That Craft Place Challenge.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

And here is my first design for:
That Craft Place Challenge Blog.
Hope you will pop over and join in the challenge and have a look at what my team members have made to inspire you.

For this project we have been asked to make something Shabby Chic, just up my street!

But what to make?
At this stage the brain usually goes into sleep mode Lol!
However, after searching through the stash I found a little box just waiting to be altered and some gorgeous Prima Papers.
That Craft Place shop can supply these lovely items just pop over.
If you have chance to go over there click on the Facebook button to see even more lovely things and That Craft Place Etsy shop.

So here we go.....
Started by collecting a few goodies together.

First cut a piece of your chosen Prima paper to fit around the box allowing enough to turn inside and then score it twice before creasing.
Scoring it and leaving a small space between the lines allows for the ridge on the top of the box.

To ensure it fits easily I cut out little notches along the edge.

Here you can see how it looks attached.

On the outside.

And on the Inside.

Next I inserted the lining after distressing the edges.

The next step was to make the flowers which would decorate the top and to add some textured text to the top and sides using Cosmic Shimmer texture paste which I already had in my stash but is also available from That Craft Place.

The little dragonfly came from the Prima embellishment pack and was coloured with Stickles glue.
Prima embellishments are also available from That Craft Place.

I rubbed over the text using Treasure Gold gilding wax and also attached a couple of sentiment stickers which also come with the 12x12 Prima papers.

And here is the finished box.
I thought it would look really nice on show and decided to fill it with Potpourri.
Hope you approve.

More views.

Hope you enjoyed looking at my little box.
I look forward to seeing your entries for the challenge.

I do hope you like it and leave me a little comment.

Back soon and happy crafting,

Hello Angela,
Goodness, I am loving this box and the Prima paper sets the tone beautifully for the Shabby Chic effect.
You have changed up this little box beautifully, you have all the elements required to for this genre and so it is a wonderful example for anyone wanting to enter the Challenge. I have a penchant for Shabby Chic, so I will be entering again this month. Thank you for the wonderful inspiration.
Smiles:)

Thank you for your lovely comment, Angela - unfortunately after starting to feel a lot better and start creating again, I am now suffering the after effects of my first chemo treatment and I have not had a good day feeling quite poorly, and not how I wanted to enjoy our 29th wedding anniversary! To cap it all, my stair lift has broken down and it's the bank holiday weekend. You get the picture! Grrrr.
