Lincolnshire Agricultural Show

Hi Blogging friends, as promised I have some photos here of our day out at the Lincolnshire Show but I have so many that I am going to show a few at a time.
Today I am going to show what 'Him In Doors' likes.
We always have to go and watch these young ladies, though to be honest they are good, very clever and brave too.

Later I also have something for all my Steampunk friends but you will have to wait for that.
Hope you enjoy this,
Angela x

Just so you know this is Lincoln here is a knitted cathedral.
Very clever.

You cannot come to Lincoln without seeing something from the RAF and today it was
the RAF Falcons freefall team.

And here they are, Jass Pony.
It's always difficult to fully appreciate how good they are unless you see them live but you should get an idea why Him Indoors likes them Lol!

They make their entrance appropriately dressed for a country show....

And then remove the heavy stuff ready to perform.

I don't know why but Him Indoors likes this one!

And this one!

A bit of fun for the kids too.

Back soon with more pics.

Have a great weekend,
Angela x

Now back to the crafting stuff.....

This is how it all started this week, though actually I had almost finished the samples.
I have been making quick cards using a Masterboard I posted on Monday.

And here are more card ideas using Monday's Masterboard with the butterflies.

Just a reminder of the Masterboards.

And the cards.

For this card I used the stamps below.

The final sample is
an easel card.

Happy WOYWW day to you all.

Hoping Julia is much better,
Angela x

Masterboard Monday

A big welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Bloggerists,  I have had a busy few weeks as there seems to be lots of birthdays this month.
So I decided we needed some "Quick Cards" but they still have to look as though you have spent time making them or friends and family will be disappointed.

So I started with a simple Masterboard for this week on A4 card.
I saw Jo Rice using some of these masks at the Doncaster Dome and really liked the effect.
You can find some of her samples here
Jo Rice.

I used Big and Juicy inks and ink dusters to add the colour to the card.

This is an example of one of the Masterboards.
I made several of these in different colour schemes.

This is one of the cards I have made.
The butterfly is from a set I have had for some time and is one of the things that I am trying to use up.
The colours do work really well with the blended colours I have used on the Masterboards.
Some of the butterflies are quite big too, the card below is 6"X6" so they make quite an impressive topper.

These are some more of the butterflies I will be using.

For the sentiments on this card, I used the stamps on the right which worked really well as they are curved so I used them round the edge of the wings.

This close-up shows the detail of how I used the stamps.

I added the mask detail directly to the card on the inside slightly more faded than the Masterboard and leaving the centre section almost blank then added the sentiment.
The stamps used on the inside of the card are the ones on the left,
(see below).

I have more of these cards to show you later in the week.

Happy crafting.
See you soon,
Angela x

Stamping Board 2

A big welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Blogging Friends  as promised I am back again with more ideas for using the Stampbords.
These are some of the other ways that you can embellish them.

On this sample, I coloured the board, dried it then stamped with a pigment ink and applied embossing powder so that only the stamped area was embossed.
This makes the stamped image shine and stand out but the background remains dull.

On the next piece, the colour was applied, allowed to dry and then the embossing powder with a layer of UTEE added to make it thicker.

Stamp into this while it is still soft with a deeply etched stamp.

You should always put embossing ink or stamping ink onto the stamp to protect it and ensure it will release easily.

You can see that there is depth to the stamping.
When using stamps I prefer wood mounted red rubber stamps as they tend to be deeply etched and can withstand heat though Clarity clear stamps would work too.
There is no need to put a lot of pressure into the stamping as the weight of the stamp will usually be enough to sink into the melted embossing powder.
Leave the stamp until the embossing is cool and the stamp should lift away easily, if it does not come away easily just wait a little longer and it will.

On this design I added crackle glaze over the top of the stamped image.
You may be able to see that I edge the finished designs with a gilding pen or something similar.

If you look below you may notice that the stamping on the flower seems sharper, this is because the stamping was done over the top of the embossing powder (when cool), using Stazon ink and then a little glitter added.
The dragonflies were stamped and then the embossing powder added.

These boards have been coloured and embossing powder added. I will be back later to show you what I have done with them.

Back soon and happy crafting,

Angela x

WOYWW 262 What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday

Hi Blogging friends Angela here to show you what I've been up to this week on my work desk and if you visit Julia you will have access to desks throughout the world, so hope you will hop over to the Stamping Ground and all will become obvious.

I had a great day at the weekend, went to the Patchings Art festival on Saturday and Doncaster Stamp Magic show on Sunday.
You can see on my desk some of the lovely things I bought while I was there.

I am just showing you a close-up of of some new Steampunk stamps, really like these.

Inky Doodles.

This one is from Paper Artsy.

I had a nice chat with a lovely lady at the Clarity Stamp stall, very much liked the way she used the masks.

Jo Rice of jrcrafts

Doncaster is not a big show but it's good because the companies are chosen because they all stock different things.

The Patchings Art Festival is held once a year at Calverton, Nottinghamshire, for four days and is absolutely full of people every day, it is quite amazing to see so many people loving their art.

Happy woyww day to you all,
Back soon,

Angela x

Masterboard Monday

Hi Bloggers I'm back to show you yet another Masterboard.
This is one I made for a friend as a swap and this is the result of what she made with it.

Some of you may recognise this Masterboard as I used a copy of it to make ATCs.

The tag book she made is just stunning.
You can imagine my delight when I opened the parcel.

So much gorgeous detail.

Hope you enjoyed looking.
Happy crafting,
Angela x
