Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi, Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.
And I have been very busy with Country fairs, one on Sunday and another one on Thursday and here are a few pics. to show you how much fun we had.

Heckington Village Show on Sunday (Lincolnshire).

This show is the largest village show in the Country.
It's quite different from the usual County Shows and the displays tend to demonstrate this. There tends to be more showing the history of village life whereas the big County shows seem more interested in sales of new machinery.

This was actually in the photograph competition but I thought it was so lovely that you might like to see it.

Tug of war.

Re-enactments.

Oh! and we have Indians too!

And of course sheep.

Bulls.
I believe this may be a Lincolnshire Red.

Birds.

This is a baby Barn Owl.

And of course All The Fun of The Fair.

Bakewell Agricultural Show (Derbyshire) was our Thursday Visit.

Sheep...again! Quite liked these they are lovely and woolly!

Had to spend a little time round the cars particularly the MGs as I have an old MGB GT 72 so we like to have a look at those.... well he does anyway! I just like driving it!

This is a bit more like the one I have but mine is British Racing Green, naturally! and one year older.

This little number is a Frog Eyed Sprite and a real sweetie of a car.

Slightly older MG.

Then I went into the Flower tent.
Beautiful!

For all my foreign visitors, these are traditional Horse Drawn Brewery Wagons. Some have survived and are often seen at shows like this.

So that's my fun day or days actually.

 Thanks for stopping by.
Let me know if they make you smile.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too if you like.

Thanks for stopping by,

Angela x

Wow! You have had some fun. I love country shows. (although I am a city girl. Or perhaps because I am a city girl)
Like you I love vintage cars. I'd never seen a frog eyed Sprite. Cute.
The bull is impressive and the baby owl is gorgeous. I'm not too impressed with sheep as I see those every day. I must admit the second one was beautiful.
It's lovely to see the brewery carts too.
Thank you for taking me to the country fair. I enjoyed it.
Have a good week,
LIsca

A great post Angela, that was a pretty impressive county show! I would have spent a lot of time in the sheep area, they are so beautiful - especially the really woolly ones. The flowers are pretty impressive too. Thank you for a Friday Smile! Anne xx

They are fantastic events Angela. We love them. We have just found out that Holker Hall GArden Festival has held its last one this year. So sad as I've been going for 20+ years.
Your photo's are brilliant. Took me back to the steam fair we went to last week with all the classic cars

Love your post. So much to see and smile about. My friends in Kent have a super vintage MG and they go to lots of shows and rallys with the MG club they belong to.
I adore owls and those flowers are sensational. All round a treat to browse.
Thanks for sharing and hope you have a great weekend.
Jo x Up to my eyes in decorating this week so no smiles from me, I'm afraid.

Thanks for your return visit, Angela, and well done, going to the gym! I am suffering with both shoulders and my neck after my physio last week and struggling to maintain the joints in the right position to prevent further damage and I'm in quite a bit of discomfort at the moment and the heat is NOT helping with my general fatigue. Hopefully things will improve over the next few days and I'll be able to get back in the studio again.

Have a great week.

Fabulous photos Angela. Love a good old fashioned country show. We lost our local one which was one of the biggest in Wales a few years ago. Love those horses with their wagons!
