Friday Fun Day With Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi, Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

Not really done anything much different this week just the usual.... Gym, taking mum out, walking, shopping and gardening....... lots of things to smile about in the garden though.

Gorgeous flowers:

Hydrangeas. We have several different ones, really like these.

Passion flower.
Such amazing flowers.

Red hot Pokers.
They've been a bit slow this year.

Daisy things, not sure of their actual name is but they spread like mad.

Sweet Peas.

There are more but will save them for another time.

I am going to finish with these photos of the dogs.
I couldn't think of an appropriate caption but if you can by all means include it in your comment, something's going on here but I don't know what Lol!

So that's my fun day.

 Thanks for stopping by.
Let me know if they make you smile.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
"This Week's Smiles" and you can also share your  smiles too if you like.

WOYWW # 373 - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi Workdesk friends.
Here we are for another Wednesday at the Workdesk.
I am here again to show you:

"What's on my Workdesk this Wednesday".

If you don't know what this is all about then please visit the

Stamping Ground, our host Julia will explain.

So here is my desk today.
For those of you who have not seen this already, this is the card I've made this week using some leftover Masterboard. If you would like more details, it's in the post below this one.

You may be wondering what the paper is under the card. This is another little trick I use when making Masterboards.
Copy the Masterboard and then use the Picasa program or something similar to alter the colours which gives you whatever colour scheme you need almost instantly. I do find that Laser printers are best for this.
I use a lightweight card to print them as I am able to work other techniques over the top of this better than with paper.

I'm sorry I can't show you the project yet from last week but will explain soon. In the meantime I can show you what I am working on at the moment with these papers.

Here are the stamps I'm using.

By next week I will have some finished cards to show you.

So that's me done for today.

Thank you for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.
Have a great woyww
and
happy crafting,

Crafty Cardmakers # 169 Summer

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi! back again to tell you that it's time for another challenge over
at Crafty Cardmakers.

Bec is hosting our Summer Challenge. You can interpret this how you like, a coastal scene, summer activities, vacations etc. as long as it relates to Summer.

As usual You can enter anything you fancy, it doesn't have to just be cards, as long as it meets the challenge, and doesn't exceed the 15 total challenges entered rule.

And what a summer we are having here in the UK!
The garden is looking great encouraging lots of insects, bees, butterflies and dragonflies which are all lovely subjects for art work but the dragonflies won this time round.

As my regular visitors will know I am trying to use up some 'Leftovers' including half used Masterboards and found this one I made for an earlier project some time ago.

I stamped onto a blank card to give a watery effect and then used two torn pieces of the Masterboard to border the sides of the card.

And so to the completion of the card.

I stamped the same dragonfly several times on white card and then trimmed them so that only parts of the dragonfly were still visible. I enhanced the wings with Stickles glitter glue and also added some to the water droplets.

So here you have it......
completed!

I hope you will pop over to see what the rest of the DT have been up to and maybe join in the challenge.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with too.

 Happy crafting.

Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi, Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week.

Started off on Monday by going to the Gym again. I'm really getting back into proper exercise and loving it.
Tuesday went to my mums and took her out to Meadowhall shopping centre.
Wednesday I thought I would go to the Gym for  some swimming. I am not a very strong swimmer but I know it's good for you so while I have the chance I shall go as often as I can.
Thursday is shopping day and Friday, off to the gym again.
It may seem a bit intense but I'm trying to maintain my fitness ready for the ski season.
And what do you know but here we are again back to Friday and not a photo in sight so took some of Maisie and Stan enjoying the garden.

We always know when it's summer because Maisie does the Rolly Polly thing! She doesn't do this at any other time of the year.

And after a good roll.... a game of tug with Stan!

Have a great weekend everyone and
 thanks for stopping by.

WOYWW# 372 - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.

It looks almost tidy.
Again I moved some stuff out of the box on the left but it has filled up again. It is however useful for keeping stuff in when I'm working on a project.

A close-up here shows that I am using stencils, a file and some left-over Masterboard and I'm afraid that's all the information you will get as I am working on something at the moment that will have to remain a secret for the moment. The project is lurking under the Masterboard.
It will make an appearance soon but if you have any questions, just ask.

And here is the lovely ATC sent to me by Kelly and the lovely little extras that I am sure to have fun with. I absolutely love those little keys and the tiny playing cards and well..... all of it! Some of the labels and stamps I have never seen before.
Many thanks Kelly xXx

So that's me done for today.

Thank you for stopping by and hope you will pop over and join in the visits around the other desks.

I'm off now to see what everyone else is up to.

Masterboard Monday and Imagine Crafts.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.
Hi everyone, been playing with some goodies from Imagine Crafts (Tsukineko).

Silver and Pink Creative Medium (Embossing Paste).
Irresistible Pico Embellisher.
Stazon Studio Glaze.

I started with a square canvas.

Using a mask I applied the silver Creative Medium. This is a lovely thick creamy paste.

And here are the results.

I covered this with a coat of white Gesso and left it to dry.

The next thing was to make the Masterboard which I did by using the Studio Glaze over shaving cream.

Place the card over it, pull away and scraped off the cream revealing the pattern. Just love this technique.
I repeated the technique again using the same shaving cream and as you can see there is still colour there just a more subtle finish to it.

I used some of the ink to colour the top and bottom of the tag and then attached the marbled paper.

I used some of the Creative Medium to make embellishments too by putting it into a mould. I wasn't sure when I did this how well it would work but it set brilliantly.

Here you can see that I have applied more detail with embossing paste through another stencil and when dry I added colour using distress inks and handwriting with the Pico Embellisher.

More dotty details, stamped sentiment and handwriting on the tag.

More details on the canvas too.
I used some of the spare marbled paper, created raindrops and more handwriting.
The canvas is ready now for the tag to be attached.

Here are the stencils I used.

And the dies to make the butterfly.
I tried colouring some black card too with the Stazon Studio Glaze which looked gorgeous on this.

Also used some of the card to cut clouds and used a large embossing tool to shape them.

Here you can see the finished butterfly which was enhanced with the glaze.

As you can see I have added some die cut ferns and arrows to balance out the composition and darkened the corners slightly with more Distress Ink.

So that's it for today.
I hope you like it.

Back soon
and
happy crafting,

Angela x

Friday Fun Day with Smiles.

Welcome to all my new followers, hope you enjoy the journey.

Hi all.

Angela here again to show you what I've been up to this week. It's been very busy but I will try to keep this as short as possible.

Saturday went to the craft show at Doncaster and met up with my friend Elizabeth. Reluctantly I have given her a canvas I made some time ago for Tracy at Lavinia Stamps but I know she will love it so it's gone to a good home and here it is:

Him-in-Doors took the dogs for a walk... he has his uses.
Apparently he met a lady with a girly dog that Stanley took a fancy to so he stopped to talk to her, that's the lady of course not the dog, just as well... dogs can't talk though they do have plenty to say in other ways.

The bit that I'm getting to really made me smile, apparently whilst they were talking she happened to say that the Summer was here and she couldn't find the kids wellies!!!! Love it!
Not what you expect to wear in the summer but maybe you do in this country!

Lots of people at the craft show including Create and Craft.
Spent too much as usual though there were some good bargains.

Back home again.

Pond is looking pretty good.
One of the koi managed to jump out the other day despite the net but luckily I found him before the heron arrived and he seems okay. Sorry no photo as I was more concerned in getting him back in the pond, stupid fish!

Poppies are looking nice, including the ones at the Lincoln castle.

Caught up with Housework Sunday.

Went to see my mum and dad on Monday and out with friends on Tuesday....it's all go!

Wednseday was a day of rest supposedly! I had cards and stuff to make but ended up going with a friend to sign up at the Health Club.

Thursdsay was Hair Day this week and then food shopping and then off with friends to buy new tiles for their bathroom ( I know  a nice man that sells them) and so to...
Friday again and we are off to see a friend that my husband used to work with but I am going for an early morning to the Health Club first so just hope I'm not too shattered to go out.
I will get round to visiting you all later in the day if I can keep my eyes open Lol!.

You will be pleased to know the fish is okay. He had bumped himself about a bit on the net but the marks are going now and he's just as greedy as usual so there's not much wrong there.

So that's my fun week.

 Thanks for stopping by.
Let me know if they make you smile.

And if you would like some more smiles you just need to pop over to see what our other friends have been doing this week at Annie's for
