WOYWW 321 # What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

And this is what's on my desk today...

It's a bit tidier than last week but I am still a bit short on space because of those boxes!
They are Aqua Tints by Spectrum Noir.
It's easier to store them in the boxes but they do take up quite a bit of room!

These are the stamps I have been using with the card that is still on the desk waiting to be put away.

Been making a new Bendy card which if you're interested you can see it here.

Other than that not much to show you really, it's like desk in waiting.
Been busy visiting the family and shows.
We went to Heckington Country Show at the weekend and saw these, amongst other things....

It's not often we see tortoises these days (in the UK) and these are from a charity who have a captive breeding program, they seemed to be enjoying themselves anyway.

Hope you have a great week and
happy crafting,

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
This week I am still working on the Bendy cards with the intention of combining this with the Alice theme but not only that I am using one of the Masterboards I made using the tissue paper printing method.

If you missed any of these techniques click on the titles below to see these postings.

1. Bendy Card.
2. Alice in Wonderland.
3. Tissue Method of colouring paper.

And first the Masterboard which is one I started with the tissue colouring technique and finished by stamping over the design
with Non Secuitur stamps.

Started looking like this:
When I looked at it again I thought it reminded me of playing cards.

So I stamped it like this.

 Next onto the card.

I used this design on a Bendy card, Stamped and coloured the images and then cut them out and now it looks like this:

I'm sure most of you will know by now that the
Alice in Wonderland story is 150 years old this year.

Hope you like my celebration card and possibly leave me a comment so I know you've been and what you think about it then I can visit you back.

Take care and happy crafting,

Angela xXx

WOYWW 320 # What's On You Workdesk Wednesday.

What a mess I hear you say!
Click the photo for more details.
  • The black card is part of a workshop I am organising.
  • New stock arrived Tuesday, haven't got round to sorting it.
  • Various Alice stuff. Planning to make something to celebrate the 150th anniversary.

 I have always loved Alice.
My mother bought me this book many years ago.

This is a Starbook I made some time ago.

So excited that this die has arrived and can't wait to play with it.
You couldn't see this as it was hidden under the other new stuff.

For those of you who are still interested in the Bendy cards, here are a couple of examples:

If you would like the instructions and more views you can find them here.

Short and sweet today and I am off now to have a spy round!

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
So many people have asked about the Bendy cards I have been working on so I thought I had better show you how I make them.

I have not come up with this idea myself but not sure where it originated, there are quite a few to view on Pinterest if you need more ideas.

So lets get going.
This is the card I made and you can clearly see where it gets it's name Bendy as the front pieces bend as they fit together.

There are a number of ways to achieve this but I feel that the simplest and quickest method is to use a square card, you can do this with any size but I have used 7"x7" for this example.

  •  Open the card and cut down the centre about half way and then horizontally to remove this top section of card. This piece will be attached to the other side.

  • I have cut a curve along mine as I am using a sea theme but when you get used to making these you will see how you can alter this stage to suit what you are making.
  • Next fold one side of the piece you have cut away to create the section which will be used to attach it to the main card as shown below.

  • Both pieces will then need to have a tab made which will be inserted to create the bend as shown below. You don't need to worry too much about the size of this as long as you make sure the slits fit. The one I made is about 1" wide and 1/2" deep.

  • Now we need to make the slits - one in the main card and one in the left front piece.

  • I did mine at  1" from the fold on the inside and 2" from the fold on the outside flap as shown below.

And this is what it should look like with the tabs inserted:

The length of these front pieces and the position of the slits can be altered depending how much you want the front to stand out.

  • At this stage it is time to decorate the card and you will realise as you do this that you need to score the slits again because you will be covering them with any paper you stick on.

I have used a Masterboard sent to me by my friend Gloria which you can see here:

And this is the finished card.
As I am sure you will see, I have added more detail to the Masterboard.

Inside Views.

I hope the instructions and photographs make this clear but if there is any thing you are not sure about just leave me a comment and I will get back to you.

In fact I would love you to leave a comment so I know what you think.

For now:

Ali-Craft Workshop with Hels Sheridan.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

We had a brilliant day with Hels Sheridan at the Ali-Craft Workshop on Saturday and I have a few photos to show you.

Hels is here waiting to get started.

And of course we all gathered round the Teacher Lol! for the first set of instructions.

Sorry I can't give you full instructions for the making but that wouldn't be fair on Hels but I have included a good selection of photographs.

I decided to use a pink, purple and blue for my project.

Once this was complete we went on to the tag.

Hels offered us lots of gorgeous techniques to use and explained everything fully.

Next we worked on the rose.

Cutting and gluing the pieces in order to build up a 3D flower.

I must say Hels is very good at giving clear and concise instructions.

Butterflies were next which you can see below.

And these are the colours I used to decorate my butterfly.

Finally a few examples of what we made though some of them are not quite finished at this stage.

Hels example.

These are my efforts.
Not quite sure what else I want to add to it yet.

I think it's great how so many people can work from the same starting point and the finished pieces look so different.

Well that's it for now.

Back soon and happy crafting,

Angela xXx

Addendum!

All finished so here it is:

Hope you liked it.

Happy crafting,
Angela x
