Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.
Though actually not much as I am still full of cold but have been for a walk in the park.
They've moved all the fencing from round the new Weir structure and are trying to sort out the flow of water going through it.
We met two guys the other day who were putting a dye into the water to work out which way the water flows down to the weir.
To many people this may just look like a pretty park lake but it's actually an important part of the water control which flows in here from miles away and then into the river Witham.
Because Lincoln is quite low in parts (approx. 20 metres above sea level) it has many flood planes and lakes like this are an important part of preventing flooding.
The safety grids have been added so we can see now the water flowing through.
The work is getting along too with the building of the new visitors centre.
These are the gates to the original entrance.
So that's it really, hopefully I will have more to show you next week when this stinker cold goes.
Have a great weekend everyone and
thanks for stopping by.
And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your smiles too.

I am really enjoying the progress you share from this site! they are working hard. I love the brickwork round the weir structure - it's like a mini castle turret! Have a great weekend, hope you feel better soon.
I hope you manage to shake off your cold very soon. Pleased to see you've managed a walk in the park....it's all coming along nicely. I'm enjoying watching the progress.
Hugs,

Thanks for the update, I have been wondering how they were getting on - those tall gates are beautiful! Sorry you have a cold, hope it goes soon! Hugs, Anne xx
Hi Angela, hope your cold goes very soon. It's interesting to see how this project has progressed - it's looking much better without the fencing. I have a lottery funded project to share this week too. Take care, Elizabeth xx
