Garden Makeover.

Hi Bloggers I wonder if you remember this:

I was sorry to see it go.

But now it looks like this.
Just waiting for the grass to grow back and a few plants to add.

And this is new.

Hope you like the changes.

Happy gardening,

WOYWW 273 # What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

A big welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Angela here to show you "What's on my work desk this Wednesday"(WOYWW).
How quickly it comes round again, Wednesday I mean. If you are not sure what this is about? visit our host Julia and you will have access to desks throughout the world, so hope you will hop over to the
Stamping Ground and all will be revealed.

This will be a quick post today but I hope a useful one.
I have been having problems using my eBosser, just space really, well lack of it. They do need quite a large space so that the paper/card and plates can go in and then come out at the back,
for this reason I have not used it as much as I would like to, so what to do!!!
Then Mr Mojo had an absolute brain wave, when helping me to clear the outbuilding he spied an old Lazy Susan, you know they are a round turntable and I realised it was just the thing I needed (so glad I didn't send it to the charity shop Lol!).

I am sure you will see from the photographs how this will work.

So there you have it!

Now I'm off to visit my friends and hope you will join me and pop over to see what everyone else has been up to, on their desks this week.

Have a great week and happy crafting,
Angela x

Creative Blog Tour.

Hi Blog Buddies, I have something a little different for you today, which arrived in my mailbox as quite a surprise that someone actually thought I was talented enough to be included in a Blog Tour Lol! But don't worry, I know it is Monday so there will be a Masterboard too.

There are many talented people in Blogland and what better way to meet them than with an introduction from a bloggy friend?

Well that's where a Creative Blog Tour comes in....

Ruth was kind enough to tag me in this on going, Creative Tour Blog Hop and I was delighted to be asked to be part of it.
Ruth is such a creative lady and it would be great if you would go over and check out her blog.

For this Blog Tour we have been asked to answer a few questions about ourselves to help you to get to know us a little better and here they are:

What Am I Working On?
This is difficult as I am rarely working on just one thing. I often find that when I start a project it fires up another idea and I have to stop and start it while the idea is fresh so I often have several things going at the same time.
However I always have a Masterboard on the go, greeting cards, tags and half made journal pages.

As it is Monday I am working with this Masterboard to create a mini journal.

This is were I am up to at the moment.

And a half made journal page that I hope to complete soon, there are always several of these, half made and waiting for completion.

How does my work differ from others of it's genre?
This is an interesting question, I hope that when someone looks at my work that they are able to see I have made it, in other words that the style is my own even though I may be inspired by others I hope my projects are different.

Why do I write/create what I do?
I have created all my life and feel very lucky to have been able to teach Textiles and Art for 33 years before retiring. So why do I create? because I cannot stop Lol! it's part of my life.

How does your writing/creative process work?
Mmmm..... interesting... I get inspiration from all over the place,  from other crafters; magazines; artists; favourite colours; family photos, poems; old artifacts I find; interesting objects; all kinds of things.
At this stage I usually rummage through my crafty stash to find paper, card, ribbons, embellishments, inks paint and generally anything to get my mind working in the right direction.
I usually lay these out and after some thought try to reduce the massive pile of stuff which has inevitably ended up on the table or possibly the floor depending on the size of the pile LOL!
Depending on what I plan to make, I tend to start by preparing the materials whilst still going through in my head where the project might take me and it's usually at this stage that I think of other things and have to stop and start something else! before coming back to the original thing and then hopefully work towards completion.

During the short time that I have been blogging I have got to know many talented people with the most inspiring blogs. Though it is difficult to pick out my favourites there are some who I go back to again and again, one in particular is Redanne not only a very talented lady but a very kind one too. I have included a link to her blog should you wish to pop over and say hello.

I hope you have enjoyed my part in this Creative Blog Tour and maybe you will call again some time.

Have a good week and happy crafting,
Angela x

The Adventures of BP Mini Me.

Hi to you all, BP here.
I was going to have a walkabout but she has been up to things again, not sure if you have noticed but I am much higher up than before. She has been adding some extra drawers as if there isn't enough stuff in here already LOL!

She says it will help to tidy things up a bit but him indoors is not convinced and neither are we.
Anyway because she has been messing around in here I have been unable to go walkabout as planned but I know she has lots of gardening to do so maybe I will get a chance soon.

I may need wings soon if she puts us any higher, the hand says he will help me get down. He says he's seen some string to lower me down with and the monkeys say they will help too.
I think I should take out an insurance against accidents or just make sure there are plenty of spare plastic bottles in case I need a repair LOl!

Hope to see you again soon with more news.
Bye for now,

BP Mini Me xxx

WOYWW 272 # What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

At last it's finished!
Put the flag up! Higher, Higher!

Anyway here is the finished Alice journal page, hope you like it my friends.
This was my desk on Monday morning.
No change there I hear you say Lol!

But if you look today this is what you would see.
So many of you asked to see this so it seemed only fair to post it on a Wednesday and here it is.
I started by colouring in the stamped images and attaching them to the page and added shadow for depth.

I finished the glue lines with a little gilding wax, crackle glaze on the flowers and stickles glue on the toadstools.

Just so the Hatter and Alice know when it's time for tea, I added the clock.
The sentiment on this page is a 'Deep Red' rubber stamp and the one above which is not so clear here is Stampotique.

Hope you have enjoyed looking.

Nice and quick today, off to visit my desk friends.
Happy Crafting and desk visiting,
Angela x

Masterboard Monday.

A big welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Blogging Buddies  hope you have had a nice weekend.
This week's Masterboard is technique based.
I happened to be looking through some of my stash and found some dies by Paper Artsy that I haven't used for a while so thought I would have a play.
Not knowing quite where this would take me, I started by die-cutting some of the shapes.
Which I attached to a piece of card. See below.

I ended up with a piece of A4 card with lots of holes.
Now that has got to be useful LOL!

I wanted to experiment so also cut some slightly thicker pieces with corrugated card. As you can see anything can be used, this is old packaging.

I tried these out for embossing but it might be easier to see if I colour them.

Embossed side.

Debossed side.

Also had a go at using the negative sheet as a stencil with ink sprays.

And finally, I applied embossing paste through the negative sheet and allowed it to dry, then sprayed it with mica sprays.

Cleaned up the ink with card and liked it so much that I added a little more.

So it took me quite a way, ending not only with a Masterboard but a stencil, some nice coloured card and an embossing folder.
Good Ha!

All I have to do now is decide what to make with the Masterboard.
I love it and I hope you will do too.

Happy crafting,
Angela x

WOYWW 271 # What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

A big welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Angela here to show you "What's on my work desk this Wednesday"(WOYWW) and if you visit Julia you will have access to desks throughout the world, so hope you will hop over to the Stamping Ground and all will be revealed.

Here is my desk for this week and I'm afraid I haven't got as far with the Alice journal page as I would have liked but this is where I am at the moment.

First I used a Dylusion stamp and outlined the edge of the page using the leaves stamp bottom right.

I have added the Cheshire cat randomly on the page as though he is hiding in the trees and some symbols from the playing cards using non secuitur Ask Alice stamps.
The sprays have coloured the lines made by the glue gun but to protect them fully, it is necessary to spray them with a fixative.

Not sure how well you can see the Cheshire Cat hiding in the trees and it's raining playing card symbols.

I am using some Alice stamps from The Octopode Factory.
And the images are waiting to be painted.

There's one thing this will definitely be a quick post today so everyone should be happy Lol!

I have to go out but will be visiting you later today.
Have a great week and happy crafting,
Angela x

Masterboard Monday and Time for a Birthday Card.

A big welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Blogging friends, we have a male birthday coming up, always a bit of a brain stretcher or it is for me LOL! but I have come up with a Masterboard and a card today.

So here goes and hope you like it.

First coloured the paper with distress inks and then stamped on with a text stamp.

Then layered up the colour and pattern using a clock stencil.

And this is what it looked like.

These are the inks I used to create this effect.

I decided I might need an area on the card with  a little more detail to add interest so I went over part of the stencil with Tim Holtz Crackle Paint.

And then gently removed the stencil, leaving the crackle paint to dry.

You can see the detail of the crackle below.

And here is the card I have made using the Masterboard.
The clock stamp is by Heartfelt Creations and is called:
HCPC3591 - Alarm and Watch PreCut Set and there are two clocks in this set, an alarm clock which I used and a pocket watch.

The sentiment stamp is by 'invoke' and is called The Time is Now.
I ripped the edge of the crackled section and edged it with blue distressing ink before layering it on top of the background.

I hope you like it. I do have more of the paper left and will probably make another card later.

Happy crafting and thanks for stopping by,
Angela x

More favourite Posts.

A big welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

As you seemed to like looking at the things I have made in my first year of Blogging, here are a few more of my efforts.
Hope you like them.

            Altered stuff.

And anything that pops up or moves LOL!

And I still love making tags.

And you have to make greeting cards, it's the law Lol!

Pop-up cards, Love them!

Techniques are fun and this is done using UTEE with stamping.

Still like to do a bit of sewing when I get the chance and this piece combines stamping with stitching.

My forever favourite thing, Masterboards.

I don't often open my journal pages for strangers but these are a couple I have had on the blog.

Well that's about it for this year's review so I had better get on with making something new Lol!.

Back soon and happy crafting,

Angela x
