WOYWW 449 #What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!
All set up for some Art journaling.

I want to do more in my journals so decided to start with this little one from 'Heart From the Heart'.
This is the one that I take away with me on holiday because I am sad Lol! Sometimes it gets used and sometimes it doesn't.
I am working on some backgrounds to begin with to hopefully get me in the mood Lol!

The pages are often a bit messy so started by covering these with Gesso.
That's just scrap paper under the pages. I do try and keep the other pages clean but it doesn't always work cos I'm messy.

Next lots of Distress Oxide ink.

Dry that and add black distress ink around the edge going inwards towards the centre and then splatter water over it.

I used another piece of card to blot this.

Which gave me these pages.

The card I used to blot with ended up like this.

You could blot it with other papers, kitchen roll is also one of my favourites but you could use fabric too depending on what your plans are for it. As yet I'm not sure what I will use this for but when I know I'll tell you!

So That's me done for today, tried not to keep you too long.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Angela x

As you know I’m not a paper crafter but I do enjoy seeing what you do and how you get the effects so thanks for sharing it.
Hope you have a fun week.

Oh Angela; nice mop up sheet (and journal page background). There's nothing quite like getting a twofer is there? Look forward to seeing where you go with them. Happy WOYWW Sarah #12

Hi Angela. I rather like that - from where I'm sitting it looks really gentle - and the "mop up" page looks like you are peeking through holes to see what's behind... Well done - enjoy what you do next
Take care. God bless.

Angela, love the end result on your pages, It will be really nice to work on. I have 3 journals on the go right now. No 1 is for just random art journaling moments, No 2 I trace and sketch (badly) into it and watercolour and it's my travel one, No 3 is my 'Lyrics' journal - I started it last year and I build mixed media scenes / backgrounds that fit the lyric I want to use. All the lyrics mean something to me. Claire #30

Oooh, I do love those water droplets! What a wonderful visual effect! Do you fix that layer somehow? I love these water reactive inks, what I always run into problems when I want to put subsequent layers on top of them! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #18

That's really interesting, Angela. I an trying to get to grips with journaling and must admit I mess up other pages along the way. Hadn't thought of gessoing them first. I will definitely be doing that now.

Love your pages Angela. I have a couple of page protectors that I made for each different size of journal, from craft sheets. Must put them up on my blog so you know what I mean. Remind me if I forget.
Off ski-ing?
Hugs & Thanks for the visit, Neet 5 xx

Your AJ already looks a treat ... I take a journal/sketchbook with me on every holiday. I even have one that I glue in all the bits of paper rubbish we collect on our travels. Thanks for your lovely comments. Have a wonderful holiday.

Happy Belated WOYWW. Fab background. I am going to be getting back to some journaling today, after a week or so of concentrating on making ATCs. I have my first piece for Soul Journey 2018 to finish off, and then there will be more random use of stash in probably more than one journal ! Ali x #7

I laughed at your "I'm messy" comment - you and me both, although I reckon I probably beat you hands down in the messy stakes! I'm hoping to do some journaling this year too. I bought a small journal last year, but haven't dared use it yet! Must conquer the fear x

I like the piece you used to blot with - I think it'll make a great background. It's hard to stay clean when making inky pieces at the best of times but I imagine working in a journal is extra difficult. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #25

Oooh Angela, these are juicy gorgeous! I love the water spattered effect and the blotting off is genius. Fabulous results! Thanks so much for your visit and your sweet comment - I had a very good appointment at the hospital this a.m. (blogged about it this evening) and the operation is definitely going ahead now which I am pleased about, but I've been warned that it won't be an easy ride. It will be worth it in the end, though. Glad you enjoyed seeing the kitties.

Happy WOYWW,
