Crafty Cardmakers # 172 Layer It Up.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi! back again to tell you that it's time for another challenge over
at Crafty Cardmakers.

The theme for this project is Layer It Up and I've been doing just that in my journal.

Marlene is hosting our Layer It Up challenge. Lots of layers please!!!

As usual You can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to just be cards, as long as it meets the challenge, and doesn't exceed the 15 total challenges entered rule!

I started by using stencils on the page with 3D gel and then a layer of Gesso before starting with the colour. I added Tim Holtz die cur Doilies and tags that had been embossed and coloured. Some stamping around the page fr added interest.

These close-ups will give you a better idea.

I had die cut a frame for use later and placed the waste section onto the page so that I could use it as a mask .

Then added some shadow to the inside of where the frame will be placed

Next the frame was set in place.

And the butterfly added with some silver banding placed under the body.

Close-up showing more detail are below.

So that's it.
Hope you like it.

I would love to here your comments.

Happy crafting,

Angela xXx

I would like to enter this in the following challenges:
Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge 171 - Lets Fly Away.

So many amazing layers on this beautiful journal cover. I am gobsmacked at how gorgeous this is. I would be scared to try as I know I would muck it up for sure - but working on a bit of mixed media type work. Just love your creativity Angela.

A fabulous journal page. The muted colours are a lovely backdrop for the collage of tags, doilies and gorgeous metallic frame. That's a great idea to create the shadow for the frame.
Thank you for joining in with the September challenge "Anything Mixed Media Goes" at Creative Artiste Mixed Media and good luck x
Are you aware we currently have a DT call for mixed media artists and I'd love to see you apply.
