WOYWW 330 # What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

And this is what's on my desk today...
Now this is a bit different from last week as I have had a tidy up!
Just had to make some space..... nice but not sure how long it will last!

So here it is about as tidy as it gets!

A close-up here shows that there is a space to work on now.

And here are the stamped images I'm working on this week.
I have had these stamps for some time but still love them.

I have used water colour pencils on these and finished them off with glaze and stickles.

I thought I would colour the sky on this one and used the Chameleon pens to do this.

These stamps are the same make as the one I used last week.

Hope that was quick enough for you as I know there are lots more blogs to visit, which is were I am off to now Lol!

See you soon.

Happy crafty week,

That Craft Place Challenge.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

And here is my fifth design for :
That Craft Place Challenge Blog.

As usual this fortnight's theme is:
Mixed Media Anything Goes!
So can't go wrong there!

And I chose this time to work with tags to make a 3Dimensional wall plaque... at least that was my idea!
I started with these four tags which are available from That Craft Place.

And played around for a while with the arrangement as I had decided to stack them.

Next I started the process of decorating the tags.

I applied grunge paste through a stencil (Cogs-That Craft Place).
I can't resist those Steampunk stencils.
I wanted to try different techniques with the same stencil and here are the results.
The smallest stencil on the left was done using Viva Ferro Golden Green Metalic Effect Colour.
The next was using sticky embossing powder to which I added Clear Micro Beads and the third one was done with Viva crackle glaze.
The largest tag at the bottom was the one I completed with the Grunge paste.

The colours don't matter as I will be painting over these which I have done here with white Gesso.

And then applied metallic paints to the tags.

This is basically how I plan the finished arrangement should look.

So many combinations!

Here are some of the mediums I used to make this project.

I added further crackle paste to the design and a little stamping .

They all looked so nice that it was very difficult to stack them, covering all that gorgeousness! but plans are plans Lol! so here goes.......

Coloured a few embellishments.

And then set about putting it all together and this is how it looks completed.

Still not sure about the Angel, she may end up more brassy but she kind of softens the Steampunk theme.
Let me know what you think.

Hope you enjoyed looking and will pop over and join in the challenge over at

Happy crafting,

Angela x

Friday Fun Day

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Remember this:
I promised to show you how I used some of it and here it is.

I decided to use some of the pieces made on the Texture Tread in the completion of a Shrine I made recently.

Some of you may have seen it already as I made it for the challenge over at

The piece I used was attached inside the Shrine at the back creating lovely 3D texture.
If you would like to see how I made this shrine there is a tutorial here if you missed it.

Hope you like it.

Happy Friday Fun Day,

WOYWW 329 # What's On You Workdesk Wednesday.

I almost didn't show you this today as my desk is so untidy due to the fact I called in the Range yesterday and have not got round to moving the stuff yet.

The tag is for something I need to do anytime now and I also bought some nice silver cord which you can see on the left next to a stamped Christmas image I have just coloured.

Well that's it for today so I'm off to have a look at what everyone else is up to.
Quick though just how we like it.

See you soon.

Happy crafty week,

Masterboard Monday

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Here is the Masterboard sent to me by my friend Gloria.
I am surprised to say this but we will be concentrating on Christmas cards for a while!

And I have started by making two.
I am aiming this year to make them as slim as possible so that those that need to be posted can go into a normal size envelope.

This card was made using a Spellbinders edge die and finished with gems.

And this one was made using a die by Marianne Designs and again decorated with gems.

Clean and simple cards.
More to follow soon.

Hope you enjoyed looking.
Take care and happy crafting,

Friday Fun Day

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Welcome once again to my Friday Fun Day, hope you enjoy looking at what I've been up to this week.
Some of you may have notice I've been working on some cartoons using various Tim Holtz stamps.
I originally found the idea on-line at
Sandy Allnock who has kindly allowed us to download a free template to do the comic strip on, what a kind lady she is.
Sandy has used the Crazy Bird stamps which I love but I wanted to try and do something different, so decided to use the robot stamps instead for my own cartoon strip so here it is..........

I placed my paper over the top of one of the cartoon grids as shown below and masking round the box so that I could then stamp where I wanted to without it marking other sections.
I also made some masks to fit the Crazy Thoughts Stamps and masked some of these while I completed the stamping.
Because I want them to show at the front they need to be stamped first and masked off. Now I know most of you understand this process.

The card or paper you use needs to be thin enough so that you can see through it to the boxes if you are doing it this way though you could stamp directly onto the printed grids if you prefer.
Vellum would work well with this but you would need to stamp with a quick drying ink such as Brilliance or StazOn  though you could also heat emboss the stamped images but this would take even longer as this is quite a lengthy process anyway.

Here is one of the cartoons waiting to be coloured.

The stamping was completed by masking off parts of the design as the work progressed and I added some extra sentiments too.
I like to draw the box lines free-hand as it looks more like the original cartoons this way but you could do it with a ruler if you prefer.

I then set about colouring it in and I used Chameleon pens for this but you could use what ever colouring medium you prefer.

(Hope you like my Selfie, very becoming I think Lol!)

I think you could have great fun making up the stories once you get going but you can work this one out for yourselves!

And this is the second design.

Finally I added some shading in the traditional cartoon way using various mark making techniques such as Lines, Cross-hatching and Stippling (often used by Roy Lichtenstein and other cartoon artists, not that I ever imagine I could be as good as them Lol!).

So there you go!
It's actually quite easy but just takes time to do.

These are the stamps I used:
All by Timmy!
Though I did use one other stamp for the robots hat and that was by JudiKins.

Hope you enjoyed looking at this week's fun day.

Happy crafting,

Angela x
