WOYWW 318 # What's On your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

And this is what's on my desk today...
I have labelled it so if you click on the photo you will be able to see what I have been using this week.
Can't tell too much about the canvas at this stage.

Several of you were asking to see my five sewing machines, sorry but I can only show you four today as one is in the shed outside and I am unable to get to it at the moment.

Anyway here they are:

My most recent machine:

Bought this about three years ago to replace my Singer which gave up the ghost after about 45 years of use.

One of my older machine:

A very simple Bernina and quite an old one probably from the 1960's
but still one of the most reliable.

 My smallest machine:

Which you have already seen and is only used for sewing paper.

My embroidery machine:

Computerised and dedicated embroidery machine.
I have to say I don't use this very often now but who knows!.

My Granny of Machines:

I have one other machine which I am unable to show you at the moment.
I believe it was bought sometime about 1930- 1940ish and was the machine I first used and belonged to my Grandmother.
It is a  Jones hand machine and looks like this:

So that's it, hope you enjoyed looking.

Finally so as not to disappoint anyone.
This is the finished journal cover from last week.

One of the sewn strips edging the pages.

I must not keep you any longer or I may get into trouble with the boss!

Have a great WOYWW
and
Happy crafting,

Angela x

Hi Angela, am early for WOYWW but may not get time later and you came up on my dashboard :D
Five machines.. wow! I have basic but much loved Bernette sewing machine and a Brother overlocker .. and that is bad enough to keep running and serviced. :D
Love your grans, my first machine used was a Singer treadle machine and found the movement very therapeutic.
Happy WOYWW Shaz in Oz.x No number yet.

Thank you for introducing us to your sewing machine regiment, Angela! Very impressive. Your post reminds me it's Wednesday and I've done nothing about WOYWW... Maybe I'll post later - not doing well with my chemo atm.

Happy WOYWW,

What a great collection of sewing machines, especially that last one. They don't build them like that anymore and I'm talking the quality and durability. Love the journal cover! Judy #47

What a fab assortment of machines! I'm still using my 1983 Kenmore but do have my mom's 10 year Pfaff but it's still in the case. One question... what is Bone Juice? I seen that at the top right of your photo. Sounds interesting. Happy WOYWW and thanks for stopping by!

Hi there and thanks for visiting me. Wow what a lot of machines! Fabulous! I have just the one. It's an Elna - had for years from new and has been brilliant. Had one other before it plus a child's which I still have :-) I learned to sew on my grandma's Singer treadle - which my sister has. Love the journal cover. Anne #28

Hi Angela...seems like I'm looking at some of my machines...I only have one that I work with at the moment..a Brother, but my old Bernina is in the shed at home, and I'm sad to say I gave my very old hand operated Singer to a collector as it was only being ruined in my storage shed. When I'm settled at home I'll be getting out the Bernina - dedicated to paper. Thanks for visiting, enjoy your week, love your journal cover Cheers RobynO#11

As Jan said earlier I do have rather a lot of machines too....I have 6 :-) and when I get my new sewing room I plan to have work stations for them all as I use most of mine on a daily basis :-) I've really enjoyed seeing your machines today so thank you for sharing them with us.
Hugs,

That last sewing machine reminds me of my mums Singer Treadle.

I inherited my sewing machine from my mom, an old pfaff that we'd had as long as I remember. Luckily my daughter likes to sew fabrics, otherwise it would only see paper as far as I'm concerned :) happy woyww!
