Hi Blogging friends, Angela back again with more photographs of the Steampunk festival as promised. 

They may look a bit crazy but they certainly have a great time.

I met some lovely people and here are just a few of them.

Steampunk Festival Lincoln 2014

Hi Blogging friends, Angela here with something special.

Just got back from the Steampunk Festival. As usual I met some lovely people only too willing to let me photograph their lovely costumes.
I have so many photographs to show you that I am going to spread them out a little so just a few today and more on offer tomorrow and next week so without further ado here is the first offering.

Just to set the scene.

And of course we have to have a little brass and copper.

It's the Law Lol!

Tim's Tag for September.

A big welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I have been making Tim's tags but not getting many posted so I thought this would be one month when I would get on with it early.

The techniques that Tim used in this tag really inspired me.
Although I had most of the materials and stamps he used, I really wanted to make it my own so decided to adapt it a little.

It was definitely the Birds in Flight Sizzlits die that inspired me to complete the tag in the way that I have.
Hope you like it.

I started off by using the Rays Stencil with the alcohol blending solution and then coloured the card with alcohol ink as Tim suggested dragging the card through it.
This is basically the materials I used.

 You can see  the birds have been cut out. To do this stage, use glossy card, apply several colours of alcohol ink and stamp onto it with the Embarkation Stamp from the Artful Voyage set then cut out using the Sizzlits die.

I stamped onto the coloured card using the ship stamp from the Artful Voyage set.

I used the Numbers Rub-On set which seemed appropriate as it has a passenger's coupon which I quite liked.

All that was left to do was to put the whole thing together and
here is the finished tag.

Left of Centre Guest Designer Spot.

A big welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

If you have come over from LOC and anyone who has just popped along today then welcome blogging friends, pleased to see you.

Here are a few more pics of the art journal page that I shared with everyone at the Left of Centre challenge this week 'No Designer Paper'.



I had started this some time ago but only finished it when Mo invited me to be a guest designer for Left of Centre.
I often start pages in my journal and they can sit there unfinished for ages until I decide how to complete them.

To create this journal page I used:
Various stamps
Stampotique - Heads, Miss Snottie, Jill and Muffin, bla,bla,bla.
Dylusions - Word love.
Kaisercraft - Bubble Wrap.
Dies
Tim Holtz - On the Edge - Pennants,
            Sizzlits - Cobwebs.
Cosmic shimmer sprays.
3D Glaze.
White gel pen.
Black and white watercolour pencils. 
Stickles Glue.
Stazon and Archival Inks.

 

I coloured the page using cosmic shimmer sprays and allowed this to dry and then used the Heads stamp randomly on parts of the page using Stazon.

Next I applied water to some of the small faces and blotted away some of the colour.

I continued doing this with the face stamps and then added the background spots, the bla bla bla and word love stamps.

I wanted some larger text for the bla bla bla text and applied this by hand with a waterproof pen.

I then die cut the card to make the cobwebs and the borders, attaching these as required.

I completed the page by adding shadows with watercolour pencils and stickles glue on the eyes of the girls, then used 3D glaze on the faces.

Now what's going on here?

 

Well I have started using one of my Masterboards with a sizzix box die.

I am showing you what I have done so far but you will have to wait to see how it turns out.

 

 

You may also have noticed, if you have visited before, that I have finished adding the rest of the little drawers on the shelf.

I like them but may need to stick some labels on. I can't see into them very well and because there are now so many it takes a while sometimes to find what I am looking for. This defeats the object as they were meant to make it quicker to find things lol!

More tidying up may be needed soon.

Guest Designer at Left of Centre Challenge Blog.

Hi Blog Buddies I am so pleased to announce that I have been asked to be a Guest designer at Left of Centre Challenge Blog 
which I was more than pleased to accept.
My project will appear on the 12th of September.

This has always been one of my favourite Challenge blogs since I started blogging as they love anything Steampunk, Gothic and Quirky.
