice we decided to do a bit of gardening this week and I thought you might like to see what is over the fence.

We don't go through here very often as it's a bit wild.

There is an old Victorian/Edwardian tip/dump and sometimes we get bottle diggers. I used to come in and collect the stuff left behind and we do have quite a collection of bottles.
I could show you sometime if you like.

This is the view looking back towards the house.

Somebody thought it was funny to shut the gate before I got back in the garden!
Very funny I'm sure!

Anyway we're back in now!
'Him Indoors' who is actually out of doors today even got the ladders out to do some tree pruning!

I decided while the sun was out, to clean the Bonsai tables and pots.

And here they are all back where they belong.

Guess that's it for now, off to see what everyone else has been up to.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

WOYWW 411 # What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!

Desk just as I left it yesterday after finishing a project.

These are nice coloured skeleton leaves and there's one of my little rollers and a blank jigsaw waiting to be decorated.

I'm in-between projects at the moment so not much going on though the stuff left on the desk might be a clue.
Sorry to be a tease again but the boss wouldn't like it if I show you too soon however, I can show you some a card which is now live at The Craft Barn blog which I made a while ago when I first started playing with the Oxide inks.

There are details on the post below relating to this and where to find the tutorial that goes with it if you want more details.

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with this Masterboard:

I applied Prima 3D matte Gel through Tim Holtz stencils and allowed it to dry then added various colours of Oxide inks.
I only chose the lighter colours of ink as I wanted a nice bright spring like finish to the card.

Next I added text stamping, part of which can be seen here again using the Oxide Inks.
Once the ink was dry I rubbed over the stencilled areas to remove the ink giving the effect that the text was behind it.

Text stamp:

Dies by Memory Box next and then mounted the Masterboard onto matching layers of card which were placed onto a black card blank which I had prepared earlier by stamping using the same inks and text stamp.
I completed the design with matching ribbon, coloured split pin brads, stickles glitter glue on the butterfly's wings and a few extra small butterflies from my stash.

Hope you like this as it's not my usual choice of colours but a nice simple card for a spring birthday and if you use some left-over Masterboard, it's fairly quick to make too.

I would love to hear your comments.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

Remember this:

Well it seems to have become a wishing well as people have started throwing money in there.
How sweet is that.

The swan got off her nest the other day and I photographed this. Not absolutely sure but it looks like an egg.

The fish are all waking up and getting pretty active.

And the trees are waking up too.

Now what's all this about!
She's got the sewing machine switched on Lol!
Could it be that's she is making something!

I have one other thing to show you today.

My friend keeps getting up in the mornings to find this on the lawn.

Quite large holes all over the place.
We're not sure but think it may be foxes.
Have any of you seen anything like this before?

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

So here is my desk for today!

And it's a mess as I am between projects but you will just have to forgive me.
Some left over Seth Apter's masterboards and a new Punch Board.
You will just have to wait and see what happens here.

Everything else is about the same really.

But to make up for it here is a card I posted on Monday if you haven't seen it.
There are details for making this here.

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.

Crafty Carmakers 186 # Things with Wings

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi! back again to tell you that it's time for another challenge over
at Crafty Cardmakers.
Mary is hosting today and our challenge is 'Things with Wings'.

As usual you can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to just be cards, as long as it meets the challenge, and doesn't exceed the 15 total challenges entered rule!

Hope you will join in.
And here is my project for the challenge:

I couldn't resist playing with the Tim Holtz Oxide Inks again and I've made today's Masterboard using them.

I started here by applying the ink to my craft mat, spritzing it with water and pulling the card through it. Dry with your heat gun and repeat until happy with the coverage.

I then used Prima Finnabair stamp sets and added detail to the Masterboard.

Next I stamped the main image onto a section cut from the Masterboard and heat embossed it.

Then stamped and heat embossed the images on an old book page. Coloured these by using the inks with some water and a paint brush

and cut these out ready to apply later.

Depending on how I intend constructing a card one of the ways I like to embellish is by using the stamps on the card blank itself.
This has the effect of giving continuity to the design and added interest to the finished card.
Oxides stamp so well on black card so they show up really nicely.

I decided to add the same butterflies to the inside of the card too.

At this stage it's time to complete the main section by attaching all the features and adding suitable embellishments.
I did this by attaching some Dew Drop gems (nice bit of bling!), Tim Holtz tapes and die, stitched stamps to border the design and completed it with Pebeo Artist marker, splattering it over the design.

I try whenever possible to use odd numbers when arranging the detail as it makes the design more interesting and helps to move the eye around the composition.
This theory is known as the 'Rule of Odds' which produces dynamics in a design.
You can see this in my use of the three butterflies and the three circles popping out from under the main section though of course odds aren't the only part of a design that makes it interesting. 'The Rule of thirds' which effects the layout, the colours and of course the focal image used all adds to making the design more pleasing to the eye.
Sorry there I go again boring you with teacher speak!

I hope you will pop over to see what the rest of the DT have been up to and maybe join in the challenge.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with too.
 Happy crafty card making.
