Tim Holtz Tag for February 2015.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I have been planning to join in with the tags but other things just kept getting in the way, however I have made the effort (after a little push from my friend Kelly who thought my chocolate bar would be a good layout for the tag) and managed to get it finished, though it was tight. Thanks Kelly!

This is Tim's Tag for February 2015.

And this is mine.

I decided to use some of the Tim Holtz fabrics for my interpretation of Tim's tag plus the addition of some embellishments this is what I came up with.

I started with these:

And when I was satisfied with the arrangement I stitched the pieces together before attaching it to the tag.
I quite liked the button paper that Tim had used but didn't have fabric like that so I have actually sewn on some small buttons which seem to have worked quite well.
I have made the heart in felt but sewn it to another piece of Tim's fabric so that the heart opens up revealing the patterned fabric below.
The 14 was a small piece again cut from one of Tim's fabrics and has a small clear tag attached to give it more dimension.
Small amounts of antique lace have also been added to soften the effect.
I used a Faber-Castell artist pen for the shadow, quite like these as they come in different shades.

Just a few closeups to show you.

I have put a little bit of wadding into the globe to make it 3D but not sure how clear that is?

Altogether I am quite pleased with the finished tag and hope to join in again next month.
I have just made the deadline for joining in this month with a few hours to go. If you would like to pop over and have a look click here to see Tim's tag.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting.

WOYWW 299 # What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Back again for another Wednesday.

Angela here to show you:
"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the
Stamping Ground and our dear host Julia will explain and all will be revealed.

So here is my desk this week.

But before I show you I have to warn you that it may not be quite what you expect......

Have you guessed what is on my desk?
Well here it is a bar of chocolate.
A gift from a friend and when I opened it.... just look at the design!
Inspiration comes from everywhere Lol!
and this is proof of it.
I just had to photograph this fantastic design.

Now wonder where this will take me?

Fairly quick today, just how you like it!

Not a lot to see as I have been busy making place cards for a friend's wedding anniversary lunch and practising with the new alcohol pens of course.

Birthday cards, Mother's Day, Father's Day cards, loads more to follow and that's before I even think of swaps and DT stuff.

Hope you all have a great WOYWW,
I'm off now to check out what the rest of you have been up to.

Happy crafting,

Restauration de Notre Dame de la Vie

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Sorry no Masterboard today but hope you enjoy this instead.

Some of you who viewed my Ski pics were interested in the Churches.
This is the one closest to the resort where we stay.

I would like to thank Jackie as she asked for photographs of the inside but we only really pass it when arriving or leaving the mountain so I thought it would be nice to see if I could find some on-line.
I have uploaded some photographs and a link to the website which shows the recent renovation of the building both inside and out.

http://www.mairie-smb.com/notredamedelavie/

So first a few photographs of the inside.

 And the Renovation.

This is complete now and here are a few photographs showing a better view of the outside.

Hope you enjoyed looking, have a great week.

Ski Pics.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I have been meaning to post some of these and have just been a bit otherwise occupied and as we will be going away again soon I thought I had better get on with it.

Anyway here are a few of the pics taken while we were away skiing in The Three Valleys in January.

View from the window.

We don't always get such nice days.
It tends to snow sometimes.

Part of Le Masse.
If you have been to Les Menuire you will know there are some interesting runs on this slope.

Fireworks.

Just to prove I was there.

Good job there's lots of skiing here because I had to suffer all this too Lol!

This is actually coming down the mountain.
I just love these little churches.

And the gorgeous landscape.
Gorgeous ideas for Christmas cards.

Mmmm.... this is making me feel cold now Lol!
It's weird really because I never feel like that when I'm there but I guess we dress differently.

And that's it really for now.

Sorry there are no actual skiing pics, I don't do selfies when I am skiing Lol! Too busy!
Will try and do some next time.

Have a good weekend,

Hi Workdesk friends.
Back again for another Wednesday.

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

So here is my desk this week.

I know this will come as a surprise but I have been tidying up and now have more space on my desk though I cannot promise how long this will last Lol!

It does look a bit sad actually because there doesn't seem to be much going on.

Oh what a surprise! Slightly more messy.
This is the start of next Monday's Masterboard.

Apart from that I have some new goodies to show you, Alcohol pens (scrummy!) and a new set of dies but haven't had time to play with them yet.

Well that should be quick enough for you I hope.

Right! now I'm off to see what everyone else have been doing
Hope you will visit them too.

Thanks for visiting and have a great week.
Happy WOYWW to you all,

Masterboard Monday

I am here to show you the Masterboard that my friend Gloria has sent me for this month.

I will be back to show you how I have used it soon.

Masterboard Monday

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi to you all, thought you might like to see what I made using the Masterboard that my friend Gloria sent me.

This is the original Masterboard.

Just hoping Gloria likes this and the rest of you too.

The first stage was to trace round the MDF shape, cut out the Masterboard heart and attach it to the MDF blank.
I have spent a lot of money in the past on glue in nice bottles but still find that the PVA glue from The Works which is only £1.99p, is brilliant for sticking this.
Spread it evenly across the MDF heart first and then smooth over the paper to ensure it is well stuck down.

I love the Masterboard but decided it needed messing up a bit.
I used the Tim Holtz heart mask and added some embossing paste.

I used 3D gel on the smaller MDF heart and placed a small gem into it which can be seen above.

Next I cut out some of the spare hearts, covered them in crackle paste and put them on one side to dry.

Make sure the heart is completely dry then sand the edge.
I used a Tim Holtz sanding block for this but any sandpaper will do.
Trim off as much of the paper as necessary and then sand until the edge is smooth.

Next I painted the back to give a nice finish.

Once all this was dry, I painted the edges,
allowed this to dry and applied gilding wax.

I also used gilding wax and acrylic paint to rub over the stencilled hearts giving them a fairly grungy finish.
If you prefer a neater finish then mix the colour with the embossing paste before applying it through the stencil.

The next stage was to put the sections together to complete the heart.
And here is the finished piece ready to be posted.

I hope you enjoyed watching me create this piece.
Many thanks for stopping by
and happy crafting,

Angela x
