WOYWW - 659 - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
We are here for another Wednesday at the Workdesk and here is:
"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk for today!

Desk looking tidy but only because I've just finished playing with those white pens, more to follow.

New stamp set from Indigo Blu by Zuri.

Exploding box near to explosion! A sample of the Retiform pattern and in front of that and some AALL and create stamps and dies.

The old ones are often the best and these are some old pencils that I've had for a very long time and above those some new washi tape.

I had a play with the new white pens and a few others to give an idea of how they performed.
They all work quite well on black card though some show up whiter than others.
If you're wondering why I used the Chalkola twice on the right it was because it came in two sizes but to be honest there didn't seem to be much difference between them.

So then I went onto some markers, pencils and paint to see how they performed on top of these.

The Chalkola which is the new pen did work quite well on all the marks and in fact was the only one that worked well on the graphite.
The Uniball worked the best over charcoal pencil and pretty good over the others except the graphite.

The Sharpie always looks nice and white but it is quite a thick nib.

I'm still in favour of the Uniball pen and there wasn't much difference between the two again apart from the Graphite so if you think you will be using it then the Chalkola is a good option.

The Pergamano and the Gelly Roll were my least favourites with the Posca next which I was surprised about as it seemed fine on the black card.
Then the Pebeo and the Sharpie with the Chalkola and Uniball taking top slot.

So that's me done for today and hope that might have been some use.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Angela x

I’m doing my rounds while I wait for Julia to put her post up so there’s no link as yet....I’m sure you know where to find me.
I was wondering what you needed white pens for (says she who only uses white paper) and now I know 😀
Hugs,

Interesting experiments Angela. The Uniball one writes crisply I think. Sorry my comments failed last week, they kept disappearing. I was trying to tell you to send me your address so I could send you some chocolate but then B had finished it off. If you want to try it, send the addy to my iCloud email, top right of my blog.
Take care and happy WOYWW

Congrats on numero uno dear Angela! well done, and thanks for clarifying in your test run on white pens.
Eileen always uses posca pens on her work for Clarity videos and I've only just sourced them here!
... but not terribly impressed at all thus far,
as takes far bit to get it going each time, in long run time will tell. I do like my uniball best of few I have, haven't heard of some of yours at all.

Thanks for Sharing, God bless and keep you safe, and all those you love, hugs Shaz in Oz.x

White pens are such a mixed bag! You got the number one spot - yay! It’s the little things that make our day. I have done it once so far :). Great new stash. Have a great week Angela #10

Thanks for the experimenting with the pens Angela. Always useful to see. I tend to use Posca but surprised it didn't fare well with your testing at all.
Thanks for that - food for thought - now where is my Uniball?
Hugs, Neet 6 xx
ps Congrats on the number 1 spot

That white pen test was very illuminating! I was surprised at how well the Uniball coped, much better than the Posca which is what I currently have. I LOVE that new stamp of the castle and dragons, would be quite tempted with that myself.

There be dragons! what a great stamp set, the castle is wonderful. Brilliant post Angela, all that work with the white pens is so commendable! I think I agree with your conclusions looking at your samples…the Sharpie and surprisingly, the Posca pens seem to move the colour about a bit under the nib which is a bit disappointing. I have Signo Uniball so will be happy with those for now, but when they need eplacing, I think the Chalkola are a good alternative. Thanks for all that! Oh my gosh the review in the prior post has reminded me of some of your lovely makes last year, they are beautiful.

Hi Angela! Thanks for sharing your experiments, Uniball seems to be the best for what I would be looking for.. I will have to get one. my Sakura works fairly well, I should do one of these charts for the few pens that I have as well! Have a great week, Lindart #23

I like how you did the experiment with the pens. I may have to check out the Uniball but my Gelly Roll is still working ok.
The exploding box looks threatening.
Thanks for popping by and have a wonderful week.

LOL! The quest for the perfect white pen has been a long and arduous one.... have you cracked it? Not sure. I have some Uniball Signos that work great, some that don't. Sharpies has a weird idea of a FINE nib, and my Posca splurts and spatters. I think at the end of the day it can be the luck of the draw with individual pens. But I will check out your new Chalkola ones - I do have the Uniball chalk marker set that came with a super fat nib and a ball top white pair and I do like them but wish here was a fine (true fine not Sharpie fine :D) nib as well. I often use the Pentel Micro-correct white-out pens which work pretty well most of the time.

Stay Safe & a late but Happy WOYWW!

White pens! I've struggled to find the best so find your experiments interesting, Angela. Not that I want to do anything other than write on black/coloured card in white. And only rarely which, I suspect, doesn't help - pens seem to dry out in no time at all. The Sharpie looked promising but I'd want a very fine tip for journaling. Hope the exploding box is still intact today. Have a great week. Elizabeth x#26

Fascinating to see your comparisons of those white, both on the black and then with other things over top. AND, I didn't even know that Sharpies came in white! 😄 You're always an education, Ang!

Love the white pen expo!
Thanks so much for the 12x12 album advice re Amazon. Just ordered a couple and refills (I put 30 pages in each and they only come with 10) and some word dies whilst I was at it. Nearly bought 5 albums but contained myself LOL, they are still in my wish list though....Did trawl 20 pages of metal dies but nothing has grabbed other than the words, words are great of scrapbook pages.
Anyway thanks and congrats on #1, think I managed it once!!! BJ#22

I so enjoyed reading this post Angela. Thank you for the feedback on the white pens. It was so interesting reading and looking at the different pens and the different results on the markers, pencils, black card etc.
Loving your exploding box and the new stamp set from Indigo Blu is so you Angela x.

Ooooh I do love a white pen review! I agree the Uniball is a good go-to pen but I will now have to get a Chalkola to test for myself of course! xx
