WOYWW 430 # What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!

It's not really very exciting, though there is a box on the right waiting to be altered. Crackle glazes to the right near the box.
Some Seth Apter stamps tucked towards the back and some of his paints from Paper Artsy.

The exploding box really can't take much more and needs sorting.

These are nice though.

I got these when I went to the Steampunk Festival at the weekend.
I have put some photographs on my facebook page which can be accessed here. and a few more on my blog here.

I so love this little diving helmet key ring.

Going to enjoy adding these to my art work.

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Steampunk Festival Lincoln.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I know I don't normally post on a Tuesday but this is just a heads up that I am going to have lots of photographs from the Steampunk festival which took place here in Lincoln over the Bank Holiday.

Just a few pics. to get you started.

It always amazes me at the variety of age groups that attend.

Of course you cannot have a Steampunk Festival without a Gin Bar!

I have already put more on my facebook page which you can find here.

Back soon with more photographs.
Have a great week.

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with this Masterboard which I showed you a couple of weeks ago:

The clock and number stamps are by Indigo Blu.
The dies are by Tim Holtz and the sentiment stamp is by Hobby Craft.

I stamped another clock on the Masterboard then embossed this before adding Crackle Paste to the face.
The clock was attached with a split pin to allow it to swivel showing the numbers below.

The metal cogs were attached with a hot glue gun and I added split pins on the corners.

I would love to hear your comments and thanks for stopping by.

Happy crafting,

Friday Fun Day.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

Apart from the Gym and crafty stuff my time has been taken up by fish!
A gift from my husband for our wedding anniversary but which one to have!

These were the fish at Absolute Koi and are all Japanese hand picked by the owners.
They were very greedy and in fact I thought one of the big ones would eat me if it had a chance. They were gorgeous and very tame. You can just see my hand to the left of this photograph which is why they all gathered together hoping that this hand held some juicy morsel.

Just gorgeous but not what I was looking for.

This was the one I saw last week at Wayside Water Gardens and we went back there this week.

Now what do you think might be in here!

Yes I found what I was looking for.
A Hi Utsuri.

Don't ask me why but in the excitement I forgot to photograph her until she was in the bag.

These are not brilliant photographs but there she is.

In case you are wondering why I say she it's because of the body shape which in females is generally a little more rounded than long as in the males but I could be completely wrong.

Sorry about the net but we have herons round here too.

As these are not brilliant photographs here is an example of a Hi Utsuri to give you a better idea of what she looks like.

Basically the Hi Utsuri is a black fish with orange or red patterns. They are often lighter when young but can go red as they mature so we'll have to wait and see!

Better go before you get fed-up of the sight of fish Lol!

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

By the way I should have some interesting pics next Friday as it is the Steampunk festival here in Lincoln this weekend.

If you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

WOYWW 429 # What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

  • On the centre there is a Black card blank I've just started working on.
  • The sheet of pink paper on the left, some new background papers and the pink fabric hanging on the drawers is the cloth I used to clean the brush, can't throw that away.
  • Just to the right are a couple of cards I posted recently, if you would like a better look at them you can find them Here and Here.
  • The exploding box is not looking much different but more or less everything else is and I need to tidy up a bit again soon!
  • The little tub at the back towards the left is not what it says on the jar, it is actually something I've used to mix some Pixie Powders in.

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge - Under the Sea or at the Beach.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi! back again to tell you that it's time for another challenge over
at Crafty Cardmakers.

Judy is hosting today and our challenge is Under the Sea or at the Beach.

As usual you can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to just be cards, as long as it meets the challenge, and doesn't exceed the 15 total challenges entered rule!

Hope you will join in.
And here is my project for the challenge:

The background was done with Distress Oxide inks.
I love the way you are able to get both muted and vibrant colour with just one ink pad depending on the amount of water added before pulling the colour from the craft mat. When water is added direct to the coloured paper the ink reacts again giving lovely watermark effects which all work so well with this type of project.
If it's still too bright I like to apply a thin coat of Gesso, something I picked up from the lovely Brenda Brown which will tone the colour down.
The dies were Memory Box and Tim Holtz.
I finished it with clear gems to represent the bubbles.

I hope you will pop over to see what the rest of the DT have been up to and maybe join in the challenge.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with too.
 Happy crafty card making.

The Tim Holtz stencil worked perfectly with this.

Just need to find someone now to send it too.

I would love to hear what you think about my project and any comments will be gratefully received.

Look forward to seeing you at The Craft Barn.

Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

Apart from the usual crafting I did go to a great Fish farm and thought you might like to see these beauties.

This fish farm has some of the best Koi around.

Sadly we lost one of our oldest fish this week but she was about 27 years old which is very good for a Golden Orf.
As much as it may not seem quite the same as the loss of some other pets it is still quite sad when you have had them from something not as big as your little finger.
Anyway less of that and back to the farm.
These are photographs of the ponds there.

They are gorgeous I'm sure you will agree.

Lots of nice plants and ornaments too.

I've been picking damsons too and made them into a plum crumble.
However, someone took a big piece before I had chance to photograph it. It was scrummy and very fruity too.

We may well be having some more of this as we seem to have had so many plums and damsons this year.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for

WOYWW 428 # What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

I cannot tell a lie! it's a bit messy today as I'm in between projects again.

Rose asked last week about the tags that I have hanging around which are here. They are just sample pieces.
When I remember to do it, if I use a new technique I make a sample on one of the tags just as a reminder.
I've had them out today as I've been trying something out with the Oxides can't tell you yet but it is different, however if you have a look around the desk you might get a clue.

Just a few new arrivals this week.

Set 2. of the Distress Oxide refills and some new Jane Davenport Washi tapes.

So that's me done for today.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww

happy crafting,

Masterboard Monday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I am here today to show you a card made with this Masterboard which I showed you last week:

The lovely pen stamp was an old one by Inkadinkado.

Spellbinders mat and Tim Holtz text, ink blot and numbers.

I stamped the blots (Prima stamps) onto the black card blank before mounting the layers and used black split pins in the corners.

Quite pleased with the way this looks.

I would love to hear your comments.

Many thanks for stopping by and happy crafting,

Back to the Craft Barn getting 'Better and Better'.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi everyone just here to let you know this is another project for the Craft Barn and it's now live.

Been working with  Carabelle and Kaisercraft Stamps and stencils and here is a peek of how I used it. If you would like to see how I made this then pop over to The Craft Barn for full details.

I had so much fun making this card with water colouring techniques using the Oxide inks for both the backgrounds and the ribbon.

Tutorial for making this project is available now at The Craft Barn.

I would love to hear what you think about my project and any comments will be gratefully received.

Look forward to seeing you at The Craft Barn.

Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

We went to Bakewell Show last week and I promised to show you photos however it had rained the day before which left the showground very wet!

Luckily I had taken my wellies but you would be surprised how many people arrived with just ordinary shoes....crazy people!

Stan is examining the ground!
Yes Stan it is wet!

Not sure you can actually see the water but there was plenty of it.

Unfortunately it meant that some of the trades people were unable to get onto the show ground and they were actually towing horse boxes onto the showground so I bet they had fun trying to get off again.
They have no solid ground at the entrances so when just a few lorries go over it you can guess it just becomes sludge causing them to get stuck.

Somebody wanted to show you these lovely paw marks, can't imagine who made those Lol!

It did not stop us from having a nice day as it didn't rain so much while we were there but lets hope for better weather next year.
We did bring home a traditional Bakewell tart but forgot to photograph it before we devoured it!

We have however had some nice days since.
A walk in the park.

My grapes are getting bigger.

And my apples and plums too.

Him-In-Doors went out and did some weeding and found these in the garden. I had to photograph them but didn't find any fairies Lol!

 So that's it for today.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
