WOYWW 264 : Lavinia Stamps Fairies On Fabric.

A big welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

I have just realised that it is the first anniversary of my blog on Friday and almost missed it.
If you pop back on Friday I will have news of  a little something I will be giving away to celebrate.
Happy crafting, Angela x

Hi Workdesk friends.
Angela here to show you "what's on my work desk this Wednesday"(WOYWW) and if you visit Julia you will have access to desks throughout the world, so hope you will hop over to the Stamping Ground and all will be revealed.

If the desk looks untidy I am not willing to apologise Lol!
So there!
I am working on the fairy journal and hope to combine Lavinia Stamps with her Fairy Downloads, I posted information about this on Tuesday.

While I was going through some of my boxes looking for samples (Lavinia Stamps and Downloads) for the fairy journal, I found these.

I made these some time ago by stamping onto silk with embossing ink, adding embossing powder and then heating it.
When it's cool you can add the colour with which ever medium you prefer and then iron it between sheets of paper which absorbs the embossing as it melts again, leaving you with an effect similar to Batiking.

On this sample I have stamped using a crackle effect stamp on felt, using a pigment ink.
The ink needs to be nice and juicy as the felt is very absorbent.
I added the colour before stamping.

And here is the piece I made using these samples.
This is a copy of an ATC that I made some ... well years ago actually, for Tracey at Lavinia Stamps.

And inside...

I have always loved this stamp.
If you would like to see the range of stamps available you will find them at Lavinia Stamps.

The leaves come as a separate stamp so that you can add them or not, it's up to you.
I also added some stickles glue to the leaves, lace, which I coloured with the same ink as the fabric and the little angel brad to complete the ATC.

I hope to include some of these samples with the Fairy Downloads to create the journal.

So that's what's been going on this week, hope you will pop over and visit some of the other desks too.

Back soon,

Angela x

This is so pretty with all the silk and that cute fairy popping out of the tree house. Such pretty colours you've used and it is so true no matter how many brads you own your still searching for the one you saw in the store that's not in your collection. Think I have so many because they are so small and fit in a tiny box :) hugs Nikki 11 thanks for the visit

Hi Angela,

I really like the technique on the silk material. Very cool looking. I don't think anyone needs to apologize for an untidy desk. That just means that you've been busy!

I'm wondering about the snakeskin also. I thought of maybe making a basket of some sort (maybe out of twigs from the yard) and incorporating the snake skin. I also collect rocks, mostly that remind me of hearts. I could glue things I find outside onto sticks and make some kind of wall hanging. That would show off the snakeskin better and maybe not be as morbid as putting it in a nest!

Thank you for visiting me already!
Happy WOYWW
