Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

And it's Show Time!
That is if you like County shows, country fairs and agricultural stuff.
We kind of got into this years ago with the dogs we used to have and have continued to attend a few of our favourites.

Last Saturday we went to a village show at a place called Heckington which is North Lincolnshire.
When we first went there round about 1988 it was a small village show which took place in the recreation ground and now it's become the largest village show in England and remains well supported.

It is very typically a village show but what makes it different is that on Sunday they have qualifying rounds for The Horse of the Year Show.

Of all the shows we go to I actually think it's one of the best.

So here we go, I warn you there are lots of pics but I promise not to say too much.

Skydivers.

Gorgeous flowers.

I know someone who will love this.

Fabulous vegetables.

And scrummy homemade goodies.

Nice things to buy too.

Cycle racing in the main ring.

The ladies keeping up their traditions.

We seem to have been taken over by the military this year.

Even the Americans have arrived.

I hope they get on okay with the Indians who were just next door.

Back to the farm stuff.
You wont find any of the big new stuff here!

Animals, naturally.

Not often you see a sheep on a lead and he was so friendly, even liked dogs.

Think this guy was tired!

Just had to show you this chap he was so gorgeous, certainly made me smile.

Really I could go on there was just so much but don't want to tire you out so I will finish here.

Bakewell Show is next which is in the Peak district of Derbyshire and is best known for it's puddings and tarts.
It is actually this week but will post some photos next time.

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

What fab photos. How lucky are you to have such a wonderful country show close by. I really love the old costumes acting out life as it was.
Hugs,

I used to love all the village shows. It would have been our's this weekend if we were still in UK. I love to see all the flowers and lovely produce, as well as all the hand crafted items. The last time I went, I got to cuddle a one day old piglet. He was so solid but warm and squirmy. I lived in a fairly rural area on the border with Wales, so there were always plenty of animals to see. There was obviously plenty for you to see at your too. I am glad you enjoyed it. Kate x

We also used to go to country shows (and folk festivals). The Bath and West show being the largest. I have also been to a large one in Carlisle when I was up there one year. I love to see all the animals and the stalls. Thank you for taking me around this particular one. Yes, I agree it looks great.
I smiled when I saw the rocking horse. Yes, Elizabeth will love that one.
I'm looking forward to seeing photos of the Bakewell show. We have been to Bakewell many times but never to the show.
Have a good week,
Hugs,
Lisca

Looks like you had a fabulous day out. Just as well I didn't go or that stall with bunnies and hare ornaments on it might have looked a bit bare!
