Masterboard Card Ideas

Hi Bloggettes, here are the next offerings of ideas from the last Masterboard.
Hope you are enjoying the Christmas season and looking forward to the New Year.
I have made these ATCs for my club swap using my last Masterboard with the addition of a Tim Holtz clock stamp on black card and some Indigo Blu clock stamps added to the background. The Happy New Year stamp is from a set by Anita's stamps.

I still have some of this Masterboard left over, just have to decide what to do with it, we shall see!

A Happy New Year to you all.

Many thanks to all those who have supported me in my first few months as a blogger.

The Adventures of BP Mini Me.

Hi BP here, it's not fair look what I've found! Where did he get it? I want one.
Teksta where did you get the ribbon and why are you wearing it?

It's Christmas you silly little robot and I'm trimmed up, it's the law.

I will have to find out what this is all about lol! Sounds like fun, does everyone do it or just dogs.

Well of course dogs are most important but people like it too.

Back soon when I have investigated this further.

Masterboard Card Ideas

Hi Blogbuddies here is the first of the card ideas using last week's Masterboard.

The clock is actually silver but it was so shiny that the red colour of my camera is showing on the photograph.
Both the silver clock die and the stamped clock are by Tim Holtz.

Just in case my husband cannot remember how old he is this birthday, I have included it behind the clock face.

I quite like this idea for including a little hidden message.
Hope you have a great Christmas.

Back soon.

Tim Holtz Tags

Hi Blogbuddies, I decided to have a go at the tag projects on Tim Holtz's blog.
I loved the one he made but decided to adapt it slightly by altering the colour.
Hope Tim doesn't mind.

Started off by spraying the black card with blue Cosmic Shimmer  Mist.
Next I embossed the card with the Tim Holtz Layering stencil, Bubble and rubbed over this with Treasure Silver gilding wax. I like to put this on with a dry stencil brush.
The mesh is builders scrim and I love this and have used it in lots of projects, it's easy to get from companies such as B&Q.
I used the Tattered Poinsettia for the flower and the Festive Greenery for the leaves.
The stamp was by KaiserCraft and I used Staizon to colour the Modelling film.

Before constructing the tag I edged the tag with silver ink using a blending tool.
I finished off the Poinsettia with stickles, slightly different to how Tim finished his but I love the shine it gives, very important with Christmas cards and tags, it's the law lol!
Then mounted it all up and added the ribbon.

Hope you like it and best wishes to my followers and visitors, hope you all have a great Christmas.

Lavinia Stamps Fairies on Fabric

Hi Blogfriends, here is an update of where I am with the next sample.

Just a reminder of what I'm doing.
The original downloaded print is shown below with a collection of media which could be included in the project.

The first thing was to tack several layers of coloured Organza on the back of the print and then machine along some of the lines on the design.
Quite like the look of this but it's only the start.
She has a lot to go through yet lol!

Next I cut away parts of the surface fabric to show the organza, as seen below.

I know it looks a bit sad but this is the back showing the organza.

The face is sewn all the way round allowing a cut to be made so that some polyester stuffing can be inserted.

Once this was sewn up and the machining trimmed I tacked on a piece of interlining to the back to give a little more weight to the design.

Here you can see how the stuffing gives a 3D effect to the face.
At the moment the face looks very smooth and the features look very flat.

It is interesting to note the changes to the face when stitchwork is added, giving more depth to the features.

I decided to add the buttons next, these definitely add to the detail.

I'm liking her already but there's a long way to go yet.

Hope you like her too.
Back soon with the next stage,

Quick Christmas Cards

Hi Blogmates hope you are nearly ready for Christmas lol!
These should be the last of my Christmas cards for this year but they are good if you are in a rush.

The main bauble stamp and the snowflake die are by Tim Holtz .
The sentiment stamp is 'Tis the Season'  by Personal Impressions.
I was able to use up lots of printed Christmas papers that I have had for ages and not found a use for.

Started by die cutting the front edge of the card stock.
Then stamped the bauble lots of times in colours which would go well with  the papers.
Any amount of decoupage could be done with this design and  with those cards that would have to be posted I added more stickles instead.
Next, I decorated the front of the card with Christmas style images, anything can be used for this but kept it small so that it didn't detract from the bauble.
Attach the patterned paper on the inside so that it shows through the die cut and place the bauble at an angle on the front.
Finish this with gems and you have it lol! finished.

Hope these are useful to those of you who need a quick card.

Masterboard Monday

Hi Bloggies hope you are all well.
This Masterboard is for the background of a birthday card but hope to use the left-over card for something else.

For this I used a sheet of 12x12 cream card and sprayed it with Crafty Notions Sprays with Mica.
Next I stamped onto the card with the number stamp from the IndigoBlu Good Times stamp set and added some of the clock images which are also in the set.

Back soon with the card ideas.

Lavinia Stamps Fairies on Fabric

Hi Blogbuddies hope you are well and managing to  get all those Christmas cards finished.
I always mean to start early but it never happens lol!

However I have found time to start the next piece for Tracey from Lavinia Stamps.
Not sure at this stage how it will develop but with the gorgeous downloads, who could go wrong!

So I did my favourite thing and gathered together some interesting mixes of materials to whet the appetite.
It's always a good way to get started.

The downloads and cotton sheets are available at Lavinia Stamps and the ones I have chosen here are Zen Fabric1 and Zen Fabric3.
I am hoping to get this started soon and will keep you all updated as I progress.

Some interesting little treasures.
Metallic threads, organza fabrics, buttons, ribbons, bindings, machine and hand embroidery threads, water soluble fabric, lace, shisha mirrors, onion bags and little christmas bells are just some of the items I may add to this piece.

Hope you will call back to see what I've done.
I hope to get some of it started before Christmas takes over.

Masterboard Card Ideas

Hi Blogbuddies here is the card made with yesterday's Masterboard.

  • Used a gatefold card for this one.
  • Spellbinders 2011 Heirloom Ornaments die.
  • A star punch.
  • Holographic card.
  • Black card sprayed with mica ink.
  • Sentiment Stamp.
  • Stickles glue.
  • Acetate.
Once the Masterboard is completed it is fairly quick to make the card.

I thought the masterboard looked a bit dull so added the Holographic card. It's not something I use very often but it works with this, I think?
Christmas cards have to be shiny, it's the law lol!

I like movement in cards whenever I can so  just had to add the swinging stars suspended from acetate strips. These need to be attached before the card front is added.

  • Cut out the three different sizes of bauble as shown above.
  • Highlight the trees on the topper using Stickles glue.
  • Cut out the main sections of the card and add any extra stamping. I used a star corner stamp.
  • Stamp a sentiment onto a strip of black card and attached this on the inside at the bottom.
  • Punch the stars out and attach to strips of acetate. This needs to be attached at the top between the card and the Masterboard sections.
  • When the Masterboard sections are glued onto the card, take the topper and attach it at a quirky angle.

Hope this gives you more ideas for your own Christmas cards if like me you are still trying to get them finished lol!

Masterboard Monday

Hi Bloggists here is this weeks Masterboard ready for the next Christmas card.

I used a mica ink and sprayed this onto a smooth white card then stamped onto it with a Clarity stamp and a black Archival ink.
I stamped twice without adding extra ink to the stamp to give depth to the picture.
Also stamped below the main image to give the effect of a reflection.
Then spritzed the bottom section with water and blotted this.

Back with the card tomorrow.

Christmas Decorations

Hi Blogfriends, I have been making this little house for a dear friend though I found it rather difficult to part with it and might end up making another.
The wooden money box house was from The MDF Man and I used a variety of dies and card, Lavinia stamps, Gesso, Artist Spackle, a text stencil, a Martha Stewart Icicle punch, some white acrylic paint, stickles glue a decorative star and bow.

I started by stencilling the text using the Artist Spackle and then covered the whole house with Gesso.
While this was drying I cut out the dies and then stamped the snowflakes onto the house.

This is the finished box showing the house and tree die by Memory Box which was added next and the fir needle branches were placed along the bottom.
I then added the rest of the die cut shapes and finshed off with the stickles glue, the birds, ribbon and the star.

The round things inside are chocolate snowballs.

These photographs show the sides and back of the box.

Hope you liked this?

The Adventures of BP Mini Me.

Hi Mini friends, just found this small creature, all wrapped up.
He has pointy little ears, tiny little eyes, a furry body and looks a bit like a mouse but appears to have wings lol!
Teksta is going through his computer bank to try and find out what it is.

A bat !!! it's a bat !!!!! What's a bat?
Teksta says it's a small furry mammal with pointy ears, tiny eyes, a bit like a mouse and has wings.
Didn't I just tell him all that ?
There's another one!! How many of them are there?

He says he was having a sleep up there ( it's that time of year you know!), but will come down soon.

Do you two have names?
Yes we do, I am Eumops and my friend is called Pip.

PiP is very lazy and sleeps all the time but look he's waking up.
It's probably nearly dinner time.

Maybe when he wakes up he will join us ?

Back soon with my new friends.

Masterboard Card Ideas

Hi Blogfriends, still having fun with the JOFY Christmas stamps, set 06.
This is the sample I have made for my Ali-Craft Blog project so hope you will pop over there to see what's going on.

This is the set that Ali asked me to use for this project.
I just love them and you get so many stamps for your money which is great.
These stamp so well and very clearly.
If you have a look at earlier posts you will see some of the other samples I have done.

I loved these stamps so much that I also bought the next set, 03.
This set has some great images for focal points.
I always feel happy when a design has a background, foreground and focal point.
Composition and good balance makes the design special even in a simple card like this.

I started by making a Masterboard, those who are familiar my work will know how much I love these.

First using the large stamp and perfect medium, emboss with clear embossing powder.
Next colour the background by covering a craft mat with distress ink, spritz it with water and drag the card over it.

Next using Peacock Feathers distress ink, use the same stamp but offset the images as shown below.

Then use the border stamp from set 06 and stamp four times.
The card I used for this is actually what I had used to clean the mat.
Never let it be said that I waste any ink lol!
These need to be cut out ready to use as a border for the topper.

Next stamp the baubles from the set 03 and decorate with stickles glue.
Stamp the sentiment from Set 06 and mount the topper onto green and silver card.

The design is now ready to be constructed.
After completing the topper, stamp the sentiment again using the same coloured ink as the baubles to create a reflective appearance to the words.

Well that's your lot, hope you like it.

Back soon.

Lavinia Stamps Fairies on Fabric.

Hi Bloghoppers, next stage of the waistcoat and nearly finished !!!

All turned the right way round and tacked up ready for the edge stitching and finishing the seams.

The original pattern does not have fastenings though it would be possible to include these in the form of buttons and buttonholes or frog fastening if required.

Back soon with the completed waistcoat.
Then I can start the next sample lol!

Lavinia Stamps Fairies on Fabric.

Hi Blogstitching  friends, the waistcoat is all ready now for the final stages.
I think this is when it looks a bit messy but all that will disappear when it's turned the right way round.
The lining has been attached and everything is inside-out at this stage.

As you can see, the only parts that are not sewn up are the side seams.
The waistcoat will now be turned the right way round and then the side seams can be completed and the edge stitching done.

Masterboard Card Ideas.

Hi Blogsters, still using the Christmas stamps by JOFY available from Ali-Craft and decided to try the brown craft card for this sample.

This is another quick card for all of us who are still needing to get those Christmas cards made lol!

I stamped the background first using a brown archival ink pad and then used the border stamp on the same card which I cut to shape ready to add to the topper.

I stamped the baubles from JOFY 03 set on cream card and added stickles glue for added interest.

I layered the design with more brown and cream card and gold mirri and then added the borders and finished this with gems and the sentiment stamp.
I also added some stickles to the background inside the card.

Back again soon with more quick card ideas.
