WOYWW # 369 What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

However the link up will still be with Jan this week.

So here is my desk for today!

New stamp on the left and another shrine but not quite sure where that's going. Some new Pebeo stuff just on the right next to a very old packet of water colour pencils. That box on the left still looks a bit precarious even though I have removed some stuff Lol!

Here's the new shrine still in pieces.

And this jar of interesting buttons is some how involved with the creation but you will have to wait and see!

And a new card for this week, finished and ready to go for my mums birthday, sorry cos I know some of you may have seen this already but it's on there somewhere, just have to find it again as it's my mum's birthday soon!

So that's me done for today.

Thank you for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Crafty Cardmakers 167 # Shabby Chic/ Distressed

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi! back again to tell you that it's time for another challenge over
at Crafty Cardmakers.

And here is the card I've made for this challenge:

Ina is hosting our challenge this time. We would like to see your shabby chic/distressed creations. As usual you can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to just be cards, as long as it meets the challenge, and doesn't exceed the 15 total challenges entered rule!

We are sponsored for this challenge by:

WOODWARE CRAFT COLLECTION
With a prize of £12 to spend at your favourite Woodware stockist, either in store or on-line.

Here are the stages in making.

I started by applying embossing ink unevenly through a stencil and applied embossing powder to create some resist areas.

And then applied colour which was done by rubbing ink onto a craft mat, spray this with water and then drag the card over it until it is covered. It may be necessary to allow the card to dry between colours to prevent the card becoming saturated.

Once the card was dry I stamped over it with first and second generation ink using a music stamp.

Next I chose a section of the masterboard and cut this to it a 7x7 card blank. Next I used White Crackle Texture Paste through the same stencil and left it to dry naturally.

Here is the finished background paper which I also distressed sround the edge to give it a more shabby look.

At this stage I was ready to start putting the card together.
I coloured some cream ribbon with Big and Juicy ink.

I also wanted a butterfly but not sure what I wanted it to look like at this stage so heat embossed several.
One on the Masterboard and four on some Velum and cut these out using the Tim Holtz stamp and die set.

I cut out several flowers from the Tim Holtz Thinlits Die using black, blue and Masterboard card.

Also cut out a doily from the Tim Holtz range.

To complete the card I layered the Masterboard onto satin card and finished the embellishments with the ribbon, gems and a sentiment from another Tim Holtz Thinlit set.

Shabby Chic?

I hope you will pop over to see what the rest of the DT have been up to and maybe join in the challenge.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
 Happy crafty card making.

Friday Fun Day 175

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi, Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.
We went to the Lincolnshire Show on Wednesday and I'd like to show you a few of the things we saw.
As you can see the weather was quite good, it started raining a little about 4.00 p.m. but by then we were almost ready to go home.

I so love to visit the old cars they are so stylish.

Thought this was interesting for the stampers Lol!

Duck herding.

And a dinosaur, he was quite friendly thank goodness, quite a sweetie actually Lol!

Chickens.

Tortoise.

They never seem to stop eating this lot.

Horses, naturally.

Oh and my friend, singing in the Choir though they were actually playing kazoos in this photograph.

The schools had produced some little gardens.

There are lots more but don't want to bore you completely so will stop now but we had a great day.

So that's my fun day.

 Thanks for stopping by.
Let me know if they make you smile.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too if you like.

Thanks for stopping by,

So here is my desk for today!

I'm trying to tidy up but people keep having birthdays this month!
Just in the middle of making one for my dad then I will be moving on to mum's so it's all go on the card front.
The box of stuff on the left will explode soon if I don't do something!
The little book next to it is my list of monthly challenges and to the back of that are some water colour pencils.
Centrally at the back is the beginning of the card I'm making then various equipment, spray bottle, wet ones, all the usual necessities.

So that's me done really for today.
Nice and quick! as I need to get back to getting these cards finished.

Thank you for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to so the cards will have to wait for a while at least!

Masterboard Monday

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Another Monday and another Masterboard project.
This one was used as the background for a birthday card.
My friend asked me for something with a skier on it and 70 but where to start.
So I took a stencil with numbers and built up the masterboard using shades of blue, but still wasn't quite sure where this was going so I turned to one of my favourite Tim Holtz stamps and dies.

And this is what I made.

The skier is placed so he appears to be skiing onto the cup cake, I hope that works Lol!
I stamped the cupcake and the skier onto the masterboard and on to white card, after colouring these the cupcake was die cut and the skier cut out with scissors.
I layered a section of the masterboard with black and silver card and attached it to the card blank.
Then attached the sections of the cupcake and the skier.

The Masterboard:

Made with:
  • The stencils:
Tim Holtz-Numbers THS058
              Circles THS037
                    Snow DriftTHS021
  •  The Inks:
Distress inks - Salty Ocean, Stormy Skies, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot.
  •  The Cup cake:
Tim Holtz Framelits die and matching stamp - Birthday Blueprint.
  •  Skier stamp:
A Muse Art Stamps - Skier.
  • Number Dies:
Tim Holtz Thinlits 661187.
Movers and Shapers - Cargo Number Set.

  •  The white blobs were created using:
Pebeo - 4Artist Marker Brilliant White.

I coloured the cake and the candle using water soluble crayons - Derwent Aquatones and finished the card with stickles glitter glue and black gems.

Hope you like it and hope my friend does too!

Happy Monday,

Angela xXx

Friday Fun Day 174.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi all I've been really busy this week but did manage to get out for a walk with the girls on Wednesday to a place called Willingham Woods near Market Rasen Lincolnshire.

We were really lucky as the weather was warm though humid but when we got home at about 2.30pm the heavens opened with thunder and lightening like I have never seen and it continued for over an hour.
Now you may wonder why this might make me smile but it did because it was a miracle we got back before it started Lol!

I thought you might like this photograph I took too.
This is quite a rare sight now. Sorry the photograph is not brilliant but I had to be quick as we drove past.
These are real Gypsies not the travellers who drive around in vans.
That is one gorgeous caravan.

The rest of my week has been spent with the usual stuff, ironing and house work Boo! Hoo! hate it, food shopping, taking my mum out, gardening, walking dogs and a little crafty stuff here and there, naturally! well lots actually as there seems to be loads of birthdays this month and shrines to make.

Lincolnshire show next week so hope to have some photos for you.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too.

So that's it for today.
Have a great weekend with lots more smiles.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge # 166: A Special Man.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi! back again to tell you that it's time for another challenge over
at Crafty Cardmakers.

The theme for this Challenge is For a Special Man
With Father's Day a couple of days away we would like to see your projects for a Special Man.
This challenge is being hosted by Lin.
You can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to be just cards, as long as it meets the challenge, and doesn't exceed the 15 total challenges entered rule!

To make this card  started by creating a Masterboard made with old car tax disks.

I started with an A3 sheet of cartridge paper.

Then took several old tax disks and ripped them apart.
These had originally belonged to a friend who had kept them for years so it seemed a shame to just throw them away. For this project I am only using the red ones though there are several other colours too and I will use them sometime in the future I'm sure.

I attached these randomly to the paper.

And then using this Prima stencil,

to apply ink to the top of the disks and heat embossed it with clear powder.

To finish the Masterboard, I sprayed the surface with red ink and then buffed it to remove the excess from the embossed areas.

You can see here that I also added a text stamp to the design.

I have also used left over pieces of this Masterboard

which was originally made using this stamp.

Finally before putting everything together, I used  a Tim Holtz stamp (Vintage Auto CMS265) to create the topper for the card which was also heat embossed.

I used a blending tool to add the distress ink and then sprinkled water over the top and dabbed it off to create the splashed effect.
I used a Creative Expressions stamp (Classic Cars) for the sentiment.

At this stage I was ready to construct the card. I used red textured card and smooth black to layer the sections. Some of the edges were distressed before everything was put together and the card finished by adding black gems down two sides.

I hope you will pop over to see what the rest of the DT have been up to and maybe join in the challenge.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
 Happy crafty card making.
